So if you worked in a store that sold iPod's, and a customer came in and asked if they could have an iPod you'd say, "iPod Touch, iPod Classic, iPod Nano or the iPod Shuffle?" instead of "The Touch, Classic, Nano or Shuffle?"

Yes, that's exactly how I would handle it. I would probably berate them because they are a bunch of 15 year old idiots as well.

I am hoping people can sense that I am being sarcastic.

I would have thought that by now it would have made sense for Apple to have a standard aspect ratio for displays on their portable devices. Especially now with videos and applications taking a more important role.

I'd run'em out of the store on a rail for not knowing enough to call it what it really is.

A rose by any other name........ unless it's an iRose and then it's a very specific thing!

Ah ****.

It better have more storage and internal speakers to make up for that thicker, ugly design. Part of why I loved the iPod touch is because of how thin it is. And the curve on the back? Not a fan. Hopefully, this design sheet makes it look worse than it is. And I hope it's not plastic. PLEASE, stay away from the plastic.

I don't care for GPS. What's the point if you're just using WiFi anyways? But for such a design change, they might as well throw that in too.

And it's not that the Nano looks like the Zune. It's not Apple's fault that Microsoft copied them, and I don't think Apple will let that limit them. I do think it's different/peculiar that they'd make the 4G Nano that much larger than the previous gen.

Anyways, I'm kinda frustrated right now. I'll still look forward to Tuesday. What I see then is what really matters.

What would the benefits of N on the Touch or the iPhone be? Internet speeds for 99% of the users still is slower that the max speed of G...

Agreed. n makes sense for laptops which are transferring a lot of data wirelessly (Time Capsule) or for streaming media (AppleTV) but for mobile devices right now it takes too much power and the benefits are small or non-existent compared to g.

The new iPod Touch shape is very interesting...

I don't think it's speakers, as that wouldn't cause an extra bulge at the back.

I'm hoping the report of GPS being added is true. I think the Touch could make a nice little GPS unit for your car, instead of buying a dedicated unit for $150 or $200. The main hardware is there- reasonably large color touchscreen, lots of memory for map storage.

so much discussion over what people call the ipod touch. good lord, get a life, people. there's a war going on, a presidential election, the economy sucks, college tuition going through the roof . . . but let's gripe over someone calling the touch an itouch. yeah, this is a place for apple rumors, so how about talking about the apple rumors instead of boiling over on symantics.

that said, i think the new nano (or "ipod nano" for some of you freaks) sucks. i'd rather they keep the current form factor and use the money, time and people going into R&D on a nano that is fine with fixing current problems with current products.

I, too, hope for no plastic design. The current design is great.

But GPS would be so useful; i.e. when I'm biking in the wilderness, or lost in the city. And it would open a ton of new possibilities with the App store. And you don't need WiFi for GPS. You can have preloaded maps, and then just access the GPS satellites directly.

GPS would be so great I couldn't care less if the Touch gets slightly thicker in the process. And the same for external speakers, and more memory.

The iPod nano comment was a joke to actually illustrate that people are being nuts.

How can you know if a product that doesn't exist sucks or doesn't suck?

rahh i need a new laptop!!

Ive been looking at the dell website and their small 13" laptop is tempting me.
