iPhone are so common that most could care less. I use what works best and the friends that I work and associate with do not judge me on my phone.

Maybe they judge me by my Bugatti Veyron but not by my iPhone!

If your a snob you obviously have a diamond encrusted Vetru touch. You don't have an iPhone like the common riff raff!

iPhones are so common in 2014 that I don't think they could even come close to being snobbish or elitist.

In 2007 or 2008, there might have been some case for it, but some iPhones today are $0 upfront with a mobile phone contract, making them affordable to most people.

But you more with plans... how is it more affordable? plans rip you off majorly.

I am a machinist, and I was taking some extra classes at my local community college. My instructor mad fun of me for having a Macbook Air. He talked about "The industry runs CAD/CAM programs in Windows." and I could "buy a $300 Windows laptop to do my work." I smilled and told him that spending $300 on a Windows laptop is like burning $300. It's not worth my time. I'd gladly pay the asking price for a Mac any day of the week. They rarely get malware. It can run Windows for when "I need to spend time in hell" as I put it. And the build quality. It is milled out of solid aluminum! A machinist should be able to appreciate that aspect alone!

I might have come off as "snobish", but I was right! :D:apple:

Lol total snobbish remark but hey it is what it is... U win

I rev my Ferrari when I see iPhone users and watch them shrink in humiliation when they realize their iPhone compares poorly to my car. They are utterly devastated when they realize my bumping music is driven by a mobile record player. Nothing beats retro...

In that regard I still use a Dell Axim. Pure retro greatness.

My coworkers thinks so LULZ. They think that iphone owners or apple owners in general are snobbish and elitist. Do u get this impression?

No, usually snobbery requires having the very best of something.

Some owners do think it's the best due to high cost but nah doesn't make you a snob.

No. When I see an iPhone consumer, I know I'm looking at someone with great taste, who demands the best products, and a person who appreciates the coupling of great hardware and software to deliver the most incredible experiences. A snob, no. But most likely a very well educated person with discerning tastes that are to be admired.

This is embarrassing to read.

There will be some who use an iPhone as a status symbol. many do that with shoes, cars, etc, no biggie,

The Android users who commence the discussion, have a need to marginalise the iPhone user. Why? It can only be jealousy, they do not want the competition winning. It is a version of flattery, reverse snobbery.

This will increase as Apple narrows the artificial feature gap they created by being non innovative.

Some are probably. And then there is the perception that varies regionally I suspect. Here in the northeast US nobody should expect to impress anyone with the (in fact pretty mediocre I find) iphone. Most people have one. It has become the standard in the business world, replacing - unfortunately - the blackberry.
In parts of Europe this seems to be different and apple is fact being perceived as elitist and snobby and more of a lifestyle projection than here (these days).

I personally made the switch to the apple biotope for lack of better alternatives. Stuff is pretty good, some things are a little annoying. Some things flat out don't work. Unfortunately, the announcements for the iphone 6, iOS 8 and Yosemite don't look as if this is getting any better if not worse. Useless eye candy, little useful innovation, lots of disruption of workflows again, steps backwards in the hardware department (such as larger devices).

So no reason to be high-browsed I'd say.

Really? Thats what you feel when you see a mass produced Chinese built consumer product?

Most likely a very well educated person with discerning tastes that are to be admired? Yeah, like my 16 year old nephew that just bought a 5S with money he made in a couple weeks working a summer job.

Yes I do...

well being an iphone/Ipad owner I have this superior attitude, when it comes to gadgets like a tablet or a smart phone.I remember one of my co-workers that she totally hates about everything about me.for example my job,my salary, where I live.So one day at work my iphone rings and she made a statement "I hate your phone, and I hate the ring tone"So I just look at her and said "you hate my phone because you cannot afford to buy an iphone even an android":D:cool::D

iPhone's are good looking compact simple phones. Nearly everyone has one, it's easily recognized.

Odd comment . The recent WWDC was only for software so there is no new hardware, your larger screens will arrive at the same time this year when hardware is refreshed

iOS 8 is a major change, from the one way proprietary approach to opening it up. Not the small updates in the past.

HAHAHA sounds a lil bit like me. LOL

Actually as far as iOS is concerned, it is an update not an overhaul. iOS 7 was the huge overhaul. I predict this will cycle until 9 and iOS 10 will be the next overhaul.

I don't feel this way at all, now apple store employees annoy the crap out of me. ... I'll never enter another apple store again.
