I deleted my Facebook 3 years ago, Twitter a few months ago, I just have Instagram and 64 contacts on my phone and I am 20 years old. I am the last person you can blame that seeks attention.

My reason for this post was to see how others were feeling about the minor update and change their mind about the 5S like I did.

Edit: Can anyone confirm if there is a return fee from Apple or not? Much appreciated.

First Apple product I have ever returned.

I am also on the verge of dumping these useless social media networks. Dumped facebook completely about 2 years ago. The only one I use is Twitter and that is getting on my nerves too. I guess we can agree that it just isnt necessary. WIth that being said, my apologies for assuming.

It really is such a minor update that it doesn't make sense upgrading from the 5 unless you have extra money or need one of the new features, but that's highly unlikely. It really amounts to a few new cool features but that's about it. You might as well put iOS 7 on your 5 and enjoy that experience for awhile and keep that extra money in your pocket. I'll guarantee you'll feel better about that. As soon as you return the 5s you'll know you made the right decision. Trust me.

Edit to your edit. It would show on the receipt if there is one. It's easy to return. Just hand your phone and receipt to the first apple employee you see when you walk in the store and they'll do it on the spot.

I am a iOS Developer, I've had iOS7 on my five for quite a while and loved it since Beta 3. First two beta were a pain in the a**. The update is so tiny, to best honest at this point I believe I was just sold on the hype and shinyness of Apple! lol.

& Thank you, 30 days to return with no return fee. Might keep using it a few more days to see if it grows on me to own it.

I am a iOS Developer ...

If you are a developer, use Xcode 5, switch to ARM 64-bit.
Look at the assembly listing and be AMAZED how compact and fast the code is.

Seriously, the new ARM 64-bit architecture will be used very soon.
Why return the phone?

Play with it and you'll see how much improvement you'll get from your code.

(Unless you aren't interested in developing ... many are just talking the talk.)

I do have another 5S for Developing testing, this one was just for personal use and that's what I posted about here y'know can't really have the Developer talk in these forums. I am serious about it, I am 20 and make a living of developing in mid-town Manhattan. How do you like The Verge iPhone app? ;)

I am excited by the new ARM 64-bit and played with it a few times. But again this post was more about my personal use.

I use my phone a lot, and although I didn't upgrade from the 4 to the 4S, plan to upgrade from the 5 to 5S. Why? I don't like pounding in my code each time to unlock, and I lock/unlock all the time (use it for work and personal life). The processor is a huge upgrade, and I'm sure in time developers will learn to make it sing. And lastly, even though I've got a DSLR and a great HD video camera, 95% of my casual photography is done with my phone, in variable light settings. The camera sensor has been nicely improved, the dual flash is going to be a significant improvement in low light.

Now, would I have gone out of contract to do this? No, I wouldn't have spent ~$950 for the 64 GB out-of-contract upgrade on Verizon. I was able to use a family member's upgrade (who will be getting my iPhone 5) and score one for less than ~$500, which is steep, but to me worth it.

But to each their own! If the upgrade isn't worth it to you, spend that cash elsewhere man! ;)

Great point man, the scanner is huge for me as well for the same reasons you said and is funny you said that because I did not upgrade from 4 to 4S but I did with the five. If I return it that cash is just going to my savings account. :D

Apology accepted. Get rid of twitter and we'll become bros. I'm kind of sick of only meeting girls online, I want to meet a random girl in the wild of NYC.

No ghost line bud.

Anyways, I want to return it I guess because I expected more. There isn't pretty much more I can do that I cannot do on the 5. Only thing I'm enjoying is the scanner. But why would I pay 600+ for a scanner you know.

i do agree here. my 5 gets LTE everywhere in my state and it's super fast on the go. don't care so much about the better camera and touch id is great, but not sure if it's the cingular reason a 5 owner would upgrade to the 5s

Hopefully the 64 bit technology will be around faster than tApplea thunderbolt craze. Most people are not even aware what the 64 bit technology can be used for in any case this is Apple prepping but I wound not count on seeing things anytime soon

Blur the last four of your card out.

You can see it today ... the only issue right now is that you cannot submit universal fat binaries to the store.

But you can try it locally.

I am returning it only because I want the gold one and not the gray I have. I wasn't going to leave the store empty handed after waiting for 5+ hours.

Coming from the 5 to the 5s for me and loving my new phone. I've gone for the black & grey and it's gorgeous. Noticing the battery is better too but it's still early days.

I like to think of myself here as a realistic poster and tell it like it is. The iPhone 5S was not for iPhone 5 owners to upgrade, plain and simple. This phone is better suited for people that have a 3GS/4/4S. People just get too high-strung and giddy over something new coming out and impulse buy without thinking clearly if what they are getting will satisfy them much more over what they currently have.

OP, take it back, it's not for you.

But mommy, I wanted the one I saw on the television!!!

I have to disagree with you there. The iPhone 5s is for anyone that wants to upgrade. Myself... I upgrade every year, it's what I like to do. It's not like I smoke or spend money on drugs or throwing money away for the sake of it.

I never said that anyone with an iPhone 5 should not buy or has no business buying the 5S. I was simply agreeing with the OP that this version is not for him since he feels the upgrade isn't big enough to justify it. I was simply saying that the upgrade is more justifiable for a much older iPhone. You can buy whatever you want to buy, I was making a point on who this new phone is more targeted to.

Fair play, I agree that it's more worth it for the people who are still on the 4,4s. I'm sure there is loads of people like me also that just want the latest for the sake of it.

I would have to disagree with you as well, I had the 5 and upgraded as I do every year, and upgraded camera and touch id alone for me is worthy for a upgrade.

I don't understand all this ****.

It's a very decent upgrade. It's not earth shattering , but it's an upgrade.

Now, if you spend a lot of time, or money on it your probably out of control, and perhaps a bit foolish.

But we are all going there sooner or later

Climb on board folks!!! :)

And regards to 69, it targets anyone that wants it.
