It's very relaxing when you're not in a rush. I can spend 20 minutes in there easy.

Then you can buy a bluetooth speaker, or heavens forbid, a wired speaker, plug into iphone, and set the phone and speaker on your toilet. Turn volume up, done. No worries about the speaker or phone getting hot water on it. If it's for pr0n I'd suggest paying a contractor to mount a small flat screen in the tile with waterproof covering. I mean if you are going to do it, do it right!!!!

Here’s a question, can you use your XR to listen to the news or You Tube whilst shaving and cleaning your teeth, then leave it in the bathroom whilst you take your shower? Or will the humidity and steam affect it?

It’s hard to read my ebooks and selectively choose my music that way. I have a HomePod in there and I relax on the seat while reading on the weekends. I don’t see anything wrong with this. I’m disappointed about the mention of pornography, I would never engage in such filth.

Why not? People shave, brush their teeth, and drink in the shower I don't see issue with having a resourceful device handy should the need arise. For me it's helpful for my ASD.

Who the hell drinks in the shower? Shaving and brushing teeth are part of the grooming process and would be a logical thing to do in the shower.......using your a phone in the shower is not for most people. What possible need would I have for a 'resourceful device' while I'm naked and soapy?

You could say the same about someone reading ebooks in the shower. I've never taken a phone into the bathroom, never seen the need to.

There’s a very large following of people that drink in the shower. It’s definitely not uncommon for my area at all honestly.

OK reading an ebook etc in the bath where you are laying down all comfy with the water keeping you warm like a blanket I get, but in the shower really?

For me showers are a quick in get clean and out, if I have the house to myself I may airplay a tune or 2 to the speaker I have in the bathroom and control via my watch but I'm never in more than 5-10 minutes tops.

Then again I am an ex submariner and anything other than a 2 minute: water on - get wet - water off - soap down - water on - rinse off shower was called a "Hollywood" shower and very frowned upon.

Former firefighter, you got to count your time in minutes before being scolded?

Makes sense when in the bath, but not the shower. I tend to be in the bath for an hour and can’t just lie there doing nothing so it’s normal to have my iPad and phone for reading, watching a show/film, productivity, banking etc. No different to lying on the sofa doing it. But in the shower? Where does one hold the device when there is a powerful stream of water pointing at them? It makes no sense.

After the 5 minutes it takes to wash yourself, what do you do with the other 15 besides run water down the drain?

Relax and take my mind off the world. Only takes about 45 seconds honestly to do a thorough cleaning job by the way.

If you are using your phone in the shower, I think its safe to assume you have a phone addiction. If you cannot put your phone down for 30 minutes while you bathe, (as someone has pointed out), you need help.

At the gym I go to, people already take their phones with them into the hot tub.

So having a phone in the shower is not that crazy or far off.

I assume a lot of people would do it if phones could handle it.

A hot tub may be different as you are not really bathing. Although the steam can still damage the internals, and tcanbe considered another form of phone addiction. I would tend to believe rather than assume that most people do put their phone down to bathe.

I used to take my iPhone 5 into the bathroom to listen to music when I showered. Never had a problem in 4 years of ownership.

I took my Max to the pool to listen to music with my AirPods (Bluetooth out of range). It’s nice not having to worry. I even fell in the water by mistake and my AirPods withstand the water as well
