I agree. I'm starting to feel like Apple overhyped this and I was the fool to fall for it.
The lack of a headphone jack poses absolutely no problem for me and I use a pair of Sony MDR-7506 cans while at home. Its fine for alot of people but i'm into HiFi and like the best SQ possible.
I went to the Apple store today to experience the iPhone X phenomenon. I must say the phone is too small. I was not impressed. I have no regrets moving to the Note 8 having been in the iPhone ecosystem since 2008. The Note 8 is a far superior phone in many respects. My decision was based on facts, not emotions.
The only fact here is that you listed a lot of things that aren’t facts.I posted this elsewhere, but here are the facts. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
1. Note 8 has a larger screen.
2. Size wise, it's a little taller than the iPhone 6 plus I had, so the size of it does not bother me.
3. It has an micro SD card, the iPhone X doesn't.
4. It has headphone jack, the iPhone X doesn't.
5. Samsung screen has a higher resolution than the iPhone X's screen
6. The notch on the iPhone X bothers me. The phone is not aesthetically appealing to the eyes. The Samsung Note 8 is beautiful and symmetrical. It reminds me of the monolith from the 2001: a Space Odyssey.
7. I use the S-pen occasionally for writing quick notes and to do lists. The iPhone X doesn't have one.
8. You can customize the Note 8. You can't with the iPhone X.
9. The Note 8 retains the virtual home button. The iPhone X did away with it.
10. Granted it is located in an awkward position, the Note 8 has a finger scanner. The iPhone doesn't.
11. Note 8 has a fingerprint scanner, an iris scanner, and a facial recognition system. The iPhone X only has face ID.
12. The Note 8 has 6GB of RAM.
13. Google Voice is well integrated into Note 8. I could, for example, unlock the phone with my voice. Google voice, in my opinion, is far more advanced than Apple's Siri. Bixby is far behind Google voice and Siri, I admit that.

I hope this release is unimpressive for a lot of people
I would love for Apple to have a lackluster season and think to CONTINUE to step their game up (like they have with the X, in my opinion)
Maybe they’ll price drop it and I can get a $100 refund or something for being an early adopter 😀
I’d be ok with that,
What the heck would I need a headphone jack for when I use wireless bluetooth Powerbeats? 😵 I didn’t even know people still used wired headphones in today’s day and age.
That's great for you 🙂 As long as you understand the audio quality on bluetooth is inferior to wired. The lack of a headphone jack poses absolutely no problem for me and I use a pair of Sony MDR-7506 cans while at home.

iOS just works. Nothing else to be said.
Just buy whatever phone you want. That’s the beauty of capitalism. I’m impressed by the X. If you aren’t, it doesn’t matter to me.I went to the Apple store today to experience the iPhone X phenomenon. I must say the phone is too small. I was not impressed. Note 8 doesn't run iOS.
The only fact here is that you listed a lot of things that aren’t facts.
6, 8, and 13 are not facts. 3/13 is a pretty high number for something claiming to be a list of facts. In all fairness, all of what he posted is a fact, except #6 and maybe #13 (which is also mostly factual). So most of what he stated is indeed fact.
I have an iPhone X, and all though I'm not hating it, it's not blowing me away like my 7 Plus did at the time. Maybe I need more time with it. But, lets face it, it's, $1,150 is kind of a ripoff for what we're getting (I have the sliver 256 GB).
I'll post a review, pros and cons, when I have a little more time with it. Will try to be as objective as possible but will include some subjective thoughts. Just got it the 3rd.
As far as customization is concerned, you have to admit that Apple is full of restrictions that Android is not. Not that I'm complaining...the iPhone is less susceptible to attacks. But, technically, he's right.6, 8, and 13 are not facts. 3/13 is a pretty high number for something claiming to be a list of facts.
just curious, what can you do in ios that someone can't do on a note 8? b/c i can think of a bunch of things an android os can do that an iphone could never do
6,8,13 are rubbish. Moving along...As far as customization is concerned, you have to admit that Apple is full of restrictions that Android is not. Not that I'm complaining...the iPhone is less susceptible to attacks. But, he's right.
#13 is part subjective and part fact. He can indeed unlock his phone and we cannot with Siri. So 11.5/13 isn't too shabby.
- Sync with an Apple Watch. Yes the Android options are getting better, but in my opinion the Apple Watch is still the best smartwatch on the market. Besides, I already own one.
- Sync many settings, preferences, apps, etc. with an iPad or macOS. Yes most of my services sync with Android and Windows as well, but there is something nice about the seamless integration within the Apple ecosystem. And I say that as someone who has never owned a Mac.
- Share photos with iCloud photostream, which I admit is a terrible way to share photos... but when your whole family uses iOS and Photostream you either join them or get left out because they won’t bother to use google photos or Instagram.
lol you literally listed nothing that ios can do that can't be done on android. all you basically said was i like ios b/c i use a bunch of devices that has ios.....
-an android phone can sync with watches that are way more feature rich than an apple watch. an adroid phone can sync with multiple watches. it isnt stuck on one eco system.
-you can easily sync and share files with your computer (windows or mac) via an easy app called push bullet. you can even answer your texts via your mac. chrome remembers my browsing history and bookmarks on both my computer and phone.
- google photos does the same thing and imo better.
