Majority of people will not be able to tell the speed bump and camera quality increase.

The majority of people will not compare the 6 to the 6s, but their 4s, 5 or 5s to the 6s. And in that respect the difference is substantial and it is a significant upgrade. The comparison between phones should not be made between consecutive models, but between the upgrades that people actually make.

The S line iPhones are almost ALWAYS very easy to obtain, just wait a couple weeks and you can walk in any store and get one

Apple is going to make sure they meet demand
Exactly.

If Apple sells out within minutes, they didn't make enough and people complain. If there's plenty of supply, then people automatically think sales are poor and complain about Apple failing.

NO one knows unless Apple releases sales numbers. I'd like to know how so many members here know sales figures already. Who's their direct Apple source?

Everybody has a right to buy whatever they want with their hard earned money. However I do agree with you that if a person who already has the last year model like myself should most likely skip this model, and just wait for the iPhone 7 thus giving people who still use a 4s, or even a 5 a better chance to get the 6s without too much of a delay. I do like the new color option this year and the 3d touch. However I don't think those factors are enough for me to blow another chunk of change for another phone so soon.

i never quite understood this ?

why must folks who decided to support Apple with their purchase of a 6, take a backseat so folks with an older phone could get the 6s ?

also , the post you quoted has another user claiming those who buy the 6s from the standard 6 are displaying 'crass consumerism' ?

'crass consumerism' to want the latest piece of wonderful tech, and innovation ?

i guess its okay for you write that . but there are those who would consider not updating 'crass', and that is also not nice !

i get everyone has opinions, and the ability to type on a keyboard, however lets keep the insults out of it !

When the iPhone 7 comes out with the new form factor, thus yielding lower production turnout, these same people will be complaining about how Apple didn't make enough

Pre-order supplies of the iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus in the United States are starting to dwindle a bit since pre-orders kicked off at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time, with several of the new iPhone models now displaying shipping estimates of 2-3 weeks. Models in the new Rose Gold color are the most heavily affected, particularly in the United States.

Update 2:00 PM: In the United States, essentially all iPhone 6s Plus models are currently listed with shipping estimates of at least 2-3 weeks, with some at 3-4 weeks. The smaller iPhone 6s remains in much better supply, with only Rose Gold models at T-Mobile and Verizon being pushed beyond the September 25 launch date.

Just as an FYI ... I ordered a 6S Plus Grey 64GB from AT&T via the AT&T app right at midnght day 1. At 00:02 AT&T was showing an October delivery. I suspect that was the "default" value for AT&T.

I don't get it either! I ordered one in the first 2-3 minutes of the ATT site going live at 12:01 and immediately it said that an estimate was set for Oct 16-23. I even had autofill and iCloud keychain on..somethings fishy.

Same DUDE. Like I'm actually pissed. Should we wait the EXTRA 3 weeks, or just campout side of a AT&T Store for like 6 hours? 6 Hours>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>3 Weeks

wireless charging would be great, bezel free design. Those are 2 features I'm looking forward too and I don't think are too far off.

iOS changes are also, not a huge fan of the current iOS aesthetics...

Continued improvements to core apps.

Still haven't found an email client I like on iOS. My work wireless blocks imap connections. So if I check gmail, I gotta use the gmail app. Which sometimes crashes and requires I reboot the phone to have it load up my email properly.

Why order from AT&T though? Apple.com is still showing availability for release day delivery for a lot of models.

Or is it to keep a plan setup you already had?

I am thinking your correct. My 128Gig 6S+ was ordered at 00:07 via AT&T and showing 10/16 delivery. I am sure it will move up.

I had to.....to keep my 2 year renewel and unlimited data. Apple wouldn't let us AT&T people upgrade with the 2 year renewel.
Ah ok, I understand now.

It will be interesting if it's really "October" ship dates or if that was just default (unless Apple only sent limited stock to AT&T). Hopefully you get it sooner!

Wireless charging likely come with the 7, just about every major device has it now. The Apple Watch has it also

bezel free is kind of pointless if the bezels are so small anyway, it's a not a TV, you actually have to hold and grip the phone

I placed two orders on T-Mobile for two of the 6s+ 64gb - space gray and silver. The first was placed around 4:12am for which I got an order number from the rep but no confirmation email.

The second order was placed around 11:15am with a confirmation email following not long after. I later checked my account and saw that the second order was showing. The first was still nowhere I be found. Called T-Mobile and was told that orders taken before 9am were entered into a different system which needed to be indexed before the information was available. The rep suggested I check back this morning. When I did, the first order was still missing.

Spoke to them again this morning and was told that they did in fact have the order. I later received a text from TMO saying:

'Thanks for your iPhone order. Your place in line is secure! It's taking longer than expected to send the order confirmation. Don't worry, it won't impact when you receive your new iPhone. We'll send a confirmation in the next 24 hrs.'

So anyone order early from T-Mobile with no confirmation email probably shouldn't worry.

Update: Turns out I did need to worry. T-Mobile called me a little while ago to say my first order hadn't been processed as they hadn't collected credit card info. To their credit, they did proactively call and sorted it out quickly. Hopefull my phone comes on time.

The 6S maybe, but not the 6S Plus. For some reason, Apple seems to assume the early adopters buy the same ratio as the regular iPhone buyers given that the 6 sold for much higher numbers than the 6+ by the time of the release of the 6S. I believe the 9/12 buyers are much more likely to be + buyers.

This all seems very confusing. For those with AT&T grandfathered unlimited plan, it seems that keeping a two year contract would be cheaper. Right? Changing plans would end up losing the grandfathered unlimited plan correct?

Speculation that is based on nothing. It is actually quite unrealistic that sidewall displays would ever happen on an iPhone, because there are precious few use cases that would support that technology. Most reviews on the Galaxy Edge emphasise the it is just a gimmick.
True but you know Apple. When they go it all of a sudden it's cool and necessary lol!

I'm not the one who said crass consumerism. That's why my first sentence in my post did state that any one has the right to spend his/ her hardearned money as they see fit. I like the 6s and I am a 6 plus user. I could get the 6s of i want too but I rather go for the iPad pro instead since my iPad 3 is broken. If you want to get a new iPhone after just getting the last year's model, please go right ahead! If it makes you happy just do it! I didn't mean to offend any one lol!

Yes as I have 2 grandfathered unlimited data and 2year agreement and was/is cheaper than going NEXT.

Not true. The 6 Plus struggles with its lack of RAM. The phone can slow down at times. The 6s Plus should not have this issue.

This happened last year as well -- my date moved up a few times. I think they are erring on side of caution -- UPOD
It did indeed. Last year mine moved up a week but not for a while. It seemed that the AT&T 6Plus 128GB SG also sold out last year at about 12:00:000000000000000000001 am and everyone was getting October ship times. I didn't pre-order this year but when I get the 6S Plus next month I'm ordering directly through Apple's website. When you order through AT&T, the phone first has to make the trip to their distro center, then to you. Order it from Apple and some guy at Foxconn hurls it into the UPS plane going right by your place. Like, a couple streets over or something. Much, much quicker and more accurate delivery info from Apple.

According to a rumor I read recently, AT&T will get rid of all contracts next year. This could be your last one with AT&T and next time you'll probably have to pay full price to keep your unlimited data, if keeping it is still an option.
