w00t!!i just got both of the emails from both of my orders from Apple looks like im getting it the 23rd aswell :D!.

Hmm, I live just outside San Francisco and my tracking still shows my package as "In Transit" from Alaska. I don't understand how my phone could be on a different flight?

Mine is also still in transit from Alaska. My guess is that they all go to the Memphis sorting center and then sent out from there.

it's TRUE

YESSSS !!! lol

I wonder how much staggering they plan to do... is it just Apple orders or are some AT&T orders going to deliver early too--they're just not smart/courteous enough to send out an email stating as much?

Being that I'm phoneless after selling my 3G and shipping it off today, it'd be rad to get it early!

Facepalm deserved. It's almost 2AM and I probably shouldn't operating a computer or any heavy machinery. I'll make sure I click the right button next time.

I ordered one from Apple for my brother and he just received this email.

(I ordered 2 for myself and other bro from ATT.com... and we got the ATT shipped confirmation.)

I'm one of the ones that got this, but I'm assuming its an automated email that's simply using the date in their system. And the date in the system for many of us has always been the 23rd, but we also know Apple tells Fedex to hold it until the 24th. I have a feeling this is an unfortunate mistake that Apple will apologize for soon.

if that is the case, it will be bad news for everyone in this thread hah. i'm just happy to get the phone on the 24th and not have to wait all the way until July.

You would think its a blanket OK to deliver all iPhones early. It wouldn't make sense for FedEx to have to sort which ones to hold and which ones to deliver.

At least it doesn't make sense to me.

YES!

GOt the email from apple - and is scheduled to be here June 23!! I can't wait :)
(current tracking shows package is in Oakland, CA at this moment: June 21, 10:09pm)

It would be interesting to know the story behind this... activation issue prevention, delivery logistics, etc... got the email too.

damn how are you living right now without ur iphone ????

I'm betting this email was intended to allay the fears of folks who were given ship dates stating they'd arrive after the 24th. And since its automated, its using the 23rd, which is the date they intended all the iphones would be delivered to the hubs. Expect clarification and possibly an apology soon.

Just got the email as well. My order has always said the 24th, so I remain a bit skeptical. Would be a nice surprise to get it one day early, but it's only one more day.

They held my iPad for THREE DAYS in Alaska before shipping to Indianapolis the night before delivery, then it went to Dallas the same night and arrived in Fort Worth at 9am the next morning. My guess is they are doing the same thing with the iPhone...they will hold it in Anchorage facility for 3 days before it it shipped off to distribution then goes to the local FedEx regional and then to your city or town.

LOL it's gonna be so fun playing with my iPhone 4 while other people are lining up just for a chance to buy one.

Just got the email too! Crap looks like I might have to take Wed & Thurs off this week.... Mine said the 24th but I just got the email for the 23rd!:D

Maybe Apple is trying to thank or make up for the preorder fiasco! :D:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

I just got the same email and came here to post about it. Yay! I'm tired of side talking on my N-Gage.

But to FedEx, they aren't looking for certain iPhones...to them they're just more packages, they just happen to be from the same place. I can't imagine it's any stretch on FedEx's resources to hold the majority while also passing some others along.

My iPhone is already in the US, according to FedEx.

Just got my email as well. My FEDEX tracking always said the 24th, but email seems legit. I guess we will see. That would be nice to be walking around with an iphone 4 the day before launch.

Mine left Alaska in less than a day and is now in Oakland.
