And is it me, or did you think this was an iPhone for a moment? That home screen suuuure looks familiar...

But wait, Samsung doesn't copy...

So you have formed an opinion already when the phone has only been out a week? Pot, kettle, black? The reality is what Apple UK has said: Not a single complaint to them. Since the majority of people sort their problems out quietly instead of going on the internet, if this problem was real, then for every blogger with a problem there would be hundreds of ordinary people with the same problem who just go the Apple Store and ask for a new phone. But these people don't exist.
That's not an opinion. It IS easier to bend than other phones.
Edit: Its only been a week. If the phone has a weak structural integrity, its going to take lots of repeated stress. So we will wait and see. Looking at videos where the iphone can be bent with just their fingers does make me worry. Moreso because repetitive stress, like having the phone in your pocket while sitting, only requires a fraction of the normal stress before failure. Anybody in their right mind should be worried.

but not that easy thats its not reasonable and no reason to think it will be an issue for the average user.

Do you agree?
I disagree. Most people watch the bending videos interpret that it takes a lot of force to bend, so it shouldn't be an issue. I look at that same video and see that it takes very little force. Your fingers aren't that strong. And when you have the phone in your pocket and subject it to repetitive stress, then it requires much less stress to bend it.

Does Apple spend any money on publicity??? Or do they just let the competition do it for them... And mainstream media. I love my 6+. My few mouthy droid friends are just funny to me. I never say anything when they get the latest samsung(does anyone else still make phones? LOL)
I can't wait to fast forward a couple months... Then the forum will be back to "normal"

That's like saying that a Chevy is more vulnerable to a side collision than a Buick. If you don't abuse it (get into an accident), it's fine.

If it were actually occurring during normal use, we'd know. This is a few people who likely abused the phone and a bunch of people breaking theirs for pageviews.
We do have safety ratings for cars. Its like saying one car has a much lower safety rating than another, which is fair.

I've never bought a phone at launch until this year with iPhone 6. I've always waited to see reviews and what not after it's been released.

The phone becoming an industry joke. Even my 11 yr old daughter been asking me if my phone is bending and if I have no service because of update.

Seems to me apple really messed this one up. The thin form factor going to lead to a lot of bending especially the 6+. Not well thought out. The ios8 is not stable at all and then the joke of an update they did yesterday was a disaster.

Now I get to go to work and listen to all the android boys break my chops saying I got a cheap device and now the one thing you can always say was good (iOS) is broken.

Personally only issue I've experienced personally is slow wifi from work (my home is excellent).

Any one else feeling a little embarrassed right now for running out and buying an unpolished and seems beta product?

First of all, shame on you for letting all the android fans get to you. The whole bending issue is a completely overblown issue and just fodder for all the Apple haters. IOS isn't broken. All the android phone manufacturers would trade places with Apple in a second. When do you ever hear about an android phone release? Who sleeps out for android phones? How many commercials does apple make that are based on some problem with an android phone? It's pretty sad.

So don't worry, all those Android users a just jeolous. You have a far superior product.

I wouldn't say it's a joke...but it's troubling how they've seen to lose their way a bit.

Apple has always prided themselves on building high quality devices that were extrodinarily simple to use. ('It just works.') They charged a premium, but customers were lining up to pay it because their products were that good.

Now it seems like they can't get out of their own way. The big innovation of the ip6 was a bigger screeen....which was really just catching up to the competition rather than raising the bar. Key features of iOS 8 were pulled at the last minute or not ready to roll out at launch. Every few days there is another case of Apple shooting themselves in the foot.

They are still moving a ton of products, so it's far from a joke. But their image/perception is taking a big hit.

But wait, Samsung doesn't copy...

All we have to do is look at the Alpha to know that Samsung copies Apple. At this point they're pretty much the anti-Apple that copies Apple, tbh.

Based on what? The iOS is bad right now according to many reports and I'm sure you saw what happened yesterday.

If it comes out the apple skimped on the metal they used to make this phone I'm gonna be furious.

I'm praying they sure up IOS and the bending thing is just a few phones that maybe had faulty construction.

The point-release of iOS 8 clearly had problems and Apple pulled it as soon as those problems were discovered. Should that have happened? Of course not. But although that was a particulary egregious problem, it is highly likely due to bugs that will be quashed in future releases.

Your "faulty construction" concern is different, because there is no evidence that ANY iPhones had faulty construction. All we know at present is that: (1) some phones have bent, (2) some people have alleged that the bending occurred under normal circumstances, and (3) videos have shown that the phone can bend under conspicuously abnormal circumstances -- i.e., intentional efforts to bend the phone. None of that evidences what people, including you, seem to be assuming: a defect that can cause the phone to be bent under normal circumstances.

Personally, I am more inclined to be skeptical of the stories of those alleging that the phones practically bend themselves, rather than being skeptical that a company known for its materials expertise has somehow decided to use a shoddy material on its flagship product. You might be more inclined to be skeptical of Apple -- and that's fine -- but it doesn't prove, or even tend to prove, that these phones are bending in the way people have asserted.

Can we at least agree not to assume the worst until there is some reason to do so?

Where did you watch it "bend so easily"? When someone filmed a video of themselves intentionally trying to bend it?

say wut
Industry standards, you use machines which are hundreds of times stronger than your fingers to test things. So if you can do it with your fingers, its easy to bend. Sorry to burst your bubble.

why did the iPhone 6+ walk across the street?

To get bent!

Haha. I dont think Apple is the industry joke standard tho. They'll rise out of this and learn a lesson hopefully for the iPhone 6+S

If Ford had a recall for a defective safety device, would you be embarrassed to drive it to work?

If you're embarrassed over the most popular smartphone on the planet, you have bigger issues than 8.0.1.

Apple dropped the ball, no question. But you can take it to the bank that they will make it right and 8.0.2 will fix their screw up.

In terms of bending...Really? Consumers honestly expect a glass covered computer at 7mm thin to be a strong as steel? If your pockets are too tight, do 1 of 3 things...lose weight, buy bigger pockets, or use a holster.

Too funny!

Well, if you followed Apple's instructions to back up your phone before applying the update, then just reset your phone according to Apple's instructions.

If you never back up your phone, then shame on you, and you'll know better next time.

Which pertains to.....collisions. I.e. Abnormal (ab)use.
Collision is a part of driving no matter how you drive. Putting your phone in your pocket and sitting is a part of using a phone. With that standard, the new iphone scores lower.

I've never seen a more insecure group of people. It's funny and sad all at the same time.

If people "making fun" of the cell phone you chose really bothers you then you might have to withdraw from the world and live life like a hermit. How in the world did yall make it through grade school? Being teased about a phone is nothing in comparison...

Who cares ? Ignore the haters.

Exactly, im chilling , as many, with the best smartphone on the planet right now

-best smartphone camera on the market(DxO laboratory study says this)

-best LCD to ever be put in a phone

-A GPU that is on par/slightly faster then the Adreno 420 in the 805

-a CPU that is the fastest in the smartphone market currently and offers performance close to Denver K1

-20 LTE bands(aka this is a real true world phone) no phone comes close to this but the 5S (S5 for the record only has 7 LTE bands)

-pretty dam awesome battery life and unparralled standby time that iPhone is known for

Screw the haters cause more then half of them dont know much

Who cares about what people think. I got the 6+ because I like it

Something tells me, we'll be going back to the 5S thickness. I don't understand the hype thinness. The 5 and 4 were perfect in depth.

I heard the same moans about the iphone 4 and it was quickly forgotten and went on to be one of Apples most succesful handsets. Arguably despite the bumper issue it was one of the best IPhones.
