Doesn't matter. MacRumors members made it very clear as soon as the phone was announced that it's far too high priced to ever sell and no one will want to buy it. With no demand for it, supply shouldn't be an issue.

Exactly. Good thing they only need to make one for me and then can stop production. :D

At what point do those who laughed in the faces of people who decided to buy the 8/Plus and wait for the XI, start eating humble pie?

Bought my wife an 8 last night because her 6s died. She was dead set against the X. I on the other hand will place an order on the 27th and hope us snow Mexicans can get deliveries before the end of 2017!

this is interesting and trying to follow along - what did Apple promise here? sound like if you were to upgrade to the iPhone 8/8+ (on time and in stock) they will be complaint with the program - now I understand you want the X model, the question, is it written anywhere that you have to upgrade to an specific model?
Apple didn't violate anything, and last year I was able to upgrade to any model. This year I could have upgraded to an 8. Technically it's a bank loan Apple sets up for you, after 12 payments I can turn in the phone, or I can keep paying and own the phone after 24 months. In this case it's a turn-in after 13 months, so it cost me an extra payment to wait for the X.

Try 5 seconds.

Definitely the range.

We need now to think in terms of milliseconds. 4.3 seconds, or 4300 milliseconds.
Any more news like today, and we will need nanoseconds: 4,300,000,000 nanoseconds, which is looking better. :D

You do realize the phone is supposed to be in consumers hands in 22 days? They're supposed to manufacture 36M phones in 22 days and they haven't even perfected the TD camera and 3D facial recognition? Seems "clear" to me there will be compromises in the first round of phones.

No, they're not supposed to manufacture 36M phones in 22 days, read the article, it's an estimate for the entire year. The camera system has been perfected, it worked perfectly at the demo, the "fail" was fake news, someone else accessed it before Craig did. The demand will definitely outstrip supply for months, but there will be no compromises, X will blow even the 8/plus out of the water.

Ha, if reason and common sense is now considered Apple Kool-aid, then yes!

Are you suggesting that it would've been harder for Apple to include physical bezels or that somehow the notch wasn't deliberate? If so, it sounds to me like you've been doing more than drinking Kool-Aid. :p

I’m not giving them credit for the notch as if it’s something desirable or clever. There is no good reason to push content up into the ears. They’re doing it so they can claim edge to edge display which is pure marketing drivel. Nobody was clamoring for a notch, yet Apple is cramming it down the throats of the users and developers and trying to pretend like it isn’t a silly design compromise.

until the time comes who knows on what supply there will be. got to wait and see. just order as fast as possible and hope for the best

Yes, but a first gem Apple product with huge manufacturing problems and incredibly low yields.....

You know where this will lead to....

Reports. Apple denial, class action lawsuits... another ‘known Apple issue’ case reference and world wide free repair policy.

8 or 8 Plus? If it’s the 8 what do you make if it??

Hopefully there's no concerns or issues with the actual production units upon consumers getting them in-hand. I'm so tempted to pre-order and upgrade my 7S Plus, but I think I will hold off until next year.

I'm bracing for Face-Gate honestly.

I'm so glad that I bought the 8 Plus! I'm down with beta testing software, but beta testing hardware (and paying for the privilege) isn't relevant to my interests.

Does that mean the ones they made already (if they have) don't have good TrueDepth cameras?

They assembled less than planned as yield rates of the components provided by the suppliers are too high. The ones already produced should do their job, as seen (more or less) at the keynote.

Perhaps it's nothing to do with the hardware, but they are busy trying to fix software bugs before launch date.

Does anyone remember when Apple didn't ship a product unless it was ready? Clearly the X is compromise after compromise.

No company really ships a product until it's ready...are you implying they're shipping out unassembled iPhone Xs right now? Strange thing to say.

You know "announced" and "shipped" aren't the same thing, right?

What a ludicrous nonsense.
Shareholders dislike risk, stock exchanges will chastige it, and customers dislike disappoinments
Any responsible company would have either made iPhone X a limited release or - when mainstream - secured provisioning in a professional manner.
If this rumor holds, and the supply chain would indeed be inadequate for huge volumes, it it is inexcusable amateurism at center stage.

What are you talking about....you getting squeezed on that short position a little too hard?
