Why dont you guys just wait a couple of hours for the legit version to come out so that you know you have the best possible verison out there and you know it won't screw up on you. I've waiting 8 months for this and woke up really early and I'm still being patitent. Just wait.;)

Here Here......Well said that man :D All this fuss because some grown adults can't wait a few more hours to get the 'Official' product for their iPods. I agree :apple: could do more and its very frustrating for all of us but at the end of the day all this aggrovation won't make Apple fix it any quicker.......Chill the F*ck out people

How are some people getting it now and others (like me) not?

I wonder that too... I am so tempted to just take the "unofficial" release but am afraid that it will mess up my iPod because I have no clue what I'm doing. I am just reeeeally hoping that they can smooth things out tonight.

£12.95!?!?!?!?!

I was at the Apple Store today London Regent Street branch.

When I asked the Apple store seller/genius about the pricing of the iPod Touch update he said £12.95!!!!

Can anyone confirm this?

Please tell me we're not getting screwed once again here... £12.95 is $26.6! That's more that TWICE the price Apple is charging for an electronic update over in the States.

Can anyone confirm this?

Australian 2.0

The "iPhone 2.0 Software Update for iPod touch" link is finally available in Australia. Find it at this address:

www.apple.com/au/ipodtouch/appstore

Still no update though, upon clicking the link the iTunes Store displays 'accessing' for a while and then stops, as if nothing ever happened.

I don't think we'll be waiting too long now...

I'm just going to wait.
There's no sense in getting upset over this.
It's not like you paid for it already and now you can't get it.

It's just a couple more days without Apps and the extra goodies. It will be okay.

I'm not a grown adult, so this has no effect on me. I can keep on complaining then ;)

I'm sorry to say that it has been this way for the US store for most of the day, and the link has not been working there either. Best of luck those of you down under (for whom July 11 has come and gone).

:mad::mad::mad::rolleyes: I'm based in the UK and have had iTunes on since 6AM. Hitting the Update button (slowly losing the will to live with every push may I add :D) is now getting silly. Once or twice during the day it has said it's found the 2.0 but then tells me iTunes is Temp Closed which it clearly isn't. Then within 5 secs it switches back to my Ipod summary screen telling me that the 1.1.4 version is the current, up to date version. Has anyone else had this or is it I'm doing ( or not ) doing?

Any positive comments appreciated. guys.

No 3G, no touch either

After returning around 11 AM without a 3G (sold out), I spent the rest of the day trying to update my iPod touch. I can honestly say that went just as well as trying to buy an iPhone -- a total waste of time.

At least my touch still works.

I wonder if anyone who was lucky enough to get one of the iPhones was able to activate them after itunes bit the dust around 9 AM EDT?

I've been going through the same thing today mate...

Only I didn't wake up at 6AM I went to bed at 5AM. I went to the Regents Street Apple store in hopes of some info on the matter and instead I got some very silly reasons which I right away knew didn't have anything to do with the chaos. One even said it was due to the massive rains we've been having and at that point I had to ask him : PLEASE tell me you're not a genius. He chose to not comment, but said later that it's got something to do with the storms and the connection to the US servers. The guy in general was really into the fact that it HAD to do something with water... :/

Please help ME!!! I´m stuck in DFU mode unable to restore from 2.0 to 1.1.4

Please Help!!

Error code 20

Normal mode in ZiPhone doesn´t work.

I don't feel like reading through 33 pages of comments...suffice it to say, I'm glad I never bought the Jan. update, as I've saved 20 bucks and now have a real incentive to get it all for $10. Just as I'm sure people who bought in Jan. are (rightly) cheesed off at the continued arbitrary Apple pricing.

Not till Monday?!!

OMG I have been trapped at work all day looking forward to coming home and purchasing (yes, paying money) for the 2.0 upgrade. A whole weekend to play with it; and now this! :(

Truly disappointed, MAJOR DOWNER. ACK!

Well, I can normally update to 2.0, but cannot downgrade to 1.1.4.

I´m out of DFU mode but I´m in 2.0 and I want 1.1.4. Still trying ;)

well, I tried to update mine. but link what apple suggest is not working. so I downloaded firmware only which is only for ipod touch. right now, it shows 2.0 in my itouch. so now I install all of content again which is already saved before. all of process is taken 15 minutes or more. in the section of ipod touch area on itunes 7.7, there is new applications tap.

What problems are you having with 2.0?

It´s a long story....

First I download the torrent for the .ispw file of 2.0.
Upgrade my iPod, perfect, applications and music perfectly synched.
Want to downgrade to 1.1.4 from iTunes 7.7 and the iPod in DFU mode.
Error (20) while restoring the iPod.
Stuck on DFU mode, tryed Normal mode of ZiPhone and nothing.

Right now I´m able to update again to 2.0 but no downgrading. That´s my problem. What I really want is:

1. Downgrade to 1.1.4
2. Buy the 2.0 Upate whenever its available on the iTunes store.

Now: How I can downgrade to 1.1.4 without faving that error? Downloading iTunes 7.5?

Now it is acknowledging again that 2.0 is the most up to date, but the "learn more" button is again a dead link.

I just clicked "Check For Update" and it showed up saying that 2.0 was available but when you click it, it acts like you didn't do anything... I have no clue if this is new news or not but it's the first time I have seen that since they took the servers offline (I saw it earlier this morning). Before when they took the servers offline, I just got the 1.1.4 is the current version thing. When you click this one it also doesn't give you any errors. Like I said, I have no clue if this is "new" or not but it's the first I've seen. Hopefully this could mean something good tonight! :D
