agh. i've been stuck on the preparing iphone software for restore screen for 5 minutes

Having spent ten minutes looking at the notice that 2.0 is available for my iPod, but not letting me load it (iTunes Store is unavailable blah blah) I tried restarting iTunes and resyncing my iPod and LO! Now it says that 1.1.4 is the latest version.

Fabulous. :)

i just tried to restore my beta 5a345 back to 1.1.4, and it failed, then it notified me of the new firmware, downloaded, and is currently installing. it didn't even ask me to purchase it?

Mine keeps going between 1.1.4 is the current version, and that there is a new version available. But still cant download...

Yeah, why would people want to Jailbreak, that's not official either.

Yes but Jailbreaking the official firmware - that's fine, great, go for your life. But loading a pre-release beta version on and using it like it's the official one? That's just st00pid. Why is it not the final release? Hmm, let me think, presumably because it's unsafe, not secure, has a bug or two in there...

But fine, I guess they're the sorts of people who think unprotected one night stands are a really cool idea... ;)

I have a feeling that the download hasn't been completely spread to all the akamai servers and proxy servers that hang around the country. That would explain the changing links and people getting it before others.

Don't get me wrong - I'm ready to get it just like the rest of us....but lets just take a few minutes, get some coffee (or Mountain Dew for me)...and get it in a few minutes

I am currently...THIS close to...well I don't know exactly what, but I can tell you if Apple Australia make us wait until Monday or the Weekend, they will be getting a pretty chock-full email.

allbrokeup.
