iPhone X - AT&T activation time

It may take a few minutes hours to activate your phone.
I got to that screen once. I finally got to the "confirm number" and then hit "next". Instead of a "try again" I got a spinning wheel, which kept on spinning. I had to reboot, but next time I'll just let it ride.
Has anyone who got the spinning wheel eventually gotten though?
that's exactly what my screen looks like. dumb ups dude and late in the day delivery . . .I left out a detail actually. They said that the phone should show up in iTunes. Instead, I am getting this. They also said they can see it on their end as well.
I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Mine has been that way for almost an hour with no change.
Every time I make it to the phone number part I get a glimmer of hope.......and then.....blah

It's definitely on Apple's end. My phone shows bars and it gave me the option to try again over cellular to clearly theres a connection to ATT. Apple's servers just cannot activate it

What a complete joke. Spend all day looking forward to unboxing and setting everything up, just to face this. I know its a first world problem but it gets old when you pay money for something that doesn't work.

Between this crap and my wife's phone stuck in the Nov 17-24 debacle (when it showed Nov 3 the whole way until confirmation email) Apple is on a roll.
