iPhone X Color - Black or White? [MERGED]

PVD is used on a lot of watches and it's definitely not as durable as DLC (used on the Apple Watch) there is a lot of talk about durability and scratches on watch forums e.g.

I have seen it in beautiful realistic images that my colleague at Apple event took. From what I see both are amazing but I recommend black one

The silver X is close enough to white, and with the black face, that for the 1st time since the 3GS I will be purchasing something other than Black/Space Gray

I have a SG 256GB 8+ and the color is truly stunning.....but that silver that is basically white is AMAZING. I always get the darkest colored phone though as white is a little too flashily for me. But it was tough to not get it lol. I would highly consider it were I getting the X.

If I was getting the 8/8+ I would have done black because the white face bothers me. Like you said, the X having the same front on both makes the decision to get silver easy.

Yep. Same for me. I wouldn’t even get it if the back was silver but that milky white back has me pining for it. I guess they are calling it silver because of the stainless steel band?

I agree though I will say it looks white more often than not to me. At least on the 8+. But it sure is gorgeous!

I prefer how the screen blends in with the black border on the black iPhone. No worries with that on the iPhone X silver I’m leaning towards silver for something different. I like the white glass back and silver stainless steel bezel combo.

I'm not sure which to choose, as won't see it as will probably try to pre-order.

I started using a case with the 6, so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Off course not. That will be too many people I have to thank to and there will be too much drama too thank you for your question.

I just enjoy to hear and read about a lot of potential buyers will purchase the white color. As I love jet black or any black color too.

I remember how quick black color was sold out on previous cycles. I am glad not this time. Thanks to Apple and all other potential silver color buyers for making it happen.
I am so excited.

Does anyone know if the space gray version's stainless steel part has DLC coating on it?

I dont think it would be possible (at least difficult to maintain) to have a reliable dark color on stainless steel material.

Also I would like to know why you would choose white over space gray or vice versa.

Whatever color that is available in stock. Most likely X will sold out so quickly, you will have to settle with whichever color you can get. Beggar can't be choosy

I'm planning on getting the Silver model but if the supply is tight and I can get the Space Grey much sooner I might settle for that.
