iPod touch iPod Touch 5G Release Date

I'm torn about it as well. We have a few iPad's in our family, but I truthfully use my iPod Touch more, even at home. It goes with me everywhere and I use it for most of my entertainment and as a "PDA" device to keep all my personal stuff intact.

I would have an iPhone if I didn't, but years ago my wife and I decided to go without a cell plan. To this day, we still haven't found a justifiable reason that we have to own one. So the iPod Touch fits my needs perfectly.

I can't see the iPad Mini falling at the $200 price mark. I'm guessing $300 with 16gb, but who knows.

Yeah, same here. They usually don't make it this way until 2ish. I hope they get to us sooner!

This is exactly why I bought a new iPod touch. I had a iPhone for a while, but the cost was to expensive for what I got out of it.

Also, it seems like every truck like thing possible is going down my street. The freakin' water meter reader just passed by.
 
My 64gb pink touch arrived a few minutes ago, in MD. I've got it charging & syncing w/iTunes now.

I'm upgrading from 3'rd gen. I can't believe how light the new iPod is! The screen seems much more responsive than my old ipod's. (Maybe it's just my imagination, but I noticed a difference when I was putting in the pw for my router.)

Not sure how much I like the pink color. It's not really what I consider pink. And, I wonder how the color is going to hold up over time. I'm probably going to look for a clear protector for the back.

The Internal speaker is an improvement over the 3G. I'm playing music via AirPlay. There's a BIG problem there! It keeps skipping & repeating. Could be because the iPod is still synching w/iTunes. But, that's via cable, so I wouldn't think so. AirPlay issues would be a big deal for me because I've got several speakers throughout the house.

Update: The skipping/repeating via AirPlay stopped once the iPod was done syncing with iTunes. :). That went really fast. I've got over 32gb of audio. From here on out, it'll sync via wifi.

I have no idea what time to expect them. I don't have much experience ordering things online. Fortunately, I don't have the problem you do of a bunch of trucks passing down the street. It's quieted down significantly, nothing is going on outside. Which actually might be worse... because if a truck does pass by and it's not the FedEx truck, I'll be even more disappointed...

UPDATE: the most disappointing thing ever just happened. A UPS truck just showed up with a package for my mom... I mean, really?!

I'm still waiting. Tried playing the piano to relax myself, but it didn't work very well. The regular USPS mail truck and a UPS truck have both driven by, but I haven't seen any sign of FedEx yet. It's disappointing. Like I said, I know I'll get it today, but I wanted it before work so I could actually use it at work for the first time. It's disappointing that they missed their time estimate by this much. I won't ever trust those times again...
 
A few minutes ago, right as I was complaining about UPS not even having scanned my package as being out for delivery, the doorbell rang.

Now I have my new 64GB black iPod Touch! It makes my 3rd gen look really bulky in comparison.
 
My 32GB Black/Slate iPod Touch arrived about 15 mins ago. Looks sweet!!! Working on syncing it with my iTunes content now, can't wait for it to finish!

Oh come on, this just isn't fair :p I just have to sit here and wait while everyone else gets theirs before I do. I have to leave for work in like 20 minutes too... I have a feeling I won't be around when it arrives. Mom will sign for it, and work will go by super slow because I know a brand new iPod will be waiting for me when I get home. Then again, that's kinda fun too... either way, as long as I get it today I'll be a happy man :)

Oh man. Here in Germany nobody (including the apple employees) knows anything about the release of the iPod touch. We still have to wait. :(
But for all the happy people who have already received the device: Have FUN! :D

Someone had to go there :p we were all thinking it. Oh well, I can have my mom text me when it does arrive so at least I know it's at home waiting for me. The feeling of not knowing is probably the worst feeling of all. My parents aren't helping anything either, since they're suggesting I might not get it until Monday... I don't know why, it's listed as being on a FedEx vehicle right now. Why would they load it up and then drive it back to the local facility? That'd be dumb.
 
At least you guys are getting it today.

Mines only a 5 hour drive away from me but stupid delivery days/timings means I don't get it until Monday.
 
I got my red touch in the mail at 11:00 today and I love it. I would post pictures if I knew how:) One thing I noticed is how much faster the wifi is on it, the wifi on my 4g was bad on the 3g it was good but on the 5g it is great. The wifi spot probably did it some good.
 
So jealous of you guys!!

I've been waiting forever. It says 10:30AM expected and now it's 2:45PM. I can't even leave the house to go out for my bday hangouts cuz I'm waiting to sign for it. Well this really sucks..
 
Very annoyed. It's 6:07pm. It's been on the vehicle for delivery since 8:57am. I live 30 mins from the depot. I'm flying out of town on Monday morning, so if I don't get it tonight, then I'm out of luck until the end of next week. And I need to leave my place as soon as possible.
 
Once y'all get yours, please post pics of them, I know there were already some but none were red. I really wanna see the red because I dont really know how itll look. Ive seen instances where it has looked good and bad so if I could get a clear shot of the red and its beauty, I would be very happy! :D
I ordered the 22nd so I have to wait till the 24th or later for mine...:|
Oh well, keep postin those pics!

EDIT: I have finally found a good page not only displaying the red put also comparing it to other models.

Finally got it! As predicted, it showed up right after I left for work. My mom said the delivery guy was really sorry; apparently some system glitch caused him to miss my order when he was in the neighborhood during the morning, so he had to stop by on his afternoon run. All is forgiven, of course :) I'm just opening the box now, I'll check back in after I'm done to let everyone know what I think!

Glad you got it! By glitch did he mean he popped your box open and was messing with it himself? :p

What color did you get? Congrats bud!
