Weird, in Germany almost all of the options are still available for launch day delivery...

In Italy only the 64GB Max is no more available next week. And I think it is strange, the Max is very pricey, once you spend that amount of money for a smartphone why compromise on the storage? I expected the mid tier to be the most popular for the Max, while the 64GB is an obvious choice if you want the Xr

I think most customers will prefer the Xr over the Xs and I'm confident the Max will sell way more than the Xs.
It was a wise decision to sell the Xr in October, many customers are eligible to upgrade this month and will be tempted by the Xs just because it the only "small" size available. They'll sell less units this quarter because Xr is missing, but they'll perform a lot better in the following quarter as the Xr hits the shelves.

Exactly

I think this is THE update that is getting most Series 0 holdouts to upgrade. I know I'm one of them.

I'm coming from S2 (upgraded back in the day mainly for GPS) but I'm with you... Didn't go for S3 even though it was a great watch... This on the other hand was too hard to pass... Have jumped on the S4 SS 44 and dang I'm looking forward to it.

Because for a lot of people they can just barely afford the phone in the first place. Most of them will be financing the phone. Adding more storage could raise the monthly payment by $10 or more.

$10 is a lot to some people. Just like why do people buy a V6 Mustang? Because they can’t afford the V8.

I've got the S2 still works great for everyday use, was tempted to upgrade but couldn't really justify the price. New watch screen is impressive but can't say I spend much time looking at my screen. Will be interested to hear if those who upgrade really feel its worth it.

Out in Singapore the Gold Xs Max was (predictably) the first to sell out although it was nearly 30 minutes before shipping dates on the 512 slipped, then the 256 and finally the 64. Space Grey was an hour behind that and silver is still available in all sizes for 21st. Xs, all models still available for 21st delivery (3 1/2 hours after opening). All in store pickups disappeared within an hour but that may represent the limited capacity of the one Apple store here to have people go and physically pick up.

Feels like Apple got the production line going earlier this year. People who were used to the Plus size and didn't jump last year now have the X technology in a larger phone so they're popular, the Xs offers little enough over last year's X that direct demand is a bit lower. Note that the majority of consumers here buy on contract from the telcos, I think the rush for Xs Plus when those sales open is going to be crazy, the Xs, better than direct sales as people on 2 year contracts who couldn't move last year will do so now.

I sat this one out as I don't want a phablet and the Xs didn't really offer enough over the X. Quite excited for the Xr launch, that would be a great replacement for spouse's 6 and I can get a funky colour too.

But then why they don't wait for the Xr? It is way cheaper than the Xs Max and has a 6.1'' display so it is bigger than the 5.5'' of the Plus models, even if they were used to the Plus they'd like the Xr

I want the bigger screen and I only use 28 GB of 64 GB on my iPhone 6 with 17 GB being Spotify and my 7 Plus only has 32 GB in the first place. All my photos are in the cloud so 80 GB only take up 2 GB locally. 64 GB is plenty for my use case and I am on my phone ALL THE TIME

Does anybody know of “currently unavailable” for pickup on the model I want means that it may become available at some point again to pickup on sept 21?

Don't worry, they'll be keeping plenty in store, just like last year.

I still see that delivery is possible for sim free phone by 21st and available in the stores launch day. I think Apple got their supply chain right for this one or the price is keeping people out.

In the next couple weeks a unicorn supply constraints will be showing on Apple website but people will just walk into Apple Store and get one without issues

This was probably the easiest order for me ever. Got in store at 3:02am. Checkout only took a few seconds.

Got the watch I had in favorites with no prob.

Afterwards just checked the x max and still was avail for release day although I skipped on it. Keeping x another year. To each their own. X to X phones this year doesn’t seem worth it to me.

As Someone else alluded to, Apple tends to under promise and over deliver.

Pre-ordered my Apple Watch when the website went live immediately, was predicted my Series 4:

44 MM Black Stainless.
Sept. 28-Oct. 5.
[doublepost=1536924251][/doublepost]Mine did the same thing. I ordered the Gold 44mm Stainless steel with gold Loop. Ordered as soon as it went live and I got a Sept 28 - Oct 5 date.

Watch pre-order locked down and good for the 21st so that's top priority covered! But right now it looks like Verizon is still shipping all Xs variants on launch day. Hoping that holds out till the store opens this morning as I need to go in an open a line with them through my company discount. Hoping that + trading in my X can knock me down to a decent monthly rate. I think I am ready to make the switch from AT&T.

You should be able to do this online pretty easy, or go in to the store later and do it. You can do it anytime.
I didn't seem to see the option when going through the pre-order process as a new customer, do you by chance know where I would input that information? Thanks for replying!

Definitely true for me. As a Series 0 Day 1 onwner of the 42 SBSS with Link Bracelet, for the money invested I held out, but this year is compelling...and we're not getting WatchOS5 so an extra nudge.

No problems preordering my XS Max. X:01am confirmation time for that and :03 for the watch, both delivering for launch next Friday.

7:32a est and I show all but the Max512 available for Sept 21 delivery. Wonder if stock is that high or demand that low.

Try other retailers. It's 7:30am and I just ordered a Series 4 at Best Buy and it will arrive on launch.

Sorry - not for Verizon. I have AT&T and did it online a couple of years ago. I had a verification code that I entered on the website. I am pretty confident that if you have a code you'll be able to enter it on Verizon's website somewhere. Try searching for "corporate discount code".
