IMO, theres no point in sitting there and refreshing the Check for Updates button for ages. Just walk away for half an hour (like go for a walk or go in the shower or something) and download it when you come back. It is only a software update afterall, and it is a payed one.

It's up in the UK.

Tried it on three Touches. Yopu need to close iTunes and let it sync. Clicking on "Update" takes to a screen that says the iTunes Store is down.
