You can't use the unzipped version. Throw that folder away.

The original zip file is in the trash drag it out. remove the .zip extension - leave the .ipsw extention, then in iTunes click restore while holding the option button and select the file. It takes about ten minutes or so to do the update.

Yep...just realized all of that. Redownloading. Kicking myself. :(

I finished DLing the sneaky file....

"Prepping iPod for Software Restore" took a few nervous minutes (probably 5-7)

Currently halfway done "Restoring iPod Software"

weeeeeeeeeeeeee

This roll-out is definitely the worst Apple had in the last few years.

- Me.com isn't really working like it should.
- iPhone 3G has been sold out in most T-Mobile-Stores in Germany this morning, even before they opened.
- Only a few are able to download the 2.0 FW.

The only thing working is the AppStore at iTunes. Sure, there's the source of the money...

The download went SO much faster the first time. I'm getting about a tenth of the download speed I had before. Stop downloading everyone! :p

this is quickly becoming ridiculous and embarrassing.

in canada and i have seen the same problems everyone else has been having. it's like they're holding a carrot just out of reach...

When I plugged my iPod into my PowerBook it showed that the update was available. I don't know if this has been posted but just letting you guys know.

Edit: And just a couple of minutes later it shows 1.1.4 again. I am really annoyed now.

Welcome to the club! :D

they said it wont be released until 8am PST, so that is 11 am EST (i live in Boston)...but this sneaky thing is tempting

the fact that the JSU is included in the 2.0 made me think that i wasted 20 bucks,...but the app store is worth the 10 bucks alone

i probably got my money's worth for the 6 months i used the JSU, at least that is what i am going to keep telling myself...

I really doubt it'll work, didn't the software update install some sort of encryption key in order to allow you to use the applications when you purchased it? Bet this isn't much different.

Oh well..I'm attempting the update now.

UK…

Downloaded, installed, restored …*'accessing iTunes Store', Error!

My phone is a vegetable until it 'does something' from this point … the iPhone page just says 'iPhone' in the middle of the screen.

my purchased songs from the phone etc are all 'missing' too …

Wha
