Enough Already!

I know that (all most) everyone would love to have the iPhone on Verizon. Frankly I don't see that happening anytime in the near future. I was not having an easy time coming up with a list of succinct reasons of why I believe this when I was reading Daring Fireball and followed a link to this blog article: Whither Verizon

I totally agree with the authors assessment of the situation. So, enough already. There will never be a CDMA iPhone for use on Verizon or Sprint for that matter. Period. :apple:

A) Crappy title
B) Crappy repost
C) You'll learn the hard way

i agree tho macrumors keeps posting unproven info from known unreliable resources on the front page.

I can't remember how many times I read articles that iPhone is coming to Verizon, or Sprint. A bunch of analysts making predictions based on rumors.

Apple has never made hardware modifications to the iPhone in order to get into another market. Oh wait...

This is yet another thread brought to you by a poorly informed member who joined in the last year.

while this is true all they did was remove something not alter. also they had no choice for that market where in the us they do.

I think you're confusing market with country. In the US there are many cell phone markets Apple has get to join. Many people don't have AT&T in their area, some people are on their employers plan that is with either Verizon or Sprint and some people just can't stand AT&T.

Apple did not have to bring the iPhone to China, they chose to.

Apple: Sorry we haven’t talked in a while. Where did we leave off?

Verizon: We were discussing where our logo would fit on the back of your phone.

Apple: [click]

That's pretty funny, and pretty true. Only question now is how bad does Apple want to do the deal now that it's facing its first real threat ever (Droid)?

Or how badly Verizon wants it. I'd be willing to bet that Verizon still wants it and they see now that every carrier in the world has allowed the iPhone w/o branding.

Hey everybody. I have a question. I know that nothing is certain with the iPhone and Verizon and I just want everybody's opinion.

I got a Droid Incredible, but I'm not sure if I want to activate it yet. It used my family's only upgrade, and the next upgrade we get isn't until November, and it wouldn't be my turn to get it anyway. So should I return the phone in case Verizon gets the iPhone and just wait it out a few days?

Apple needs to start selling their phones to Sprint. T-mobile And Verizon.

I mean, it would be insane!!!

p.s.

I hate carriers and branding their phones. I don't want to own an evo or incredible and have SPRINT and Verizon written on it. YUCK!

Nobody can answer that 100%. You could figure it out on your own just as well as anybody here.

But I'll state my opinion; IF Verizon get's the iPhone, it'll be later this year, sometimes in 2011 or 2012. Either way, it won't be announced in a couple of weeks.

To quote John Gruber..

There are a lot of reasons not to hold your breath waiting for a Verizon iPhone, and Matt Drance does a good job running them down here. The Apple Store angle is one that hasn’t gotten much attention.

But: I think it has to happen eventually. It’s just a matter of when.

Notice John doesn't use the word "never" as you did. He has the exact attitude I do, don't hold your breath, but it will happen one day.
