And that made it so tempting I admit...but the one I want (space grey 257 GB) is projected to arrive at a time I’m out of town and the only ones that are showing for 9-21 pickup are 64 GB and 512 GB. So I’ll hold off until such s time that it will arrive when I’m home and is the configuration I want.

A friend of mine placed their order today for the exact same iPhones (well, they ordered Verizon instead of AT&T) and Watch. I ordered as soon as they went on sale. I am scheduled for delivery on Friday and they are scheduled by October 8th for the phone and October 22nd for the watch. What a difference a weekend makes!

How to track your order (I ordered the phone and watch so I’m not sure if this is both packages in 1 tracking number ... but whatever, it works)

1. Go to ups.com/track
2. Click track by reference #
3. Paste your ORDER number in the reference field (nothing else) and then remove the last 2 digits then click track.
4. Notice your TRACKING NUMBER APPEAR in the top left.
5. Click shipment progress & detailed view.

You’re welcome ;)

The first iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4 orders placed on the online Apple Store have shifted to "Preparing to Ship" ahead of an expected Friday, September 21 delivery date.

Many orders in the United States, Australia, the UK, and and other countries have changed status and should be shipping out to customers in the near future. Apple Watch Series 4 and iPhone XS orders that have shifted to "Preparing for Shipment" can no longer be modified or canceled.

Apple began accepting pre-orders for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max on Friday, September 14 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time. By the time a half hour had passed, many iPhone XS Max models had sold out and were no longer available for launch day delivery.

As of today, new iPhone XS Max orders will not ship out until October, but some models are still available for in-store pickup on September 21 in select stores. Retail stores are also expected to have supplies available for walk-in purchases on launch day.

Supplies of the smaller 5.8-inch iPhone XS are plentiful and that device remains available for Friday delivery.

After orders began shipping, Apple's shipment status information may not be updated right away. Over the course of the next few days, some customers in the United States may be able to track their shipments using track by reference features on the UPS and FedEx websites.

Update: This article has been updated to include the Apple Watch Series 4 as some orders in the United States recently began changing to "Preparing to Ship." Not all Apple Watch Series 4 orders have been updated at this time, while most iPhone XS and XS Max orders are in the preparing to ship phase.

Just now FINALLY got a tracking number on my phone! What's interesting is that the scanned departure/arrival dates and times are the same as for my husband's phone (which has had a tracking number since about 8 am PDT today), except the "order processed: ready for UPS" date/time is AFTER the departure scan!

Or you could do what I suggested in an earlier message and create a UPS MyChoice account for free. That will show you all UPS deliveries that are coming to your house. You're welcome ;)

Notice that the arrival scan for ZhengZhou is also later than the departure scan...

Perhaps time works differently in China o_O

Just have my tracking number.

Didn’t work for me, calm down .. :p

No worries. I'm just trying to spread the word because then you never have to worry about it again. The only caveat is that it only works for deliveries to your home because you have to prove to them it is your home. I think they make you answer some questions.

wow~ I've been trying to track this and it didn't show anything as I didn't know I had to delete the last two digits of the reference number. Thanks a bunch!

so mine still hasn't left anywhere then, because I can't get anything to show up and it still says "processing" on the order page. the case I ordered is supposed to arrive by Wednesday, but I assume that's already state side. xs max gold 256 arrives by Friday, and the watch (gold 44 ss) arrives 9/28-10/2. hopefully that moves up.
everything is still in processing tho.

Mine still in “preparing to ship”.

All of ours still says that on the Apple Site, but many of us already have tracking numbers and they are already at the hub to leave China. Never base it on the "Preparing to ship" message because it will say that until a day or two before delivery.

Iphone XS space grey 256gb
Series 4 40mm space grey

Anybody else get a 40mm? Think it looks big enough in the hands on videos I saw almost like the current 42mm. Plus I have small wrists

For “s” years it’s pretty common to have availability on or near launch date without preordering.

Even for my X I canceled preorder after checking in store availability (day after Friday launch), and was able to pick one up. Trick was to check Apple site early AM when stores updated inventory shipments that same day. At least in major southern CA cities was pretty easy.

Why go through 3rd party when it’s just as easy to use Apple.com ? Or were you trying to avoid paying taxes with B&H? I preordered Apple Watch through iPhone app around 12:15am (after iPhone order), and still have release date delivery.

I have done it every year since the 4 and this is the farthest out after pre order launch I have seen launch day pickup.

I chatted with someone at Apple and they said a carrier has not been assigned to my order yet. Whatever that means.
