'iPhone X' Split Status Bar Leak Shows Off Animated Battery Icon and Screen Recording Indicator

This looks like hot garbage. In 10 years, I may finally skip an iPhone. Would much prefer to have the "ears" blacked out and blended in with the notch like in the example above. This notch will be so distracting. Just ugly, what's happened over there in Cupertino?

And yet Samsung has all this spare phone OLED capacity to sell to Apple because so few people buy their high-end phones. Meanwhile, Apple will not be able to meet customer demand for the "iPhone X" because they can't get enough OLED panels.

The irony will be that Samsung will increase OLED capacity because Apple can sell iPhones, not because Samsung can sell Galaxies.

It has more usable space than the Galaxy phones because there's data to the left and right of the sensors. That's all I'm saying. It also means smaller bezels because much of that bezel is actually screen. This isn't my opinion, you know. It's like... facts, dude.

(Also, if you'd read my next post, you'd see that I said I've been pretty much over the iPhone design since the S8 came out, makes my 7 Plus look SO DATED).

I didn’t realize the carrier being displayed was so hated. I live on an international border, and sometimes my carrier does switch, and knowing that on the fly has explained data dropouts and the such that would have been otherwise very frustrating.

I can definitely agree it’s ugly and mostly redundant.

I am hoping in 6 month's, all who don't like something about the new iPhone
will post about how happy they are they didn't buy.

Samsung has sold over 25 million S8 and s8 plus devices in the states so they are not selling few devices. Thanks

Plus the Note 8 is breaking preorder records......the exact reason why Samsung cannot supply you guys with enough OLED displays is because they have to supply themselves first which is a excellent company decision. Thanks again...

Maybe Apple should have hopped on the AMOLED train years ago....most of you guys will not have your AMOLED iPhones until December or January 2018...well deserved for being such hypocrites.

Like I said ...you need to definitely re-analyze your assertions..still not seeing anymore useable space than a design without the notch...thanks again.....

Pre orders don't mean a thing, as they could all get returned. Hard sales numbers are what wins in business and I'm pretty sure Apple have that sewn up.

Are we talking about the same thing here? I'm talking about the area to the left and right of the sensors - there's a screen there. There's no screen to the left or right of the sensors on a Galaxy S8. There's just black, i.e. wasted space.

Whether that notch is black or white/uniform with the rest of the screen - is not the argument here.

There is no such thing as true wasted space .....the Samsung design is much more attractive and ergonomic with larger screen real estate especially in the Plus and Note 8.

You rather they keep the current design? If so get the iphone 8 or 8 plus.

Must rather this design than what we have now.
 
I think the notch might be overexaggerated in all the dummies/mockups if its really supposed to just take up the space of the status bar. The status bar is a bit thinner than that.

No, I'd rather they lose the ears and fill them with black, so it's a seamless line with the sensors. That looks night and day better in the examples and mockups posted in this thread.
