Typical apple always has problems when they release new phones, meanwhile I'm trying the break-in thing hopefully it gets improved, I will post after a day trying.

On the note, don't know if it's only me but i see a pinkish tint on the left side of the display without looking at it from an angle as an example while I'm in settings menu, apologies about the off topic but if anyone has the same issue please quote.

What are the chances my store won’t have any “warranty stock” to beable to swap mine for? Do they generally have no problems with warranty stock?

I have returned mine and got a full refund, I'll wait for the new batch to arrive hopefully no defects

Their service units are defective too. Everyone (read all) people who got it exchanged had the same issue with the refurbished Apple replacements that they have at the Genius Bar.

I’d return yours and wait until January.

Yes but, can you not test the phone before you leave the store? And just keep asking for another one ? Lol

I agree I had 3 replacements and they were all same crap. Replacements don’t move as fast as the ones sold. Apple’s replacement stock is all first batch right now. I’ve tried several display models and a few employees phones have the issue too. I only found one display model and a friend’s that didn’t have the crackle. That’s 2 out of like 20 phones that didn’t have the problem. I returned mine and glad I didn’t sell my iPhone 8 Plus that I went back to. I’ll wait till Apple grows a pair to officially acknowledge this issue, but makes me wonder why it’s taking this long to. Sucks because I really like the phone, but can no longer take the speaker rattle/crackle on speaker phone calls at 50-60% volume. Not at $1250, it is a phone at the end of the day and that’s the most basic function it should be able to do well.

Mines not bad with music but crackles when using voice on the speaker phone. If it were a cheap phone I wouldn't care. I saved a few VM showing this. Once I get a few scratches on my phones ill exchange it if Apple has this resolved by then. Its pretty clear the tiny little speaker cant handle louder volumes going through it esp with certain tones.

FYI, I bought an X for work. The device I received does NOT have the issue and sounds as good as my 8 Plus. Perhaps a little bit less bass but ZERO issues.

Mine doesn't have the crackle issue that I've noticed but it does sound a little blown out when listening to music on the highest setting. It's not the most major issue but if it gets worse I may take it too Apple but for right now it's fine.

At 90% it’s fine. 100% some crackle. But what do you expect from a speaker that small?

My two previous X’s at launch had it at like 50-60% volume

Have you tested the « Slow Rise » ringtone ?
Just tried it. I'd say there is maybe 5% crackle but generally crystal clear.

Trust me, I was super picky about this. The rattle is no different than my amazing sounding 8 Plus. In fact, I tried both side by side and this X sounded better than my 8 Plus.

Chalk it up to manufacturer defect imo

My 8+ didnt rattle in max volume. The point is if x is not capable of certain frequency or level then it should limit it.

Have my 3rd phone coming Monday. The 1st replacement phone was worse than my original phone I ordered at launch. This replacement not only has all the crackling noise, but had a constant hum as well. This is when trying to use the phone as a phone, while talking to someone. I sure hope this 3rd one will work ok! Love the phone but have to be able to hear who I'm talking to.

installed iOS 11.2 and earpiece rattle during regular calls is still an issue, time for an exchange which worries me because the rest of the phone is perfect (screen color, face id, etc)

For those of you that have exchanged your phones did you return yours and repurchased it or did you have the Genius bar swap it out for a white box?

I'm getting my current iPhone X collected and a new unit is being sent to me. In your experience, how long does it take between the moment the current unit is collected and the new one gets shipped? I'm dreading the days without my iPhone X, I got so used to it :(

Please let us know how the 3rd one is. Apple still hasn’t addressed this. I’m starting to think they made adjustments with phones produced after the issue was reported and will remain quiet, which leaves people who got theirs right away to play the swapping game in hope of getting a later production model. They probably figure most people will accept it and turn volume down or might not even notice it because they use Bluetooth devices for calls and music. Has to be a hardware issue that they are hoping will quietly go away. The phones are selling like crazy and they don’t want to do a recall because some people are totally fine with it or are unaware the speaker sounds like crap.

I returned mine and back on my 8 Plus. I’ll probably buy another later and return it if it still crackles. I swapped three times and got tired of going to Genius Bar to keep getting phones with same issue.

Lol why do people do this ? If you ask the Genius you should be able to keep your current iPhone until the new one comes in, I know because I’ve had 5 replacements
