If an iPhone gets dropped, it has a greater chance of getting dented, especially from 1 foot or more, depending on contact surface. And if the new rumor is true, it very well could be that the casing leads many to think that the steel won't dent, since it is steel. That kind of mindset is what I was speaking to, without going into detail.

If people will take a moment and think outside the quick to reply box for a moment, and consider the point I was making (albeit in brevity) it might lessen replies like your own, where people want to provide anecdotal evidence that their 4 or 4s etc. didn't bend, or that their mother's sister's cousin 3 times removed had a steel case phone that didn't bend.

I don't need a science lesson, thank you.
I think you might need a science lesson.
One foot drop on stainless vs aluminum. Stainless will hold up better. Aluminum is weaker....

I am not debating which is stronger. I know the difference. Read my post again without projecting what you want to see in, versus what it actually says.

I have not stated or implied that steel was not as strong as aluminum. If you got that from my two posts, you need to reread them, as that is not point. I made very clear in my follow-up post what I was attempting to convey.

If the best you can do for a reply is suggest I need a science lesson after reading my posts, don't bother replying to my posts anymore and wasting my time.

Don't necessarily think so. It's more of a back to the roots thing (for me at least) design wise. Full glass panels with stainless steel frame sounds much more like iPhone 4/s (iPhone 5/s in a broader sense) to me than Apple watch
I mean generally, of course the band is reminiscent of the iPhone 4 design but I assume it will be curved this time due to the rumored shape of the device.

Interesting about the 7s and 7s Plus. If they increase the thickness by the same margin the 6s and 6s Plus did over the 6 and 6 Plus, that would make the 7s Plus 7.5mm thick, or basically the same thickness as the iPhone 5. Strange occurrence for Apple products to get thicker twice in a row.

OMG, this phone will be like 2,500 easy! Just wait, Tim Cook and Angela will have another great idea, 20,000 for a gold edition!

Earpiece looks a bit low. Yay for higher end iPhones though, always thought the relative success of the SS and Hermes AW meant they could do the same with the iPhones.

Can someone explain why a vertical twin camera is more advantageous for VR than a horizontally mounted one?

I see it being more advantageous for AR, allowing for better tracking and resolving objects in 3D space.

You do if you create 3d content yourself, for other VR users to consume.

But what do the dual lenses offer VR other than stereoscopic video? With VR you want a full 360 degree view, which requires mouth more than dual front lenses. That's why I think this is more geared for AR, and regular stereoscopic video.

Apple bought this VR company a couple of years ago.

I wonder if the AR camera functionality is somehow related, or what was the purpose of that purchase?

That's not VR. That's motion tracking and mapping.

Eww please don't add that hideous vertical camera Apple. Vr is a gimmick anyway.

Ignoring the text of his article for a moment, just wanted to say that this mockup looks amazing, resembling my all time favorite 4 and 4S models.
I thought the same thing. I also like the 4S design, it was gorgeous. Glad to see it on huge 5.8 inch display with almost no bezels

I'm not even joking: My guess is that the OLED iPhone 8 will cost $1200
This is why I'm absolutely certain there will be a 7S and 7S plus.
Also, the OLED model will be limted and sold out in seconds.
The forum will rage, I can already tell.

Dual cameras on both 7S and 7S plus,
must be positioned vertically as well

My 7+ has poor signal quality vs my 6. I wonder if stainless steel will help improve signal strength?

I am sure you remember the iPhone 4 antennagate. The signal would be better only if you know how to hold the phone correctly.
