Can you see if it is the same with you? If I unlock the phone and quickly switch between home page i see shuttering ! It really annoys .. and when I switch from the App switcher back to homepages and wipe there too :(
Have you been able to fix this yet? The same exact thing happens to my XS max, it lags when swiping the page right after unlocking and it’s very annoying. I’ve already tried resetting all settings and erasing the device and setting up as new and nothing has worked. Don’t know if a restore in dfu mode via iTunes will work because a normal restore fixed the problem momentarily, but it started doing the same thing again even when setting up as a new phone. A reboot and hard rest also only fix the problem momentarily. I am on the official release of 12.3. Has anyone been able to fix this? Please help, Apple insists my device is fine and won’t replace it via warranty.

I did everything but nothing fixed the problem. After resetting, the iPhone will run for a while without stuttering, but after that it will run as before. I had my iPhone replaced because of this problem but this one works the same way.

someone tried the first Beta of iOS 12.4?
[doublepost=1558177682][/doublepost]When looking for any update I get the following message continuously "there was an error while looking for software update"

I did, and it seems a lot smoother, but the stutter is still there when scrolling, it’s the most annoying thing ever...

Apple seems to be tweaking things under the covers. 12.4b1 “feels” slightly different, not in a bad way, to 12.3.

There doesn’t seem to be any systematic issues with stuttering / shuddering.

12.3
It appears that stutter when closing apps still present, but much less noticeable.
Stutter when scrolling web pages in safari I can’t reproduce.

Maybe iOS 13 will solve all of this issues . iOS 12 with iPhone XS Max was my worst experience ever .. literally I have no hope that they will fix something in iOS 12 ..

In my case, I finally managed to install 12.4 beta 2. Earlier, I had a small problem with it that was solved. The beta 2 tests do not bring anything new under the UI performance quality, it is still unsatisfactory because after a few hours of inactivity and re-use the device once slows down once it speeds up once it snaps slightly and sometimes works ok. Anyway it is not the wow effect on which we wait.

I have same problem with my XS Max. my iPhone has very slightly stutter when scrolling in apps even Safari and Instagram and I can see this problem in opening and closing apps animation too. I did not have this kind of issue in iPhone 5 and iPhone 7.
I Install iOS 12.4 beta 2 but no improvement, I guess when I turn off the auto-brightness I can see less stutter, but it does not mean the stutter 100% fixed. to those people that say there is no stutter in their phone, I should say I see this problem in other two iPhone XS Max.

Yes it’s always anecdotal as to who has symptoms of a software issue. The burden of proof seems to be proving one doesn’t have issues...

No, do you have stutter issue in your phone?
I’ve had my Xs Max since launch day, and it was way worse when it came out, it’s slowly improved but it still stutters every now and then. I always ask if there are improvements to see if it’s beneficial to upgrade or not.

Same here. Did you go to apple store to show the issue to them?
