A few facts,
1) This was apples first entry into the phone market and has sold more handset then any other company in the same number of quarters.

2) The technicial developments that this first timer made is now the base standards that every new phone is compared to.

3) All of Palms ideas were stolen from Apple, period. They have no touched or updated their crappy little OS for years. Without apple they would be Out Of Business, and still may get there.

4) I am way better off having invested in Apple then any other company, like Nokia or Palm.

I like how apple has laid out a roadmap to get their device to perfection. They are not trying to force everything into the device at once and failing. Perfection is more important to them and I like that. Would I like things, sure, but I can wait. Overall a way better experience with some minor shortcomings.

1) Do you know how many handsets are shipped from Nokia? (Smartphone)? You are wrong on this point http://www.palminfocenter.com/news/7026/worldwide-smartphone-sales-grew-37-last-quarter/

2) Dead wrong, they (Apple) are playing catchup, all smartphones have been able to install apps, there have been app stores, touch wasn't new nothing Apple has brought is NEW.

3) No idea of palm, never used one

4) Nokia is a HUGE company and manufactures a LOT in house, your apple phone is made in china and designed by a brit. hmmm, NokiaSiemens do a lot of backhaul and infrastructure, they own Symbian that is shipped on Samsung handsets and, others, too.

"designed by a brit" lmao, thats kind of racist.
I don't think that we British have a problem being referred to as 'Brits', lol.
Anyways, I can be fairly sure, that whenever the new iPhone is launched, there will be lines and lines of people, outside Apple stores all over the place.

The same cannot be said of any other device, with any degree of certainty.

funny how some people miss the point that people wont but something when the replacement is about to be released, wonder why that is, lol

The general public has no idea that ANYTHING is about to be updated for anything: laptops, desktops, iPod, iPhone, software, you name it.
The masses know that iPods, notebooks and now iPhones, get updated, in general, once every year. As far as the iPhone goes, June 2007 was so huge, everyone knew about it. July 2008 was almost as big, and again, everyone knew about it. So it's already becoming tradition, for the average Joe, to expect a new iPhone around June time.

I'd have to disagree with most of these facts..

And the iPhone is the easiest phone to find on the rogers website..
It's the most featured phone on the wireless page.

Agree

I have to agree with that. Most people don't follow that sort of thing and never know unless it's posted in an ad or makes the nightly news for some reason.

All this thread makes me think about is:

Fact_Beets.jpg

For what it's worth Mythbusters uses an iPhone, and it's not a product placement because it's cased (you can only tell it's an iPhone by the apps they use).

Bears, Beets... Battlestar Galactica....

Hahaha!

Why is it every other phone maker and carriers are busting their ass to produce and sell an iphone clone? Are they trying to catch up? This is not rocket science.

your apple phone is made in china

Given that China is bankrolling the IMF which is going to help those countries that are doing especially badly in the financial crisis that must surely be a complement...

I do have to ask about the iPhone being doomed. Which other smartphone platforms have 25k applications and 800 million downloads?

FACTS
Blackberry Storm has been recently been shown in many T.V shows; Gossip Girl, 90210, Law and Order SVU, House, Samantha Who, and more. iPhone has only been seen ONCE on T.V. on one show, and that's Ugly Betty, who watches that?

iPhones are used on the show Lie To Me*.

Every Apple store I go to has iPhone displays, and I was at Best Buy the other day buying a CD and they even had one. I think it's funny also that 80% of my department at work has an iPhone and we work as a competitor of at&t :D
I don't think the iPhone is losing steam, I think people know a new one is coming out so they are waiting to see what Apple brings us.

I'm sorry 4.3 million is sales as the economy tanks is really damn good. I am inpressed that the sales stayed so high considering.

I'd like to reiterate a previous post. No one cares about CNET.

PLEASE DO NOT FEED OR TOUCH THE TROLL.
You can look though.
Seriously, this guy has 13 posts, all in this thread. He starts a thread based on twisted facts about a "failing" Apple product in an Apple forum just to see all of you argue and try to tear apart his poorly put together reasons.

I believe that is the exact definition of a troll.

I concur.
