Can't believe what just ahppened to me! Had it downloading for my iPhone, finished downloading, and then it disappeared from the downloads screen. Wen to the iphone screen in itunes and it siad update, that then changed back to check for updates.

How unlucky is that haha

Then 5 minutes later I get message to check on update again on 7/17/2008 ?

I wonder if I use my proxy and set my IP to EU time or New Zeland would make this message any different ?

Reverted back to "1.1.4 is the current version" here near Gettysburg! C'Mon Apple!

It cycles through this every time you hit the browser link and push the update button.

I had tried to restore back down to 1.1.4 (i had been runing Beta 5a345) and it failed. I was then notified (while in DFU mode) that there was a update available. it downloaded and installed, with no prompt for payment.

A forced (option-click) downgrade? Or did you just try to 'upgrade' w/ 1.4 being the 'latest' version?

Upstate NY here. 8:55 AM and still no update for iPod touch. Any links to the iTunes store give me the error that the iTunes store is unavailable. Clicking "Check for Updates" alternates between giving a broken link to iTunes and saying 1.1.4 is the most recent software.
