Hmm, I live just outside San Francisco and my tracking still shows my package as "In Transit" from Alaska. I don't understand how my phone could be on a different flight?
I'm one of the ones that got this, but I'm assuming its an automated email that's simply using the date in their system. And the date in the system for many of us has always been the 23rd, but we also know Apple tells Fedex to hold it until the 24th. I have a feeling this is an unfortunate mistake that Apple will apologize for soon.
Well I guess we'll all find out on June 23rd if it was a typo or not.yup... Someone probably made a typo
I wonder how much staggering they plan to do... is it just Apple orders or are some AT&T orders going to deliver early too--they're just not smart/courteous enough to send out an email stating as much?
Being that I'm phoneless after selling my 3G and shipping it off today, it'd be rad to get it early!
That's exactly what my tracking says and I live in the bay area.

You would think its a blanket OK to deliver all iPhones early. It wouldn't make sense for FedEx to have to sort which ones to hold and which ones to deliver.
At least it doesn't make sense to me.
They held my iPad for THREE DAYS in Alaska before shipping to Indianapolis the night before delivery, then it went to Dallas the same night and arrived in Fort Worth at 9am the next morning. My guess is they are doing the same thing with the iPhone...they will hold it in Anchorage facility for 3 days before it it shipped off to distribution then goes to the local FedEx regional and then to your city or town.
Mine left Alaska in less than a day and is now in Oakland. They held my iPad for THREE DAYS in Alaska before shipping to Indianapolis the night before delivery, then it went to Dallas the same night and arrived in Fort Worth at 9am the next morning.
