I REALLY hope the phones don't look like this.
Yeah yeah yeah. It happens every design change. 3G was “plastic crap” before launch. 4 was “so not Apple”. 5 was “too long and awkward” followed by memes of the phone getting taller and taller every year. 6 people bitched about how awful the antenna lines were. You’ll either get over it and buy the new phone or switch to another device after your current - there are no other options. I’m not being condescending, I complained of some of this as well (specifically the 4 being “unApple”) but I have learned to just embrace it. And in time it is perceived as normal... conditioning...

Lightning?? Really want a fast charger + USB-C. Guess I’ll keep my hopes up for a fast charger and lightning
My phone charges overnight or at work. The only reason to want fast charging is if you wake up, notice you forgot to charge your phone, and need to charge it before you leave home.

My manager got an iPhone 5 as it was released. I remember how long and awkward it was. When I bought a 5s it was just normal. And now it is just tiny.

I hope Apple does NOTHING like Huawei.

Because...?, they strive to compete?, because they continue to innovate in each iteration of phone?, because they have the BEST cameras set up in a phone for the moment?, because they make their phones in the same country where they design them?, they do listen to owners and improve constantly?.
[doublepost=1556347009][/doublepost]Why oh why the power/sleep button is in the opposite side of the volume buttons?, it is the worst place!, always you press the opposite button you intended!. Does nobody at Apple uses their devices?, is Apple so afraid of doing something "conventional" that just works and insist on doing things "differently", just for the sake of difference while actually hurting convenience?.
Late to the 3 cameras party Apple, you better deliver something MUCH better than Asian competitors and without another crazy price increase. It is getting ridiculous and harder to justify such expensive devices when competitors are more advanced and with similar or better prices.
The only reason to change the volume button shape is to force us to buy new cases.
I hate to use Android, but it is becoming more and more evident that Apple has lost its innovation edge since Steve passed away. Tim is good COO, but bad for innovation.

I’m not really bothered about the camera set up. It’s more about the quality of the cameras than the way the camera array looks for me. I’m also glad they aren’t getting rid of the mute toggle. It’s gone from the iPads but I find it really useful.

Look at these all smart asses thinking they’re a better designer than apple.

It’s a freakin cgi made by someone clueless and it’s based on rumors.

Remember when ya all said after looking at the iphone 5 leak? OMG, hideous 2 glass panels on the back! iPhone 4? OMG, what are these lines on the side! This doesn’t seem like apple!

Calm down boys, please complain after you see the final design on apple.com, apple wouldn’t be stupid enough to use that huge ass block on the back without coating it dark like I saw in different cgi leak that i think looks fine, or make them flushed with the rest of the body, or maybe not as protruding as the current iPhone XS.

Looks like my 6s lives on for another year. There are millions of us that will NEVER buy a phone that uses Face ID and is literally one of the ugliest design compromises in tech history “the notch” if I wasn’t so tied into the apple ecosystem I would’ve been gone 2 years ago
Why won’t apple listen to its customers?
They are deliberately making the 2019 iPhone look ugly and Tim Cook need to resign if he can’t even make the product look appealing.

In fact, Tim Cook shouldn’t even think of developing project titan with so many flaws occur on its flagship product.  is in contradiction of its mantra since unveiling an iPhone X that have a cancerous notch.
More newbie notch haters. So many signed up last September, and you all seem to hate Tim Cook too. There are so many of you lately... “we hate Tim Cook, we hate the notch”. News flash: The notch has been around for two model years, FaceID has been a huge hit. Tim Cook has apparently driven DJ Koh insane with Apple’s success.

No amount of astroturfing is going to change your fate Samsung. The X put a major dent in the S9 sales. With the X already on the market, nobody wanted the S9. Now the XR/XS/XS Max has done the same to S10; again, nobody wants it. It’ll be $500-600 within the next couple months—and it still won’t sell.

