Maybe when Apple does a folding iPhone it'll be the size of a mini and just unfold for larger viewing. :p
Maybe the width and height of the mini, but not the thickness and weight. It’ll have more volume than the regular iPhone and thus not really be more pocketable.

if the foldable iphone is the size of the mini and has an exterior screen, I'll never open it.

Why do much hate for iPhone Mini lovers?
Hate is not the right word here. What we are seeing is the market moving in a direction that some people dont like. Im sure some people prefer physical cd but the majority is going with streaming.

What I mean is that some people I know probably would have bought a new phone by now judging from the state of their device but they like the form factor so much that they'd rather keep using it for as long as possible, since there is nothing they can upgrade to at that size.

But I agree that a phone should easily last 4-5 years. I get the battery replaced then give my 3 year old phones to my parents and they easily get another 3 years out of them, often totaling 6 years for an iPhone.
Yeah my iPhone 6 got a life from 2014-2018 from me, and then from 2018-2022 with my relatives who didn't need it for much. There's definitely downsides to running a device that long ultimately out of support status, but the hardware on these things absolutely can last beyond the battery. I picked up my 13 mini last year and I was planning on using it until at least 2026, but Apple not producing a new one to upgrade just lets me do the environmentally and price-conscious thing of keeping it longer if push comes to shove

Man, looking at an old iPhone 6 I have sitting around really makes me miss Jobs. So svelte and sleek, I could just imagine that form factor with a larger screen. Today's iPhones are just bricks.

Apple is going bigger on their primary lineup so that in a couple years they can sell you a sleek foldable.
Hmm, maybe we’re seeing a preview of what the iPhone fold’s front screen dimensions will be? A 6.3” front screen unfolding to ???
They're already too big! Stop it.
Some of us just want a pro mini...

That’s not going to work though - the battery won’t be “Pro” size & hence your whole experience won’t be “Pro” because you’ll be charging it constantly.

Unfolding to an iPad Mini? This type of folding iPhone could actually run iOS when folded and iPadOS when unfolded. It wouldn’t be the first time an Apple device ran two separate operating systems, if we remember that certain MacBooks ran macOS and bridgeOS. The main problem with a folding iPhone is that it would have to be thicker and heavier to maintain structural integrity.

The next SE is rumored to be based on the regular iPhone 14, sadly. No more smaller iPhones.
And that urinates me off, man! As an avid cycling enthusiast, the SE is the only iPhone that fits sideways in the back pocket of a jersey, so it doesn't fall out when the rider hits a surface imperfection. My wife and I were were riding behind a young woman when it happened to her. She had the full size iPhone 13, and when she hit the gutter between the parking lot and the trail, it bounced right out, and she had no idea. I retrieved it and then had to bust my butt to chase her down and return it to her.

And no, I don't want a 21st century flip phone, either!

At this point Apple, start selling pant belts. If these phones get any bigger or heavier, I’m out of places to conveniently carry with me.

I use a 13 mini and a friend of mine had the 12 mini and got the 15 pro this year.

He made a valid point that the 15 pro is the closes width to what the X was. Something I had never picked up on, I’d always felt the 12s felt just that little bit too wide.

With the mini gone I was hoping the pro would keep the sub 70mm width :(

I want it wider, the fact its getting smaller width worries me, unless the bezel will get smaller again, I dont like tall but not wide, it makes phone look smaller
