who wouldn't want this?? revolution
Even if the price was the same as existing iPhone pro I still wouldn't want it because it would be too thick when folded, I don't need a bigger display and the outer display I might use a lot would be smaller. That said I think there will be a good many that want it but it won't come close to displacing the iPhone pros top place in iPhones.

Even apple park has curved glass..but bending glass 10 times a day at that degree..no matter how thin it is it will break, is not a matter of if but when..sooner than later. People believe this like i saw they believed true efficient wireless charging without causing cancer
Physics
One of my childhood friends was a construction contractor at Apple Park. They broke so many of the glass panels while building the place they lost count.

Making the crease a bit less visible than some other devices hardly “solves” a “key problem”, does it?

Because the notch is fine, whereas a crease looks bloody awful.
The notch is fine because the Dynamic Island is so useful and so well implemented. A crease is not only visually annoying but tactically annoying as well. They really need to nail the folding area for it to take off.

There's a difference between an item you place on your desk and one you hold in your hand and in your pocket 😉
I agree that I don't want bigger for a phone and I suspect 80% or more users would agree. But this foldable phone is for some in that 20% or less group. Any extra users Apple can grab from Samsung and others is a win for them. We all need to remember that not everyone is like you or me.

the device will have improved screen quality and overall durability compared to competing foldables.
Let’s hope. It’s the main issue with Foldables - paying all that money for such a fragile inner screen.

I also wouldn’t mind if Apple called it the iFold or iPhold even 😂

Tim: This solves 2 things, the board getting off my ass to make a foldable and getting me to finally win at poker?
Craig: Sir?
Tim: I can now fold!
John: Sir I can take over now if you wish…
Tim: This green rod actually is going to take over…

The sheer amount of love for notches and cutouts is crazy to me. The compromise isn’t worth it to me when there is a fine alternative in Touch ID.
The sheer amount of love for Touch ID is crazy to me. FaceID is far superior in every way. I still can’t unlock my iPad Air with Touch ID.

Meh. A flip iPhone would be an iPhone when flipped and an Apple Watch when closed, but then there’s less incentive to buy an Apple Watch except for health tracking sensors…
No that makes no sense whatsoever…

There is a market for smaller discrete phones, however apple resolved this by getting rid of their entry level phone and introducing the iPhone Air… however average the sales…

I’m not suggesting that a Flip iPhone would be a massive seller, but there is a reasonable market out there for a small phone, especially with young females… Samsung have proved that already…

Hmmmm, you think it's one or the other? If someone doesn't "hate" something, they must "love" it? No... it's possible to just not be bothered by it. The notch doesn't bother me on the iPhone at all. And I wish I could afford a newer phone with the Dynamic Island cuz it just looks so cool, and I have yet to experience it.

What are you using your phone for where the notch or cut-out bothers you so much? Watching videos? Playing games?

As for Touch ID, I think it still has a lot of life left in it. Super convenient on my MacBook Air. Face ID would be a nice upgrade, and I'm surprised that hasn't come to Macs yet, but maybe there's a justification in intentional physical contact rather than just being in front of the laptop to unlock it?

There are a lot of people out there now with no brains including me. It's amazing that I can still type a response 😎
Exactly...Just imagine needing to call people brainless because they have different opinions and likes than you. That must be a tough way to exist.

I used to thinker a lot when I was a kid. One of the tricks I learned was that if I bent a piece of metal back and forth several time, I could snap it in two. Reminds me of the folding phone problems, and how such phones tend to have a streaky line of major screen failure right where the crease is. And Apple's warranty is for one year. This is a device you'll absolutely want to spend for AppleCare.
