If apple can port something similar to HyperCard for iPod touch then you dont need Xcode to develop applications. You can just create your stacks of programs using HyperCard or should I say TouchCard :) all on your device and write the scripts using TouchTalk. :D

Man, this would made this device even more popular to kids and all ages.

HyperCard = TouchCard
HyperTalk = TouchTalk

I think I have something here. I do hope apple is reading this.

I think I'll submit this idea to Apple - Support - Suggestions website.
Who knows!!!

"I would rather be surprised..."

Than spooned like a goose? I think you mean "I would be rather surprised".

My predictions in bold.

0x1290 iPhone1,1 - iPhone
0x1291 iPod1,1 - iPod touch
0x1292 iPhone1,2 - iPhone 3G
0x1293 iPod2,1 - iPod touch 2G
0x1294 iPhone2,1 - iPhone 3G (previously unknown)
0x1295 iProd0,1 - laptop replacement size tablet
0x1296 iPod2,2 - touch 64gig
0x1297 iPhone3,1 - 3G capable tablet
0x1298 iFPGA - upgraded AppleTV/gaming platform
0x1299 iPod3,1 - touch w/camera video compass

We should also see the EOL of the white MacBook and the AIR with the tablet taking the place of both as cheap and light.
Coming in a September special announcement with Steve as host.

If they do not bump the capacity to 64gb I'm giving up on apple.

And go with who? Who makes MP3 players with 64GB?

Cue "It is our policy not to accept unsolicited ideas".

I myself have a certain Special Thing that I would love love love to see Apple make — not least because Apple is the only company that could truly pull it off — and I'd be willing to sign NDAs up the wazoo just to find out if they're working on it or not, let alone to get to pitch it to them if they aren't.

But there's always...The Policy. (*thunder*)

NOW can we get a thin 240GB Classic? Yeah I know I know but some of us have HUGE libraries
It depends on the largest hard drives available, it was 120 GB last year and with the new MacBook Air still having 120 GB, I'm not sure if we'll see a capacity increase. They might keep selling the iPod classic 120 GB at the same price and silently drop it next year.

I am in this exact same boat too.

I have emailed them 5 cool ideas that would make this device kick ass. But to this day i have not gotten any response. I wonder rather they're actually reading those enhancement request!!! or are we really emailing into their spam folder?

 I guess I'm a bad inventor.

Please Apple? :D

Remember when everyone said that iPod will never be a portable game console. Well, it is now and its kicking butts.

And then they said Apple TV will never be a game console. Well, I think apple begs to differ and will turn heads in the next release.

I love competition between Apple and MS. My hope is that Apple makes a technologically advanced iPod Touch that beats the pants off of the MS Zune HD.

An iPod Touch with a camera and light and a HI-RES OLED display would be great for starters. Same brains as the iPhone 3GS and 32Gb and 64Gb RAM versions would also be appreciated. GPS should be added in there as well since that does not rely on the cell networks.

Oh great

Currently experiencing my first power failure this year  and typing in the dark is not really my thing at (now) 3:36am without my usual wake up cappuccino so yeah... I suck (my new UPS works great though, but it lacks the juice for my room lights).

LOL I am actually going to use my flashlight now, and walk down the kitchen and boil some water in a kettle for a "manual" cappuccino.

Well, being that it's a form that they get lots of other, non-idea-related stuff from, they would have to read it just to know whether to pursue the comment/question further or throw it in the "idea spam" pile. And it doesn't mean you're a bad inventor, just that they're covering their butts. ;) (They basically have to say "la la la, we're not listening" so that if they do incidentally come up with something that's eerily close to someone's submitted idea, they don't get sued for supposedly ripping it off.)

i thought it had a mic already. Shows how much I know. I see no major revolutionary features. I see it piggybacking the iphone in terms of new features. It might not have all of them, but it wont be anything "amazing" and "revolutionary". Also storage will probably get boosted to 64Gb. Yeah, another less than spectacular release.

Now when they start incorporating multi-core into touches and iphones....

hmmmmmmm

The one think I like about Zune HD is that it has a flat back.

iPod touch with the rounded curvatures makes my rulers and balancing tools useless. Am I the only one that noticed this. And when I put the iPod touch on my desk to use it like a calculator and as I press on the touch buttons it keeps wobbling making it difficult to use. In some ways I would have liked it better if the ipod touch had a flat back and straight edges.

I personally don't believe they read any of those emails.

I think they use some sort of data mining software that looks for patterns and frequencies and extracts them to the researcher versus someone actually opening the email and looking at what someone said.

Basically if there is an idea or a suggestion that a lot of people are requesting that will show up in the mining of the data which then can be compiled, formatted and presented as a report to the researchers.

That's what I would do when your being bombarded with thousands if not millions of emails a day.

Silly me, that probably is more likely. :D

This might clarify your concerns.

lolz, I love this part.

You agree that: (1) your submissions and their contents will automatically become the property of Apple, without any compensation to you ; (2) Apple may use or redistribute the submissions and their contents for any purpose and in any way; (3) there is no obligation for Apple to review the submission; and (4) there is no obligation to keep any submissions confidential.

So straightforward. :)

An iPod touch based on the iPhone 3Gs is definitely coming this September. I expect it to offer 16, 32 and 64 GB storage capacities, especially since the iPod touch lacks the circuitry needed for a cellphone.

As for the iPod classic, don't be surprised if we see one last "refresh" based on the 6G classic, but now with have hard drive capacity increased from 120 GB single platter drive to 160 GB single platter drive. This will be the last iteration of the classic until the iPod touch gets a 128 GB model in September 2010.
