Absolutely. All governments are corrupt no exceptions. All politicians are nonces out for themselves and misusing tax payers money.

As for religion there should be a global ban on all religion. Just shut down and demolish all churches, synagogues, mosques etc. Amazing how much influence it has in society considering it’s just made up gibberish that never happened.
I was okay with your first part, but not the second.

Yes, most religions in our modern day, have been attached to some horrible atrocities to human kind, but there have been a few that actually promote peace and tolerance.

The problem isn’t religion, it’s people. Power corrupts, and people in power tend to use what ever tool they can to achieve their agenda.

If people as a whole could understand and live the two commandments Jesus Christ gave us, the world we have been at peace a long time ago. Love GOD with all your heart mind and might, and love your fellow man (human).

Using a primary source, Pete Hegseth himself, which he has repeatedly stated for anyone willing to listen, the goals of the US operation are as follows:

Objectives: A four-part strategy to militarily cripple Iran's ability to act against U.S. or allied interests.
  1. Destroy Offensive Missiles: Neutralize existing missile arsenals.
  2. Destroy Missile Production: Raze the infrastructure used to produce missiles and drones.
  3. Destroy Naval and Security Infrastructure: Target Iranian naval forces and security apparatus.
  4. Deny Nuclear Capability: Permanently ensure Iran cannot develop or possess nuclear weapons.
1. Unlikely to destroy all missiles unless the US goes in with ground troops to find all hidden missiles
2. Is temporary, unless the regime is toppled and a friendly one installed they will just rebuild
3. Naval doable, security is vague and likely not doable unless, again, the US deploys ground troops
4. Like 2, unless they topple the regime and ensure a friendly one is installed they will not stop trying to get a nuclear weapon.

The current war is pointless if the long term plan is to deny Iran a nuclear weapon, it's a delaying tactic at best.

Oh man! If the DUI hire said it, it must’ve been true and well thought out. He proved his expertise on national security once already with the Signal chats. You’re not instilling much confidence here with that.
Resorting to ad hominem attacks might seem like your scoring points ... but your losing it if you're doing it.
Also, what you’re implying was, we shouldn’t be listening to or believe anything the “commander-in-chief” says but the alcoholic he appointed?
General Caine has said the same thing. Unless you think he is also an alcoholic, I would respectfully suggest that you start listening to what the administration actually says -- not what the BBC is telling you they said.

Your continued defense of the Iranian terrorist regime says it all really. 36,000 dead civilians in ten days. Have a great day, sir.

“You’re” just proving my point.

I explicitly said I’m against Iran’s atrocities and yet you claim I support it. Get back to me when you have an actual argument based in fact and not the twisted right-wing tactics based on deflection and whataboutism.

AAA avg gas prices today: $4.02
Avg gas prices a month ago: $2.98

The highest AAA avg gas price is $5.02. This means if the war continues the price will hit and possibly surpass $5.02 by the end of April!

Yikes!

History books ... good grief. Stop with the propaganda please. The Iranian regime is pure evil by almost any measure. It has been plain to see for anyone paying attention for the last 47 years. But if you pick up a newspaper, you would know that the Iranian Regime you love so much murdered 36,000 innocent Iranian protestors in the street in a matter of ten days. It was one of the biggest massacres of civilians since WWII. It is using cluster munitions against civilian populations. So spare me your empty talk about "war crimes."
Of course "The Iranian regime is pure evil by almost any measure." Just like Saddam Hussein was pure evil by almost any measure.

But in neither case was the pure evil the point. The question in both [IMO wrong] wars was "Is going to war appropriate, worth the downside costs?" and the answer both times was no.

If someone thinks Iran is joking - think again. It all started with rumors that they are going to supply Russia with deadly drones to attack Ukraine back in 2022, and very same drones are still terrorizing the country and killing civilians in-between the attacks. See “Leave the World Behind” movie from 2023, it has lots of food for thought… As if it is a movie that tries to predict something.

C'mon. Saying the USA going to war is wrong is not saying Iranian terrorism is good.

Those are some bigly gas prices!

No one pretends that "Iran isn’t a threat at all." The point is that a threat level that would justify going to war with Iran was not even close. The war was flat stupid from the beginning.
There were multiple comments in here saying Iran isn’t a threat at all that’s what I was pushing back on. They absolutely are an issue. Between the things I mentioned and targeting U.S. interests abroad, that’s been well documented for years and is still happening today. That said, recognizing that doesn’t automatically mean it justifies going to war.

