lol, that's fine by me. I still have my 13 mini (2 of them) and it's just another reason to save more money every year they don't release a reasonably sized phone. I'll switch to a dumb flip phone before I buy one of these monstrosities. Besides, they keep making the "lock screen" more stupid every year, allow us to freaking disable the camera and torch when the phone is not locked. smh

And yet they won’t let have the software to use a cellular iPad Pro as a full fledged phone.

I remember Phil Schiller saying something along the lines of "it's easy to make a more powerful/better device that's bigger, everyone does that, what is hard is making something better that is smaller."

iPhones are all way bigger and thicker than they used to be. They were also very heavy until the 15 Pro titanium models. They make the cameras better but also bigger. The phones and the cameras in them are enormous. And they feel the need to offer 10 different SKUs of every giant phone without any smaller offering. It doesn't matter how few small phones they may sell. There is a market for it. If they can justify Vision Pro, they can afford to make iPhone mini for the 1 percent who want it.

I haven't bought a 15 PM even though I'm on the annual upgrade program (have a 14PM now). One reason is that it is the largest size I can tolerate. Especially given I still feel a case is required. The 16 PM will definitely be too large a phone for me. I hope they carry pro motion over to the 16 pro model, unlike the 15 series.

Particularly with the iPhone 5, it was lighter and smaller in volume than the device it replaced yet had a larger screen and was better in pretty much every way.

I mean, the 2nd gen iPhone SE sold something like 21 million units in its release year. It outsold every flagship phone except the iPhone 12 (11?). EVERY phone, meaning other iPhone models, every Samsung flagship device, etc.

The problem isn’t “if they can”, we know they can, the problem is return on investment. I’m assuming that the bigger devices are facilitating content consumption and that is what most people are doing these days, even in Apple’s annual events they’re pushing games and video.. activities which are more enjoyable on larger screens. So, the question becomes “will enough people buy a smaller device to justify changing all of the fabrication processes needed to make those devices”? My guess is “no” since the mini models are no longer being sold.

I loved my iPhone 4s And would happily go back to that device size, but I’m guessing that is not where society is steering manufacturing to be.

For me I always go for the largest phone due to battery life and better cameras. I don’t buy a new phone every iteration though. I pay off the one that I have and depending on the features I may or may not upgrade. I would love them to come out with a feature that can measure sugar levels though.

I’m a sucker for big screens but maybe i can switch from a max size to a regular pro, 6.3 seems like a nice in between size…
I thought I could but I can’t. It’s just too small. I like the extra screen space and the bigger text, too. Everything is better except holding it. It seems like a great idea until you realize that extra size gave you a much more enjoyable experience.

I really want Apple to create a pair of glasses that I can wear and no longer even need a screen to carry around. I envision that happening in the next ten years since they’re working on the Vision Pro. And in 20 years we will probably have contacts or something that goes into our eyes to augment reality or be right in a movie.

Maybe it will all run off a Watch wirelessly? But tech always amazes me. That’s the thing I think Apple is missing. I don’t think they’re creating new tech fast enough. They lost their creative mind in Steve, and Tim was afraid of Scott so ousted him. I believe Apple gives people exactly what they want - like the new MacBook Pro… I prefer Apple give us something new that we didn’t know we wanted to begin with. Think car > horse! iPhone > phone moments.

Give us something new. The Vision Pro is a step in the right direction. People on here moan about it, but I think it’s by far the best thing AAPL has done, in terms of finding the future, with Cook in charge.

I think it will be nice when something the size of an iPhone fits in my pocket and wirelessly sends all the signals to my lenses… can’t wait for the future. That’s the better iPhone experience.

What's this thing's RAM capacity? Some Androids are now pushing 24 GB.

Apple shouldn't be increasing screen size, it should be improving its internal tech specs. It's like they'll move heaven and Earth to keep RAM from increasing on any device.

When they make so much profit each year it's difficult to imagine Apple will ever deviate from this safe iPhone strategy.

It's a shame. You'd think with such deep pockets, they'd think outside of the box and try foldable phones or devices with flexible displays. Instead, we're getting a high end Quest.

No!!!!!

Such a thing has been proven to wear out much faster and really just a gimmick. Two screens in a foldable configuration sounds a better option, but complexity comes with more problems.

Remember the iPhone was the first to eliminate the flip function, which is why everyone else followed Apple's example. Going back to foldable is a step back.
