Am I the only one missing the point that she didn't take the photo? If somebody is to be fired for making a minor error (i.e. leaving the photo on the phone), then it'd be the person who took the photo. Now looking at the photo... she definitely didn't take the photo!

If she didn't pose for it and the picture was taken without her knowledge, then fine. But she smiled, flashed the peace sign, etc, she knew what was going on.

Would I fire her for this, hell no as it's pretty harmless. But as a manager I could see a case for potentially firing the person in the photo, it's evidence. I would have no idea who actually took the picture unless they confessed. :)

Thats brilliant! I think it would be great for every Chinese worker who makes your iPhones to take a snap of herself or her factory friends. Build bridges, make connections, a hello from a person you would never otherwise meet. Globalisation in practice.

chairman meow, great idea!! i'll take it a step further, not only snap pictures but if the want include their email addresses. start an email friendship movement between the usa, and other countries with china.
the iphone can be hailed as the bringer of world peace!!! steve jobs can be named world president...lol though that's a joke he'd probably do better then the ones in power now!!

hello,everyone

I'm from CHINA.I'm a fan of iPhone, though iPhone doesn't sell in our country.Today I read the news about iphonegirl.YES,our website has the address of this website,so I come to here to take a look of your opinion.
I want to tell you that it's lucky for her not to be fired, naturally she should de fired for this accident. But it doesn't cause a big problem, even promote the iPhone,so her boss didn't decide to fire her.

Am I the only one missing the point that she didn't take the photo?

No. You seem to get the point that she didn't take the photo, ergo, you're not the only one missing it. Q.E.D. ;)

I think it's great publicity for Foxconn & Apple, shows happy young people having fun on the production line. I bet some marketing guy somewhere is kicking himself for not thinking of this sooner (or, perhaps patting himself on the back for doing it!)

i'm surprised that there's not more "outcry" because the girl looks like she's 12.

In CHINA ,it's a normal phenomenon.Many companies empolies young persons to work.It's illegal.foxconn has another name,in chinese,it says"血汗工厂"

Proctologists make the best inspectors

As a "poster child" of happy workers, Apple may be able to get some positive PR mileage from this.

Skewed news

I'm from CHINA.... I want to tell you that it's lucky for her not to be fired, naturally she should [be] fired for this accident. But it doesn't cause a big problem, even promote the iPhone, so her boss didn't decide to fire her.
But did the person who took the photo of her get fired? :D

umm... you can see both her hands... did she take it with her penis?

China is a communist country. I'm sure they killed people (and their families) for less of a reason.

Are you on effen crack?? Why WOULDN'T the girl be fired?? I don't believe "Take pictures of yourself flashing peace signs and leave on the iPhone for a potential customer to see." is in her company handbook. :p

With that said, would I fire her? Hell no, as this seems pretty harmless. If I was her manager, COULD I fire her? Most likely.

If that girl did get fired it's entirely her own fault. You think Elliot Spitzer is going around blaming his *********, photographers, etc for his resignation? no, because it's his own damn fault. :p

glad she wasn't fired. no reason to have been. and hey, if people can't have fun in the work place, you'll just kill their morale and productivity/quality control will go down. the quality of apple products has been diminishing as of late, you might as well make sure the employees aren't fired for harmless little games/pranks so they still keep working and putting the devices together properly - even if the materials/design are flawed . . .

She and Who take photo didn't got fired

I am foxconn guy, the girl did not got fire, and the take picture girl also didn't got fired. But our Quality manage notice all the worker will be careful for this case, we change the work instruction, all the girl take photo only for iPhone box, no people, no production line, no others. etc..., after the test, each units will be restore by computer.

I think it is not better to the girl, she have been a super star, but she didn't like. You know, all the related news break hers normal life.

Hope all guys hold on about the information. You guys enjoy it, but drive the girl crazy!

:)

China is a communist country.
Now CHINA has become a capitalism country, though only one party comes into power.

I'm sure they killed people (and their families) for less of a reason.
It exists in many country over the world,no matter it's a communist country or a capitalism country, there's no difference among the essences of the governments in this star.:(

Thanks for the information. Makes a lot of sense. I'm sorry the girl didn't like all the publicity.

Isn't that the whole point, drive them crazy?

In any event onto more serious things. If you really are a Foxconn guy you should be able to supply us with a little info on the coming new hatware from Apple. So how about a few pics of Nanos laptops or what ever.

Dave

PS

Please inform the lady that she is beautiful!!!!

D

Guys, just drop it already. Try to put yourself in her shoes for a moment. Would you want to have a photo of yourself at work passed around the world if you were her? Probably not.

All this obsession people have for celebrity sickens me. We are all human beings with a right to privacy regardless of our job/vocation.

Don't be stupid. you really think she took that photo? she's IN the photo...

hmm, now that would be a nice feature on Camera... self timer.
