Ah ****.

It better have more storage and internal speakers to make up for that thicker, ugly design. Part of why I loved the iPod touch is because of how thin it is. And the curve on the back? Not a fan. Hopefully, this design sheet makes it look worse than it is. And I hope it's not plastic. PLEASE, stay away from the plastic.

Internal speakers? Dont you mean EXternal? I'm looking forward to the new backs. my ipod touch whitch broke down few months back got nothing but scratchs..

I don't care for GPS. What's the point if you're just using WiFi anyways? But for such a design change, they might as well throw that in too.

You dont, but others do. Also, you dont need wi-fi to use GPS. How many times must that be said around here?

Anyways, I'm kinda frustrated right now. I'll still look forward to Tuesday. What I see then is what really matters.

Well people were frustrated over the "fat" nanos, now about half are still... but oh well, you cant please everyone...

Could it have an accelerometer, just like the iPhone and Touch?

my idea for the nano

a "vitual" click whell, When you turn it on its side, the controls flip to the right direction.

Last I checked Apple had a 13" laptop, two of them. :p

But so underspeced (or overpriced) no idiot would buy one.

Laptops from other manufacturers in similar price ranges as the Macbook tend to have better specs than the 17-inch Macbook Pro.

Can't really tell how curved the screen is, or if it is curved at all from those dimensions.

It looks like it might be curved slight at the top and bottom (if holding it for 16:9 viewing). You can see where the radius of the extrusion curves up to the radius of the screen. It looks like it will be a very flat curve though (big radius).

And to whoever said is looked like AutoCAD. Um, yeah it sure does. I bet these are just the 'blah' dwg's they give to the case manufacturers. They have to design in SolidWorks, ProE, UG, something along those lines. Giving those views doesn't give away the true ID.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPod; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5C1 Safari/525.20)

if the new iPod touch included GPS, does anybody think that apple might announce a turn-by-turn solution for the touch and iPhone? Maybe iTunes 8 could aid in the delivery of maps to devices. Or would this be a purely third-party thing?

Anyone else notice that the diameters aren't dimensioned? It'd tend to think that's rather important - especially for the new nano...

This idiot over here loves his overpriced MBA :D

..but I have to admit, that I'd like to see MacBook updated. (and I'm sure it will be, soon enough)

I really want the new touch. Any idea how long it will be after the 9th for them to be on sale in store??

It would mean that I wouldn't have to run my AEBS in b/g/n compatible mode or have a separate b/g router just for the Touch or iPhone. THAT is the biggest benefit, and it *is* a big one to me.
yup me too.
Though in apples defense, my 3G iPod is still kicking on its original disk drive.

Oh yeah baby! I replaced the battery in my 10GB 3G iPod last year and it now serves as my Jeep iPod with the original iTrip!

It's iPod TOuch not iTouch that really makes me mad when people say iTouch they sound like idiots who don't know anything about technology.

if that makes you mad i bet you will hate the new small touch screen model they are coming out with. its going to be like a watch and focus on personal settings but still use touch screen technology. Because of the focus on the individual experience it will be referred to as iTouch Myself.

I was talking about the Macbook and MBP. The MBA is actually supposed to be thin, and does so for a price. The MB and MBP are both twice as high-priced as their industry counterparts spec for spec, unless you care about thinness, which I don't.

Nano looks like a step back. I prefer the fatboy. New one seems like too much wasted space. Not obviously bigger screen. Awkward to see videos.

Decide when you see it, that's the conclusion I came to on the fat iPod Nano, which I thought was ugly from the spy shots, but turned out to love it when I got it in hand.

...The new case appears to be slightly thicker than the existing iPod Touch and also reveals physical volume controls which are absent on the current iPod Touch.

That would be sweet. I don't really like to take my iPod out of my pocket only to lower the volume on one track and do it again for the next one. I know, there's that option called "Sound check" (which I never liked because it never really worked for me).

So if Im reading this correctly:

New iPod nano: Height: 3.57 inches (90.75mm), Width 1.53 inches (38.75mm), Depth 0.24 inches (6.08mm) Total Volume: 1.311
Current iPod nano: Height: 2.75 inches (69.8 mm), Width: 2.06 inches (52.3 mm), Depth: 0.26 inch (6.5 mm) Total Volume: 1.473

New iPod touch: Height : 4.37 inches (111mm), Width: 2.43 inches (61.80mm), Depth 0.33 inches (8.40mm) Total Volume: 3.504
Current iPod touch: Height: 4.3 inches (110 mm), Width: 2.4 inches (61.8 mm), Depth: 0.31 inch (8 mm) Total Volume: 3.199

Don't forget that the new iPod touch has a curved back, so while on its thickest part it can be thicker than the existing iPod touch, the overall volume can be either bigger, the same or smaller than the existing one.

Is anyone actually thinking of a possibility that the 8gb will be discontinued and we will see the 16gb as a starting price point (299)?
