Tried it on three Touches. You need to close iTunes and let it sync. Clicking on "Update" takes to a screen that says the iTunes Store is down.

When I hit the Sync button, I finally got the 2.0-is-available message but it goes nowhere when I click Update.

*UPDATE*

THis is now what i'm getting but it's really starting to p**s me off!

All the iPod touch needs now is an external speaker, so I can hear the game play, without having to use the headphones. I wouldn't play on a Nintendo DS, while using headphones, so I don't like the idea of playing games on the touch, while using headphones.

An external speaker would be a nightmare on an iPod. It's already bad enough on public transport with everyone playing music from their mobiles.

I'd imagine it would also bugger up the design and force the iPod Touch to be a bit fatter.

I'm literally just sitting here, toggling between refreshing this thread in Safari, going to the iPod Touch page on the Apple site and clicking that link, and going to my ipod in iTunes and checking for an update.

It's my impression that the lot of us are reasonably intelligent people.. ever imagine we would be sitting in front of a screen salivating to spend 10 bux and hitting refresh over and over till we do..?
