I returned mine but only because I want silver.

No restocking fee. You have 30 days to return the phone but only 14 days if you want the full carrier subsidy back.

No ghost line bud.

Anyways, I want to return it I guess because I expected more. There isn't pretty much more I can do that I cannot do on the 5. Only thing I'm enjoying is the scanner. But why would I pay 600+ for a scanner you know.

Yes you should return it. I got multiple lines on my account so every year I have 2 or 3 upgrades. I think yearly upgrades are worth the 250 but not the full on 700.

The fingerprint sensor is great and I love it but def not worth 700 over a regular 5.

I'm thinking of exchanging for silver tomorrow if they have any

Good luck. I walked into the Apple Store today right when they were receiving a new shipment. It was all space gray.

I just bite the bullet and placed an order on Apple.com.

If I may,I added a dummy line last year for the 5.It costs $10+tax per month and no phone is needed on that line.I am with AT&T and they were the one that suggested it so I could get the 5.Now I can upgrade ever year.

Which carrier are you with, and how much does your ghost line cost? I have a family plan on AT&T with three lines. One of the people on my plan might no longer need the phone, so I'd like to keep it as cheap as possible. I just renewed that line's contract yesterday.

Just wondering if I'm the only one feeling this way. I'm thinking of returning the 5S and go back to my 5.

Anyone else?
I ordered the 5s at midnight on Friday, realised I was not excited at all and decided to cancel my pre-order. Not enough of an upgrade from the 5 for me really. I'm don't take too many photos so I would basically just be upgrading for the fingerprint sensor, which I think is a great idea but not enough on its own.

You made the right choice. It is nor enough on its own. My5S I put it on Craigslist for $800 and I have people witting to me left and right. I'm shocked I must say lol because I thought the price was too high.

I deleted my Facebook 3 years ago, Twitter a few months ago, I just have Instagram and 64 contacts on my phone and I am 20 years old. I am the last person you can blame that seeks attention.

My reason for this post was to see how others were feeling about the minor update and change their mind about the 5S like I did.

Edit: Can anyone confirm if there is a return fee from Apple or not? Much appreciated.

First Apple product I have ever returned.

Sweet squiggly line tattoo. So hip

For me i wanted the extra space, so even though i upgraded from 5 to 5s, i upgraded also from 32gb to 64gb. Dont plan to return, i skipped the previous S releases, but decided what the heck, and upgraded.

at&t fee is $35 bucks... that's what my bill says

AT&T is the king of crediting stuff. Call them. They will give it back.

But even if they don't, paying $35 is hardly worth not returning a phone that you don't like...

----------

I've had white phones since 2007 and am loving my first black/space gray with the leather red apple case.

Those cases are VERY nice, aren't they? I went with green :D

The S models aren't usually that great if you own the previous gen. The 64 bit chip will be awesome once developers actually have apps in 64bit which could be months from now.

Why months? Apple made x code backwards compatible so itll take only a few hours to change it to a 64 bit app

Your reasons are valid since your not taking advantage of the 64 bit processor at this point or really finding a need for the sensor so if your doubting now it will only get worse I know from experience

Only reason I can see to take it back as it you feel it isn't worth using the upgrade on and you'd rather have it for the 6.

Me personally....I jumped on board the AT&T Next train. So I'm good for next year too.

I'm curious why you went with NEXT. Doesn't it cost you an extra $420/year? ($35/month)

Isn't it cheaper just to pay the $250 "partial upgrade" fee every year instead?

Thanks for the information.

What does it mean only 14 days if you want the full carrier subsidy back?

Nope. In fact instead of carrying a Galaxy S4 and a iPhone 5, I now carry two iPhone 5s's (damn Apple with the little 's')

Apple will give you 30 days to return the phone, no restocking fee.
But If you used a carrier subsidy to buy the iPhone (e.g. commitment to a 2 year contract) then the carrier will charge you a fee or something if you don't return it within 14 days.

I am curious about a few things, there seem to be a lot of people on here who upgrade every year with AT&T, meaning you pay $450 for the base model every year, which is fine, but you can also sell your existing 5 for more or less the same amount, that being said, its basically a free upgrade or 50-70 bucks a year to get a new phone, always be in warranty without apple care, have the newest technology and best resale value. Why does this not make sense for anyone? Why would people do next or do full upgrade one year and retail price the next? I cant see the numbers

I wonder how they work out this fee? It seems they should be thankful they are getting their subsidy money back.
