But then why they don't wait for the Xr? It is way cheaper than the Xs Max and has a 6.1'' display so it is bigger than the 5.5'' of the Plus models, even if they were used to the Plus they'd like the Xr

Impatience or they don’t want the “poor mans’” iPhone.

When the iPhone 5C came out I overheard some kids complaining their parents didn’t buy them a real iPhone.

Well, that's the problem with mindsets like yours. You think the prices are too high and expect everyone else to think the same. We don't. It's also an indicator of the actual disposable wealth out there, not the endless streams of abject poverty we see on the news all the time.

A monthly payment plan is not “disposable wealth”. Stop it. The unlocked models are always the last to run out because you have to pay everything upfront. 1up program is selling these phones for Apple.

I can afford the phone and still think the price is too high. I just let ordered and paid the full price on the Max, doesn’t mean I’m blind to gr fact that it’s kverproced.
Those prices are staggeringly low.

What once was a $40,000,000 supercomputer now fits on your wrist.
With incredibly detailed graphics.
With blazing fast multi-mile wireless data & voice communications.
With measurable-IQ voice-recognizing AI.
With ECG.
With continuous observation for medical emergencies.
Costing 1-4 days' work.

Some people see the value, and want it sooner than later.
im one of those people. I just pre ordered the sim free coming next Friday. Doesn’t mean is not pricy still.

I ordered the iPhone XS Max 512 Space Gray at approximately 3:05 AM EST and my estimated shipping date is between 10/5 and 10/12. Not cool.

My iPhone X, on Cellular, was the winner by several minutes. In fact I snapped this pic after placing both orders, before I went back to bed. I ordered the watch first, and glad I did, it was pushed back in minutes, the XS Max however was still good to deliver next week even when I woke up this am.

PS: I still hate that the SS Watch is only available with a white band that will never be worn :|

What color XR did everyone order???

EDIT: What color will everyone order?

We’ll it’s not like it’s an extra fee. You’re paying it regardless.
Guess it depends on the schedule for next year. I'd be paying 12 payments to have the phone 11 months. If it's later next year and I have to pay 13 months before upgrading, it sort of nets itself out.

My iPhone XS Max 512GB Space Grey AT&T slipped to 9/28-10/4 just 3 minutes in at 12:04am PDT. Last time a preorder did that to me, I got mine about 4 days late.

Ordered a series 4 Nike Apple Watch last night at 12:04a.m. to replace my series 3. Used Apple Pay within the Apple Store App on my phone and was super easy. Looks like October 5 as the Nike Watches for some reason ship later than the regular ones (was like this last year too). *Keeping my iPhone X as no need to upgrade even though Tim & Co said the new ones are "The most amazing phones they have ever created." Hmmmm:D

Ordered two AW S4 SG and 2 Xs 256 SG.

Excited about the AW. Already have the X so the Xs is... meh.

Mainly got it for the dual SIM feature.

These are getting too expensive to replace every year, IMHO.

Add AppleCare and sales tax and I’m at 3k for 2 phones.

iOS 12 is also just... boring. Just seems to chew through my battery.

This was the smoothest website launch I've ever seen, and I upgrade every year. I was able to place three separate orders for the XS Max 512gb before supply started slipping...and that was using my Discover card deals link (10% cashback!) which added two extra steps. By the time I ordered the phones, my 44 SG watch had slipped. Best Buy still had all watch options available though, so I ordered it from there. I ran into no hiccups on either site, and toyed with Verizon's site, which also seemed to be running smoothly. People may argue, but I'm thinking this all points to lower demand than previous years. Either way, I don't care...I want them and I'm excited for Friday!

I picked up a Xs from Apple but couldn't get the 44mm space black watch on launch day. I checked all the carriers including Best Buy and the only place that had stock was Tmobile. Even though I paid the phone in full, I still had to buy service for the watch which cost me an additional $35 ($25 deposit and $10 1st month). Small price to pay to get an Apple Watch on launch day.

No iPhone for me this year, going to stick with my X for now (first time since iPhone 4, I’ve not gotten the new phone). But I am upgrading my Series 1 to a Series 4.

I preordered through the iOS app a little late (12:35a PT, 2:35a CT) and chose the 44mm Space Gray Series 4 with Cellular. Shipping date already showed October 5-11 as my estimated shipping date or an in store pickup at my local store for September 21st. So, I chose in store pickup. We’ll see, fingers crossed.

Yeah, this is the first time in a decade I didn't replace my phone on launch day. The only two things that were enticing were 512GB and the HDR on the camera. Sticking with the X for now. Maybe until next year, or maybe later once I see if the new camera functions are worth it.

I did upgrade the watch series 3 for a 4 though. The ECG is a big draw...eventually I'm sure it will be continuous.

I got the same.

I had the App store App on my phone and web site refreshing.

App went live at and website 8 minutes later.

Got mine on the 21 thanks to using the App.
I think tney do that on purpose..the app see,s always to get you hrough before the web. In the past i have queued up telephone, web and app.

Dang it I overslept. I was going to pick up the phone at the Michigan Ave store in Chicago but there’s no availability. I wonder how many units Apple reserved for store walk-ins on the 21st.

The Michigan Ave. store is always a mad house. I just did store pick up for the Old Orchard store. Yea it’s a 20 min drive but it’s always a lot less crowded.

Apple does this every single year. Its all a part of the marketing scheme to make people think, o no I better order now or it will be much worse.

I did the pre-approved process checklist, it was smooth checkout.

Got the iPhone Xs Max 512GB Silver and Nike Apple Watch 4 44m. Can not wait for next Friday delivery.

Not standing 13 hours in-line this launch WOOT!!!! :apple::apple::apple::D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

So, I am going through the I want to upgrade too emotions. But I bought my iPhone X in March and as much I would like the Xs Max, can't justify it (can afford, just can't justify it). I guess it will ware off soon.

Slipping faster than I thought with those prices...
Didn't learn from the massive success of the X?

Guys, people buy $1,000+ phones...it's not a big deal to MANY millions of people, particularly when Flagship Androids run for similar prices. Welcome to our world.
