Interesting to see though, the 8 was quite a bit more popular than the 8 plus and the 7 is still way more popular than the 7 plus. Also the X is smaller than the plus models. Are people losing interest in massive handsets?
I seem to recall that the standard versions have always been more popular than the plus versions. Most probably due to price.

Probably the best way to put it is more people think the iPhone X is the best phone in the world than any other phone.

But apparently more people loved the iPhone 7, when it was released - when comparing the Q1 numbers on the chart.

Calm down.

Why do you need to resort to snarky juvenile insults? That just shows you are out of gas. Are you really incapable of having a normal conversation, and instead need to ridicule to make a point?

"Do you also think that McDonalds is the best restaurant?"

If McDonalds sold millions of burgers a year for $25, I'd be inclined to think so.

This made me think that McDonalds should start selling Mac Meal X – the best Mac Meal ever! – at $25.

They could make it a very special Mac Meal with number of extras and have a profit margin like no other in the burger business!

:D

I like my iPhone X a lot and I think its best feature is Face ID actually. I don’t have to constantly wipe the screen to get it to work like I did with Touch ID after a while. It’s ironic because people were so worried about Face ID at first but I think it’s the X’s biggest advantage over the competition. It works great overall and as of now nobody else has this technology.

actually. with only 4% of the worldwide phone sales, while it's the best selling single phone. Statistically it would be saying that 96% of the world opted for a phone that wasn't the iPhone X.

so the numbers actually show that 96% of the world doesn't think the X is the best phone

If the majority of people so enjoy and covet the Mac Meal X over any other meal option out there, and are willing to open their wallets for the 25 bucks, more power to McDonalds!

My work phone is an iPhone X and my personal is an iPhone 7 Plus. It pains me every time after I use my work phone that unlocked for me flawlessly to go back to my personal phone and have it shake until I wipe off the finger print sensor. I *thought* I couldn't live without Touch ID until I had to go back to it.

This is also my recollection.

I had my doubts but once I started to use it (and coming from a 6+ so design was fresh) I can see why it is popular.

Same here. I came from 6+ and was disappointed not to have the additional screen but one i started using the X and with Face ID and all that, I don't even want to go back to the plus version. I have the same screen real-estate as the 6+ but smaller perfect form factor. Plus Face ID is magic especially when making app purchases. And holding the X naked without a cover is just absolutely magical and feels amazing. The glass back is truly beautiful. I think that is the difference between TouchID and FaceID. FaceID has made the experience seamless and the new gestures are also so natural now.

Honestly, i'm excited to see how FaceID evolves. This device is groundbreaking. It's nice to see Apple leading the market with new trends once again. I'm looking forward to future versions of the X.

Interesting. I'm still on my iPhone 6 with the 1st-gen touchID. If FaceID is better than 2nd-gen touchID, then I should be in for a treat when the X2 comes out.

I'm planning on upgrading my personal to the 11(Whatever the next generation X is). I also hate having such a big phone.

Both statements are logically incorrect. Just because one buys (or doesn't buy) a product doesn't mean that person think it's the best product.

I drive a Honda Accord. It's a good car. I know it's not the best car, not even close. The best selling of anything is rarely the best.

The number suggest that the X is the best selling individual phone model in the world. It's also likely the highest revenue and profit generating model of phone in the world.

Above that, it's all opinion that can't be proven anyway.

Bestselling phone doesn't necessarily equate to best phone. There is an element of herd mentality.

Good for you. Whatever helps you hold it together after yet another record setting quarter. Hang it there, keep predicting demise for everything they do and eventually you'll be right.

Sure it does. People vote with their wallets after carefully considering the value proposition and looking at other alternatives. Especially for a premium-priced device. You might want to consider not projecting your personal views and feelings, and how you make purchase decisions, onto millions of others.

The market has voted.

LOL. Lots of people went to see Michael Bay's Transformer movies and they made millions of dollars. It doesn't mean they were good movies.

Oh, i Know, i was just playing devil's advocate and taking the flip side of the statement. You are right, Both statements are incorrect

Yeah but usually the previous iPhones are still sold for a couple year afterwards. The iPhone 5 was not. Is the rumor that Apple is going to kill the iPhone X and NOT replace it with something else?
No. But I think a lot of rumor headlines were intentionally written to make it look like the X would be killed off because it wasn’t successful. If they don’t keep the current X around my guess is it’s because the 8 exists and that line will be pushed down.

If Apple does not release an 2018 iPad Mini 5/Pro, I will probably will buy an sim free iPhone XL in December 2018 or January 2019!

It's a screen that has the same area as the plus. But it fits more easily in the hand.

I think what will happen is, the premium phone will introduce big new features, and then the new features go down the line. If the rumors are true, this year we will have cheaper phones with Face ID. And more OLED. Will there be a premium phone every year? Not the X, according to rumor. But why stop the sales of its most popular phone?

What’s the benchmark of a good product? How well it sells against the competition? Or how well it sells against Wall Street’s prediction?

This is why I think T. Cook is right not to focus on the stock price. Stock prices rely too heavily on analyst predictions and assumptions.

IDK about that. It is all about perspective.

I think that Apple's products, especially software, was much, much better when they were a tiny sliver on any market share chart.

Also, with awesome advertising, MS sold a crap load of units of Windows 95 licenses, and totally dominated the market share, and it was a turd of an OS. The first versions were basically unusable without the updates. Would you call that a good product?

Maybe because when Apple Products were a tiny sliver on any market share chart most bugs would go unnoticeable
unlike nowadays that almost anyone owns an iPhone?
