Then my apologies. I feel like we are getting different responses.l from different reps. Anyone have Tim's number?

You can email tcook@apple.com and if you lay out your email well with concerns and questions, someone from his executive office will likely get back to you. Actually, I think I will also send an email to see if they can provide some answers.

I may as well. Ive heard other people say that reservations are only to sign up for the plan and not get a phone that day which I don't see that happening.

Has anyone else checked on if Apple will let you switch from a reserved iPhone paid in full up front to the Apple Upgrade Program?

I called today and I was referred to the Apple Store I reserved at. I called them and they didn't have an answer for me.

Anyone else get an actual answer?
I was told that you could switch

What is your point? I said unlocked sim-free, not contract free. Since nobody has one yet, we aren't sure if they are carrier locked still. Plus the AT&T and T-Mobile phones look to be different models this year, which is odd since they are both GSM. People who have Cricket, Straight Talk, Net 10, etc. are still stuck not knowing if the phones will work. Verizon's will be carrier unlocked due to the FCC, but you can't buy a Verizon one without a Verizon account on Apple's website currently. You also cannot buy an AT&T one, or Sprint one without an existing account. T- Mobile is the only one you can order without an existing T-Mobile account.

I'd love to order an at&t model, since I use Straight Talk with a SIM that uses AT&T's network, but I can't because it requires an AT&T account. I ordered a T-Mobile one for now, so hopefully that is unlocked and works on AT&T's network. It's still missing the new AT&T band 30, though.
Every phone sold at full price on apple.com is unlocked, period. We have this debate every year.
I got an email, but it doesn't show that I have any reservations in the Apple Store app
the app only shows genius appointments

I'm curious to see what kind of credit score you need

I've read in previous posts that they don't really run a credit score. But that they are going to check the credit card that you use to make sure you have enough money available to pay for three months of payments, but maybe someone could clarify that for me.

I'm pretty sure you can pay it outright if you don't qualify. In the Faq, it states

Can I change the iPhone Upgrade Program to a different purchase option?
You can also purchase your iPhone through carrier financing or at full price. Ask a Specialist in store for more information.
.

I think the reservation is just reserving your phone and at the time of your pick up you just choose how you want to pay for it. Whether it be iPhone UP, carrier financing or at full price.
