iPhone will deliver on June 23rd email proof....

Delivery date on the FedEx site may or may not be updated to reflect the new delivery date. That is why Apple sent the noticed out, otherwise people would see the 24th, not be around on the 23rd then get pissed when they discovered they missed the delivery guy.

Tomorrow AM we will see "package on van," or "package on fedex vehicle," and we'll be off to the races.
 
I got the e-mail also and my credit card has been charged. Now I have to make arrangements with my boss to change my vacation day to tomorrow vice Thursday, with the proviso that I may need Thursday off also if it doesn't come tomorrow as I need to be home to sign for it. I think I can do this.
 
I got the email too this morning. What a way to wake up!

Its odd because, when I track my phone it still says its in Alaska, unlike the majority of people saying they got the email and their phone is in the states.

Oh well, I guess i'll find out tomorrow!

Called it. One day early. They want to ease the pain on activation servers.

It likely says that it's departed Anchorage, which means that it'll be at a hub soon and at your local office.
 
After last weeks server meltdowns at Apple. & ATT, delivering a day early shows that somebody at :apple: is thinking.

Just imagine what would have happened on tThursday if we allntried to activate simultaneously.

Agree - I am glad Apple is doing this early delivery.

Although my iphone ordered from Apple has not been scanned or updated as in Anchorage yet while my wife's iphone order from AT&T shows a UPS tracking number that begins in Memphis, TN as of this morning. I wonder if the AT&T order will arrive tomorrow as well? And I never even received any confirmatory information from AT&T about that order...

I think that just means that it checked in at a hub and they were able to update the order. Mine says departed from Anchorage as of late afternoon yesterday so it's likely just waiting to be scanned and moved to the local office.

this wouldn't have any bearing on activations until late morning or mid day anyway for each time zone when fedex actually starts delivering. 7 am est is still going to be a crush of activations on ATT and iTunes servers no matter what day the pre-orders are delivered. bottom line is, there are still the exact same number of reserved for pickup phones that will be accessing servers for activations.

and it is going to be the same every hour per time zone. sure, the early deliveries may help a small bit, but we will still see huge traffic all day.:(
 
Got same email early this morning but fedex still says 24th. Ordered from apple. Past experience says 24th but then again apple never had this happen so we really have non idea what they may or may not do.

Someone should call apple,record the convo and post here ton confirm so we can stop the thread from growing out of control
 
My package is in Newark, NJ right now. Tracking is still showing: Estimated delivery Jun 24, 2010 by 4:30 PM. Others have reported that their tracking has changed to Estimated delivery Jun 23, 2010. I am taking a half day off from work tomorrow (going to tailgate and Philles game). I hope the Fedex guy delivers the package by 12:30pm. Once I see that my tracking has changed, maybe I'll call the fedex hub and make sure they delivery it by noon. I will be at work (business), so that may not be a problem anyway.
 
I just got the email too...awesome!!

Tracking says 24th but it is now in Oakland CA and I'm in Los Angeles, so easily feasible.
 
hmmmm the ATT sales girl was right. she said she heard a rumor that apple was going to deliver i4s a day early to avoid a server meltdown. i guess i have to wait till thurs... jealous!
 
I also recieved this email - very strange.

My fed ex info says Jun 23rd by 10:30am, but the package is still listed as in Alaska.

Very exciting if this is true!
 
My day off is thursday (I didn't take it off its the start of my weekend) so I will have to drill into my wife to not leave the house on wednesday till after the fedex guy comes, and when I get home activate the phones cause well if she did it I would have to get more phones, she would find a way to break them because technology seems to hate my wife. :D

really???? My tracking doesn't show anything. i pre-ordered and was told thursday despite what apple is doing. weird...
 
So given this turn of events - will activations be held until the 24th or will they go ahead and open them up tomorrow (23rd)?
