I’ve seen multiple posts complaining about weightWhy? I don't know anyone who says their problem with phones is the weight.

The 2022 iPad Air is 6.1mm thin, more than 1mm thinner than the iPhone 13 mini. The iPad Air has a USB-C port.USB-C alone means they can't use the 13 mini chassis unchanged.
Touch ID is used in Apple’s lower priced iPads — and is now “parts bin” stuff and available if lower cost. Increasing thickness is optional but might allow use of lower cost (thicker) components, possibly even a lower cost IPS display, and relax some manufacturing tolerances.Increasing thickness or removing Face ID would only make it more expensive.
Perhaps, but a 12-14 (soon 12-15) form factor would probably cannibalize many more sales that would otherwise be iPhone 14/15 sales. An iPhone 13 mini size device (perhaps a little thicker) wouldn’t, not nearly as much anyway. Apple‘s goal with the SE should be to attract new customers to iPhone, particularly aspirational consumers in developing economies, and to minimize defections to Android. Hitting a ~$479 price target without overly cannibalizing higher priced phones seems best achievable with a more differentiated product. Today’s iPhone SE sports a 4.7 inch display. Maintaining screen size differentiation sure seems like the best way to hit both price and segmentation goals. The iPhone 12-14 style chassis was and is produced at a much higher rate and with the 15 will be USB-C ready with much less development effort.
You should try to get a 13 Mini. I upgraded from 12 Mini to 13 Mini when it was released and it was the perfect improvement. Battery life just better enough to not feel compromisedI love my 12 Mini. It's not for everybody, but it works for me. I'm thinking aboout a battery replacement to keep it going for several more years.
Edit: also, RIP selfies I guess lol
Sir its a smartphone. Its supposed to be used for smartphone stuff. Not just calls and messaging.Eh… what are you doing? Leaving your camera open all the time? I get 1&1/2 day to 2 day of usage out of my mini regularly.
... so? What are you trying to tell me with that? That does not change my statement at all, but have at ya.Sir its a smartphone. Its supposed to be used for smartphone stuff. Not just calls and messaging.
That's why I upgraded from my 12 mini (which I loved) to a 13 mini (which I love) last year when the 14s were announced. Slightly better speed, camera, battery life, but mainly I figured it would start losing OS updates etc. a year later than the 12 and I plan to hold out as long as I can before I'm forced to buy a bigger phone.I am still using my 12 mini and will not upgrade till there is a new mini. Maybe the next iPhone SE will be the mini with a new chip.
In my book the 13 Mini is the best phone Apple ever made. I hope my two units (one personal, one for work) will last a long time. I don't understand why it apparently didn't find its audience.![]()
The name is awful, it’s not sexy to have a mini of anything. They should make a small phone out of Titanium and call it iPhone Air - tout its lightness for working out or sticking it into skinny jeans.
They are not connected. They are just my personal criteria to make me buy a new iPhone. How are these two connected? When Apple allow side-loading, it will apply to all of their devices, right?
I think he means if you're not using massive amounts of screen time, you must be a filthy casual. Odd thing to flex on.... so? What are you trying to tell me with that? That does not change my statement at all, but have at ya.
