There is one download that isn't but it goes really slow (the site limits to 50kb/s) and seems to keep stopping.

Actually all you have to do for a screen shot is hold the home button and press the power/sleep button. No 3 second rule needed...

Seriously! Or can some nice people here who have already downloaded the torrent give me the file? :)

[edit: look guys, you can't distribute this app]

100% works

P.S the rumors are true, iTunes takes a backup of your full library before update takes place then its up to you after the install completes ( about 10-15 nerve racking minutes ) to sort out your iPod sync options before re-loading all your library content back to your iPod.

Hope this helps

I need instant gratification. Still can't get 2.0 and I have apps I can't use. We have weather here and I'll never know it without my touch! :D

No not a torrent, the actual FILE. I don't do torrents...

From what I've heard, you press and hold the home and the sleep button for 3 seconds. I wouldn't really know, I don't have the UPDATE, and I don't think Apple knows it.

Hold the Home button then hit the sleep button like you were taking a photo with a camera - the screen flashes white and the image ends up in the "Saved Images" album on the iPod touch.

If you have any images saved in there when you plug in the iPod it will open iPhoto and you can transfer them over like you would with any other digital camera.

Same thing happens with images you've saved from the web. Hold your finger down on an image and you get a pop up menu asking if you'd like to save the image. It goes into the Saved Images album and you can do what you like with it - add it to a contact, make it your wallpaper - all sorts of stuff.

youtube works now

Earlier my youtube app was broken, however after downloading a couple more apps, my youtube app now works. yes I have the mysterious 2.0.

I started to upload a file to Megaupload, but it is very, very, very slow. I'm in the same pickle as you guys, cause I can't move this file to a computer that work with my iPod.

no holding for screen shots

Ok. Got it working.

More accurately, it would be holding onto the Home button for 3s, then use the sleep button to take the screenshot

for screen shots just tap the 2 buttons at the same time, no holding 1 or the other. you'll find yourself shutting it off instead of taking pictures.

I'm just surprised apple didn't anticipate this. Didn't they run into the same activation server crash issue with the first iphone release? I seem to recall that everyone was trying to activate at once and it crashed.

I certainly understand that this is a big release and that you can never truly plan for everything, but come on.

I totally agree with others that it would be helpful if apple even acknowledged this problem. I know they won't because they don't want to hurt their image, but it's just unfair. What about the person who has never visited macrumors? It's not like they have a support link to find out why they can't update their touches
