I said that it's just my opinion. You have every right to speak up and remain in the discussion.. but we got it. You don't. Good for you. I envy you!

I'm sorry but I don't see how people who 'don't have it' contribute to this thread.

Trust me, I really want you to be right. I want to be wrong.
Those of us who don't have it or don't see it contribute to a balanced assessment of the issue, without which one might falsely conclude that every iPhone has these issues. While you may wish that were true in order to strengthen your complaint, it is not.

I replaced my XR for the XS. They both had the stutters. Going to replace my XS and see what the replacement is like but a bit optimistic as there are a load of people already on replacements that have stutters. 12.2 is a lot better but will see over the next 24 hours. The scrolling stutter is still there. I also have switched off a lot of features to minimise stuttering.

Attention aware features are switched off. Background app refresh turned off. Reduced transparency on, reduce motion on. Auto brightness is off, all effects with screen savers are off and just have black screen. Light settings are about 20 percent. Turned off a lot of the settings so that refreshing is only done whilst using the app or on WIFi. Also deleted a lot of my email accounts to just one. Also got rid of half my apps and Facebook because a lot of guys on the apple forum did this and had results. Was going to say check the apple forum but forgot that had been taken down !

With all these changes, I can say it’s a massive improvement but no were near as my previous iPhones and the 6s that I had before the XR and XS.

As I said in my previous post, I like to scroll slowly with my finger on the screen instead of swiping but still getting the jitters. For me the disappointment is that gaming is worst than ever with developers struggling to get there apps smooth on the new phones.

Have not checked HDR and 4K video playback yet because that was a joke as well with constant frame rate dropping/jitters. Will check later.

I also got rid of FaceTime as well as suggested in the apple forum. Not sure what’s going on with face time but it keeps shutting down on my iPad. Anyways I got rid of that. I stick mostly to gaming on my IPad Air because all my games don’t stutter when scrolling like they do on the XS.

Omg so true... I did everything but have still this issue. It‘s like my old 6s.. :(

Hi. Same Problem here.

Here’s an other German Article

https://www.iphone-ticker.de/ruckel...pple-entfernt-umfangreiche-diskussion-139116/

And here are some Videos:

But I think it’s a little bit better with IOS 12.2 final.

It’s very hard to explain the Jitter problem, if the other person do not often read articles news feeds and books on the phone. But if you do that, you instantly recognize the problem.
Yes, the micro-jitter or micro-stutter is very evident in these videos. My XS max does not have those symptoms. I'm guessing this is an issue, but not for everybody.

This is exactly what I am on about with the scrolling. Does not happen all the time but it’s there.

My max does not exhibit those symptoms.

Who cares that your Max is ok? you only annoy everyone around you because we are gathering here to talk only about what is not ok. After updating to 12.2 is a bit better although I can tell myself that ...

Massacre. even after turning everything off. You can also turn your phone into a normal calculator with a call option. Much cheaper will come out, add an apple logo and it will be ok;)
[doublepost=1553620792][/doublepost]I have a petition for you. Either it already seems to me or when the battery drops to 20% and lower the phone becomes more responsive. Strange because it should probably be the other way around. Is it sometimes not so that less than 20% of the phone turns off the functions that it can not handle and by this coincidence also disables any service in the background, which we do not see which contributes to the problems with the performance of the device. Is quality possible to pay attention to? When the phone is charged, it works like it's worse.

It's possible that some inspiration may come of all posts in this thread. As long as a post is on topic, MacRumors welcomes all posts. However, maybe Apple is on track to fixing the issue that a minority seem to be reporting.

Of course it doesn’t ! We know that already.
I found a few mates at work who had the Xs and max that I could replicate the issue with they all

We can’t speculate on a minority affected by this problem. No one knows how many devices are affected by this issue.

Here is a speculation; before the apple thread was terminated it had reached 1500 people (this is people who hit the me too button) as soon as the issue got reported to the media through numerous forums, apple disabled the me too tab so you no longer could see how many people hit the me to button (fact). The me too Button was shaded black and you could no longer see the rising number of people who acknowledge the issue with there devices. Within a few days the thread disappeared. Anyways there are more people saying they have a problem then people who are saying they don’t. This is a fact and you can see it on all the threads including this one, well at least the ones that have not been taken down. Strange is this not. Maybe apple are on track trying to solve this but this is also a speculation as they have not acknowledged the issue yet and are ignoring customers.

Has anybody changed his iphone at apple because of this problem? Should I do it? Or is that rather not smart hahah

Just had a good check of my phone after using 12.2 and the scroll jitter is still there. My games are still stuttering when navigating around the screen. Keeping your finger on the screen whilst scrolling is crap forcing me to swipe and release as usual. Sometimes it’s smooth and sometimes it’s not. Will have a good check this weekend on my third replacement device. Was easy to get the first replacement because the apple shop manager agreed with me and also said she had it on her phone saying it would be fixed in next update. That was 6 months ago.

On my second replacement. Getting a third next week ! Wife has the stutter on her XR but she is not bothered ! Crazy in it ! Her car is an old banger and stalls every 10 seconds so she is used to it. Me on the other hand, like my gadgets and have always had good attention to detail which is something a lot of people lack.

I haven't concluded anything. I said that I'm inclined to believe that this issue has plagued every single device, which means that I lean towards that notion. I'm not sure, nor do I short-sightedly think that I'm dead right.

And like I mentioned a few times before, I don't wish that were true. I wish quite the opposite. You don't think we want to have these problems, do you? We happily gave our money to Apple expecting something great.

Please explain to me, how is it possible that even brand new replacements and in-store units exhibit this behavior?

I would argue that people who don't experience the issue in question are of absolutely no help to those who do, unless they provide a solution.

I will tell you that for the first time in a very long time there has been a hope that I can fix it, something tells me that they can not be indifferent to the growing scale of the problem.

Okay it’s one speculation. The other speculation is the apple thread was so off topic it got canned.

As far as the number of people claiming they had an issue, only the motivated with an issue tend to post. Those who are content with their device, issue or not, why post “I’m happy?” It this affected 100% of individuals it’s my contention there would be a media fire storm. Therefore I’m assuming (correctly or not) this is a minority problem.

I still test 12.2 in every way and I think that Apple should go in this direction! So that finally have some satisfaction with the use.
