Some are probably. And then there is the perception that varies regionally I suspect. Here in the northeast US nobody should expect to impress anyone with the (in fact pretty mediocre I find) iphone. Most people have one. It has become the standard in the business world, replacing - unfortunately - the blackberry.
In parts of Europe this seems to be different and apple is fact being perceived as elitist and snobby and more of a lifestyle projection than here (these days).
I personally made the switch to the apple biotope for lack of better alternatives. Stuff is pretty good, some things are a little annoying. Some things flat out don't work. Unfortunately, the announcements for the iphone 6, iOS 8 and Yosemite don't look as if this is getting any better if not worse. Useless eye candy, little useful innovation, lots of disruption of workflows again, steps backwards in the hardware department (such as larger devices).
So no reason to be high-browsed I'd say.
