I'm quite happy with the OS 11 update... It's faster on my 7/128 than 10 was. However, I've got this odd quirk... Either Music or Pandora will randomly start playing music... Regardless of whether or not the app is open.

Anyone else?

yes mine does that as well but i had the beta installed

My iPad Air 2 chews through the battery quite a bit faster then it did under iOS 10 and isn’t as smooth anymore. It runs ok, but it’s full of micro-stutters here and there. I’d hope the A8X is still powerful enough to run it fast and smooth. Hopefully they improve it with the next update.

.

Nice idea, but there are text message threads I dont want to lose. Setting up as a new device and not restoring from backup removes all my photos, text messages, settings, documents etc.

Frankly, this is a unix based operating system. Full system wipes shouldnt be that necessary...it's not Windows
Hmmm if you don’t mind you could screenshot the latest messages so you have a reference of where they left off. Apple turned off iMessage in iCloud for now.

My iPhone 6 is staying way clear of 11.
I don't need the yearly device-breaking update from Apple to force me into a hardware upgrade, like iOS 8 was to the iPhone 4S. (Which was made absofudginlutely unusable with iOS 9. Like it just doesn't work.)

iPad Mini 2 performance is poor under iOS 11. Glad I had that to test iOS11 on. Going back to ios10 has proven a challenge, not sure I can find the time to learn how to do that kind of thing before Apple makes it impossible.

Also I don't get why ARKit isn't compatible with my devices, as augmented reality apps already exist, especially the "map the sky" and "what's that plane" apps which worked on iPhone 4S.

Apple fails to communicate of crucial aspects of their OS's limitations on older devices. I don't know wether there is a diclaimer on the update notification,

Zero problems on an SE and 6s here. Phones work with the same (probably better!) performance than before. Not a single crash. Everything is flawless and snappy.

My iPhone 7+ feels like a 4 year old iPhone on iOS 11. It's horrible!! Didn't do any betas.

Well it's difficult to tell if the performance is better because there were no issues when running iOS 10.x. Apps open instantly, no crashing. Same under iOS 11, and there's likely optimizations that are going unseen.

Had the sluggishness/battery drain problem with a 6S this weekend. Restoring the phone as a new device, and then installing the backup solved the problems.

iPhone 7 user here with iOS11. The only noticeable lag that I've experienced is the jitter in the 3D touch animation. It's definitely not smooth and quick compared to iOS 10.3.3. Yes it's jittery enough to actually be annoying (for me)

Aside from that, I didn't make any notes to make objective differences in over-all performance.

No problems here with my 7. Is this a widespread issue or just hey let’s put it on the front page because will be good for trolling and clicks?
No.

It’s the real deal.

My wife and I both have 7+. We both updated with no problems. Now, however, my phone is working fine. Hers is unuseable. Everything is crashing or freezing. It’s actually unlike anything I have ever seen on iOS. I’m going to try a full restore of her phone.

So no, it’s not a fabrication for “trolling and clicks”.

With the new iOS Update 11, my iTUnes shared library doesn't work anymore with my iPad Air (neither my iPhone) seems the new app (now in Canada) TV that replaced video, is the problem.
I can see my shared library, but it's very slow to connect and then, if I chose a video, after 30 seconds I get "request expired"
Everything is ok with the Apple TV
Any ideas?
I restarted my iPad, force restart... nothing works
Any hints before I try Apple?

Just out of curiosity does the Battery -> Last 24 hours percentage in the settings app show anything unusual?
Well, WhatsApp is showing 36% usage, with 4,5 hours of running in the background and 28 minutes on screen. I'm not sure what the numbers were on my previous iPhone, but it does seem a bit odd. At least, considering how shortly I've had it on-screen.

And the Camera was at 18%, but the time usage of 26 minutes looks correct to me. And as for the percentage: I've used 4K@60FPS for a minute, portrait mode for at least ten minutes and the rest was using the normal camera. But still... 18% usage for 26 minutes of actually using it.

Overall nothing major, but considering it's an iPhone 8 Plus I'd assume it would have much better battery life compared to my regular 7.

The Camera app on my iPhone 5S has become very slow to open since upgrading to iOS 11. It is no longer a device where I can take quick "chance" photos - typically the moment has passed by the time the camera is ready. My cheap Huawei Android "second phone" is now faster to launch. Hopefully this will be addressed in a future update.

Ive had major battery drainage.

last night drained form 100% to 70% in 6 hours. Battery status is very good and app usage was generally unremarkable with no clear indicators. Already done a wipe and restore from backup but the battery drain problem persists.

After some days of usage on an iPhone 7+ I don't think what we see is actual lag due to performance. It feels like all animations have more frames so they take more time to complete, so they lag when one is close to another.

A good test: Open an app, and immediately hit the home button 2 times to get to the task switcher. The task switcher will wait before it starts its animation (but it will be smooth when it does). I think it can easily be solved with an update.
