Do people actually get into this my phone is better than yours ideology offline?

Yes, it's embarrassing. It did start with a faction of iPhone people, back when iPhone was way ahead of the curve with PCAP multitouch.

Lol shrink. Well I do look into what people are using but that doesn't make u a snob IMO, it's merely an observation. But my coworkers and android people in general categorize apple owners generally as snobs so I lol at them

Android is for the low rent crowd. Just look around, you will see.

Owning something can't make you a snob. Only you can make you a snob. Anyone who doesn't realize that has a lot of growing up to do.

And there we have an example of being a snob.

I am not a snob, i'm a very nice guy. But, what I said in the above post, is it not true?

My coworkers thinks so LULZ. They think that iphone owners or apple owners in general are snobbish and elitist.
Yeah there's always going to be that guy in a company that bashes Apple. It's been that way since forever.

I haven't tried to defend my choice in a long time. I used to do that but I grew tired of it. They will not change your mind and you will not change theirs, and why should you?

I just tend to laugh along with these folks. Because when they're done bashing Apple and their conversation turns to which VIRUS SCANNER they should use, I'm just like 'I'm glad I don't have one of those phones' :D

Yes there are still people who think Apple users are snobs. I've gotten it a few times for owning a Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

It seems stronger on the Mac end because some people are like "you paid $1000+ for a computer that does the same as my $300 crap just because it has an Apple logo".

With the Android crowd it seems that many of them focus so much on being anti-Apple or non "iSheep" that they've become more snobby themselves.

For the most part I've gotten tired of arguing with them so I just let them be. Some people bring it up sometimes seemingly just to try and start an argument.

I usually have fun with these people when they say that.

There is usually no comeback when you ask them either how long their $300 crap computer lasted, how much they pay in repairs or replacement and the best question…how long did it last?

They usually get upset and walk away when I explain that I'm still using Macs that are 8 to 15+ years old and that those Macs still have relevant features such as Firewire and USB. AND my repair bill on parts is minimal in comparison. Sure, there are PCs of the same age out there but many of them have long since failed and been recycled.

You pay for quality. But it lasts longer. In the end, these people pay MORE though because they are replacing more frequently. It's a concept they never seem to understand and when you call them on it they get angry.

While brand new iPhones are all on the expensive side (even the iPhone 4S is $450 off-contract), Android phones occupy various price points from low-end flip phone replacement to high-end flagship devices. You can't really generalize based on just one demographic.

You can always tell when school is out for summer. :p

To stay on topic I don't give a rats what someone thinks about my choice of a CELL PHONE. ;)

No, there are many premium Android devices that people use because of the features they offer, not because they are in the "low rent crowd". If you don't realize that, then you are being a snob.

Nice people wouldn't classify someone is low rent based on their choice of phone.

. You do realize the Note 3 costs more than a 16gb iPhone, right? Several other flagships cost just as much as your iPhone.

Is having an iphone being a Snob?

Who doesn't have an iPhone nowadays? I mean, go to the mall, a concert, etc. and all you see are iPhones. Either iPhone devices or Samsung's. And, who cares what device a person uses? It's just a phone!

You have to be part of the mean girls club or the "IN" Crowd to have an iPhone. So yes, it's true. I love looking at myself. I like being snobby and conceited.

Importantly, "ALL" my true friends have iPhones. Anyone without, is tossed to the curve. Ugh! The thought of anyone in my circle of friends having a Samsung or Blackberry. Ugh, the thought sickens me L I T E R A L L Y.

Let me explain the concept of irony...

irony 1 |ˈīrənē, ˈiərnē|
noun (pl. ironies)
the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect: “Don't go overboard with the gratitude,” he rejoined with heavy irony.
• a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result: [ with clause ] : the irony is that I thought he could help me.
• (also dramatic or tragic irony)a literary technique, originally used in Greek tragedy, by which the full significance of a character's words or actions are clear to the audience or reader although unknown to the character.
ORIGIN early 16th cent. (also denoting Socratic irony): via Latin from Greek eirōneia ‘simulated ignorance,’ from eirōn ‘dissembler.’

I hope no one judges others because of their choice of phone.

I do a lot of work for habitat for humanity and in section 8 housing areas. Most of these people are in a bad situation financially. I hate to break it to anyone but the ratio of which brand smartphone people use does not change between higher income and lower income families.

My iPhone is company provided and they provided one to the part time guy that makes delivers. Not knocking him or his job but he (and myself for that matter) aren't consider "elites" in any category.

Its not until you have "a guy" that answers the phone for you and you don't carry one or only carry one for family and emergencies that you have achieved a higher status....

The $300 crap computer is a business expense, I get a new one every year and recycle the old one.

I don't think a mobile phone brand is snobbish, although I have been looked down upon for owning an iPhone simply because the other person feels its rubbish and their choice is the right one. We see that a lot on here going in both directions.

I was sat on a table with a guy I didn't know at a wedding last year and he felt it appropriate to tell me how overpriced and rubbish the iPhone was. When I said I liked it and it suited me he told me I only bought it for the brand, and I could get a better phone for less money and have a bigger screen. I told him I liked the iPhone and the screen was fine and he started getting quite heated. I told him to chill out and not worry about it, to which the ladies on the table all had iPhones. He ended up looking like a bit of a chump! lol. You'll always get people who think they know better and think they know you better than you know yourself. They often embarrass themselves so I leave them hanging :)

see people like that.. people who feel obligated to say how much they hate the iphone... losers LOLOL
