Does the black one have problems with scratches?

Not really, the Apple Watch has a DLC finish (not sure if the X has that). But it can still scratch and there is no way to buff that out. With plain stainless steal sliver, it was easy to remove scratches.

How can you be sure with the white they don't anodize or paint the steel like the black one?

I'm going silver this time, especially since black isn't as nice as the 7 Plus jet black. Plus silver looks more like the original iPhone. :)

It's quite black, while the white you were referring to is in fact silver

omg that camera bulge... kind of giving up on buying the x because of that.

why dont they just use a camera that fits inside???

White, from al the hands on I've seen, the black back is gonna look smudgy all the time, while the silver/white one has that less noticeably.

Because that would be a worse camera.. Essential phone did that (and google pixel but that thing is so thick that it doesn't really count) and everybody is ******** on the Essential phone camera.

The black iPhone X has the exact same stainless steel as the white one (not anodized or painted), it just looks darker in the pictures because of the black back.

I actually went and looked at the 8/8+ in store to see what the silver and black look like in person. I personally was not a fan of the black. It looked like a milky black if that makes sense, almost smokey. The silver looked much better to me, and I will be ordering a silver. The fact both have a black face made the decision easier.

edit: For those saying "white". If you see a good hands on, and the apple description, it is silver.

The black doesn’t have the polished SS around it, it is coated with a process, kind of similar to the black SS Apple Watch, it is not the exact same process and I don’t remember the technical term.

Have you seen the phone? This is not the case.

I plan to pick up the silver/white phone, but always struggle finding a case color that compliments white. Any suggestions?

I am going silver as a throwback to the OG iphone...

The color scheme looks very similar.

I highly suggest people taking a look at the 8/8+ in person to see the black. It looked a lot different than I was thinking.