And now the Fold is a complete disaster, making Samsung and DJ Koh look like foolish amateurs who have no clue how to design a phone for themselves. Egg all over their face, delivering a crappy prototype that they should be ashamed they thought they could launch. For $2,000 no less. But, but, but, iPhone has a notch! So what? No one cares lol.

Sorry Samsung, the notch is fine. No matter how many newbies you have complaining about it here on MR forums, Apple’s customers don’t want your Android phone. Not at $900, not at $500—you couldn’t even pay me to use one. I value security too much to use a malware-infested platform like Android.

Yup

It’s depends on trade in cost but I’ve reached a point in my life that’s its stupid and fiscally irresponsible to upgrade $1,000+ Smartphones every year.... I’m waiting until my AppleCare runs out and then I’ll think about what Apple has to offer
I think you hit the nail on the head there, and that's how I feel too, it really is fiscally irresponsible to upgrade every year now at a minimum of 1K a time. Regardless of your financial status that is just literally a complete waste of money.

I'd like an iPhone 5 style, but with the bigger screen and no bezel.

I also think it's time for companies (all of them) to ditch power bricks in their packaging. If you want a fast charger, buy one, but we've all got usb plugs lying around and the amount of wasted plastic is a disgrace now.

Who is talking about Samsung? Are you okay?

Apple needs to consider the size and weight of the phone for an older user. I am a little older, and use the phone a lot for my job
and personal use. I had the I phone 6 which I love. I read that they are not going to keep updates coming for the phone after this summer. I bought the XR last week in beautiful Coral. I loved it. I brought it back yesterday and exchanged for the IPhone 8. The reason? it is too heavy to hold and too wide. I do not have small hands, but I began getting pains in my hand from holding it and stretching my hand. Also numbness. It had to go back. The 8 is much better, but I am disappointed because I wanted an upgrade. If Apple keeps making large ,heavier phones this will be my ladies IPhone. They need to think about how big are they going to go, dice it is getting ridiculous.
[doublepost=1556367254][/doublepost]
How heavy do you want the phone to be especially considering most people put them in cases?
[doublepost=1556302745][/doublepost]
Because people don’t want heavier phones. Most people put their phones in cases for protection which makes the back flush. And even if the camera was flush with the back people would still be complaining that the layout is ugly.

The max is heavy as it is not sure getting heavier is a good idea

Hope rumours of better battery are correct

Steel is adding to the weight, Samsung Galaxy S10 is made out of Aluminum.
[doublepost=1556319877][/doublepost]
Don't want larger battery ?
People complain about thinner phones, when Apple decides to make them thicker to add more battery people complain.
[doublepost=1556320107][/doublepost]
Because the Face ID hardware still exists, iPhone is the only phone that has real working Face ID, all others have a fake Face ID.
So others don't need that much space on top for hardware.

why do I need a larger battery? The XS Max gets me through the day plenty fine. Also people are always going to complain because they have opinions, get over it.

Fine, whatever. Just get the price down

I wish that were true, but I think the New Apple is content with $999 smartphones and not selling as many while your iCloud photo library creeps up and up...

I buy used and last year's tech at the discount, personally.

I'm more interested in what the Apple Watch is going to offer.

I think it looks okay on the Max, but the Camera bump kind of comes dangerously close on the normal sized one.

So it seems 2020 is when we'll see the real new iPhone. This is just a placeholder until the 5G, USB-C model comes out.

It's good that it has 3 cameras on it and everything else will be a little bit better, but for those who are on 10 series phones, this will def be a skip. 6, 7, 8 series I could see the value, but again, 2020 will be the big one.

They'd want to have a killer app lined up for this phone otherwise I'll tank worse than the XS max did. I own an XS Max and it's a very good phone, but absolutely not worth the asking price.

This is bad. That rear camera setup, the same ugly notch. And why does Apple think it's ok to make iPhones thicker each year? Im guessing this will be heavier than the X and XS as well. I see not Industrial Design problem solving here. Just shoehorning a new triple camera set up.