Let's expound on those answers. Let's assume Iran, using its current ballistic missile and nuclear technology (using either it's current plutonium or highly enriched uranium stock) eviscerates New York (or London for that matter), which is explicitly what they said they were planning to do with respect to the United States. Is the answer to your question still "no"? Even the IAEA reported that Iran has violated it international commitments well prior to hostilities.

The answer should be "yes" both times -- for the world and generations to come.

We obliterated their nuclear program last year ACCORDING TO THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION. So there was no imminent threat that justified the illegal attack.

Therefore, your hypothetical scenario is wrong, or the President lied to the American people.

And that’s before we get into the fact that Iran was complying with the deal that Trump tore up because he hated anything Obama did.

And now Trump has given the Iranians 14 billion dollars by removing sanction on their oil. But sure, he totally thought through the consequences of starting the war. 🙄

Well you are the first one in this thread, apparently, who actually is willing to take on arguments being made by US officials without the knee-jerk anti-American sentiment. So that is good. I respect that response. Buying time has been the policy of the world for many years. So, if it is indeed pointless in the long term in achieving the goals, I would posit that the attempt was worth it if the threat is eliminated for another ten years -- in which a lot can happen within Iran.

No, you are misinformed. The US did obliterate the reactors but did not capture the already existing nuclear material -- enough highly enriched uranium to create about 11 bombs assuming a viable delivery mechanism.

Moreover, Iran was not in compliance as reported by the IAEA back in 2025 -- so again not correct.

Also, it was Obama gave the Iranians $1.7 billion in cash -- not Trump. I would encourage you to read up more on the actual facts from neutral sources.

The US has no right to strike against Iran. The actions committed in the past month by the US show that the main focus of its foreign policy is to support, defend Israel no matter the cost. This is insane. Gas Prices are rising, the economy is destabilized - all because a few senile old men want to play games. Iran posed no threat to the US and any "threats" seem to be false flags. People have been saying Iran is "Weeks away from a Nuclear Weapon" for over 40 years now.

This is the Epstein War. I sure hope troops aren't sent to die on the battlefield for the Israeli regime. The MAGA base has been betrayed, now MAGA is the establishment. Trump dumped his followers in exchange for warmongering psychopaths like Lindsey Graham, Ted Cruz, etc.

Do you really believe we’re not tackling Iran’s aggressiveness every day? That’s what the intelligence agencies have been up to, thwarting attacks from enemies everyday.

You claim to take no sides but your every argument shows otherwise.
So your argument is we stop threats, therefore they’re not threats? That makes zero sense. The fact intelligence agencies are busy every day proves there’s a constant problem you don’t deploy that level of effort against something harmless. And the “you’re taking sides” line is weak. Calling out cyberattacks, proxies, and targeting of U.S. interests isn’t bias, it’s just reality.
You’re not making a point you’re just redefining threat so you don’t have to admit one exists. That is all.

Well, Tim, that’s the problem. When you suck up to one person, you have to figure out how to suck up to everybody.

The blame the Jews for causing America to go to war is a bad argument. History does seem to rhyme though on the scapegoating. Not a good look at all.

President Trump “Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term!”

VP Vance: “I can say to the American people with great confidence that they are much further away from a nuclear program today than they were 24 hours ago.”

Sec. Hegseth: “Based on everything we have seen — and I’ve seen it all — our bombing campaign obliterated Iran’s ability to create nuclear weapons.”

DNI Gabbard: “The operation was a resounding success. Our missiles were delivered precisely and accurately, obliterating key Iranian capabilities needed to quickly assemble a nuclear weapon.”

Th IDF Chiefnof Staff: “I can say here that the assessment is that we significantly damaged the nuclear program, and I can also say that we set it back by years, I repeat, years.”

That was in June. June 2025!

Moreover, Iran was not in compliance as reported by the IAEA back in 2025 -- so again not correct.
The deal was torn up in the first Trump administration. So something happening on 2025 wouldn’t have anything to do with within talking about.

Also, it was Obama gave the Iranians $1.7 billion in cash -- not Trump. So, all in all, you are very confused. I would encourage you to read up more on the actual facts from neutral sources.
Trump literally just gave $14 billion to Iran by easing sanctions. Your “neutral” news sources may not have mentioned it because it makes th administration look terrible. .

good luck with this discussion, do we start with Cyrus the great (whom the returning jews dubbed a messiah [properly anointed king]) or earlier . you have 5000 years or so of epigraphic history to choose from
