Is Your iPhone 6 Defective In Any Way?

still waiting for my 6+. Hope it won't have any issue. If I do, I'd rather go return and buy a new one. Don't like the white box...

At this point the white box replacements are still brand new phones. They haven't had enough time to refurb any yet. Plus, as someone who's had their share of brand new and apple refurbished, my experience is that you're equally as likely to get a bad one brand new out of the box as having an issue with a refurb or white box. Said another way: the apple refurbs are just as good as a brand new, out of the box iphone.

Anyone worried about sending it back and getting one that is worse?

My feeling is until they work out the kinks and they are chugging out phones faster than they can make them, probably better to hold onto it if your problem isnt that bad.

I would rather have a slight scratch beneath the screen than a yellow screen etc.

Maybe better. As each refurb gets checked and tested before shipment.

Same here.

Factory for dead pixels - C39 for me - both the phones I have received have dead pixels - weeks 32 and 35.

I truly hate the Apple screen lottery and were it not for the fact that iOS is so slick compared to Android and the fact that everything else I have was Apple I'd give up.

Yeah, I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Other issue I had today was that the touch screen digitizer twice stopped responding, hours apart. I thought it might be the Apple Leather case I installed, maybe touching the edge, but I took the phone out and the digitizer was still 90% unresponsive (it might get one touch command every so often). Both times it happened when trying the new Rovio Clash of Clans clone, Plunder Pirates. That's the game that made all the other apps unresponsive.

Cured it both times by rebooting. Figure it's a software glitch. Or I should just get better taste in manipulative free to play games.

I've had an isssue pulling up the camera quick icon on the lock screen multiple times, won't slide up to save my life. have to unlock then lock again to make it work

I just used Dead Spotter and noticed a very small dead pixel 1.5" from the bottom of the screen. It's not bothering me that much since the display doesn't have any bleeding/yellowing and the rest of the phone is fine. However, it is giving a cool tint, and when compared to my 4S, the colors don't seem as accurate. I wonder if you guys have experienced this on your new devices.

Forgot one important detail... I can see the screen light through the silence button when vibration is engaged. Anyone see this too? Now I'm getting a bit concerned about the possibility of having water or dust getting in.

I agree. It is a tad louder but I think the new vibrate feel is worth it. I really like the way it feels.

With the 5S I'd frequently miss calls because I just didn't notice it vibrating in my pocket. The 6 seems to do a MUCH better job actually alerting me to its presence in silent mode.

Just got back from exchanging my iPhone 6 due to the slightly dimmer upper righthand corner. The people at the store were great about it, even though I bought the phone at an AT&T store. They got me in by 10:30 and I was out of there with a new phone with a beautiful, perfect screen by around 11:15, despite the heavy traffic of people picking up iPhones ordered online. This kind of service is why even if the devices WERENT massively better, I'd probably still stick with Apple.

I was appalled at the poll results. A 21% defect rate? Perhaps I should cancel my order and wait until Foxconn workers are under less pressure.
I would just go to China and assemble my phone if I were you

Then you just need to keep sending it back. chance for getting a worse unit and a better unit is equal

great just noticed mine has a dead pixel... do we have a limited time to return it for a replacement, or can i try live with it? and then get it replaced later once they sort these issues out?

only asking as i have an Apple store opening in the next month or so quite local to me, the next one is a train journey away :(

You should be able to return it any time you're still under warrantee. I just exchanged my iPad Air at the Genius Bar last week for a new one due to uneven backlighting (left edge was dark) and I bought it in December. I think they're more forgiving during the 14 day window in terms of returning it for things that they might not see as a big deal, but I think a dead pixel will get you an exchange any time you're covered by warrantee.

Is this just me being picky? No dead pixels, but I do have a slight yellowish tint at the top right.

I went back to the store, and compared the display models. They don't have this tint at the top right, but at the same time, I felt mine looked slightly more "white" everywhere else (except at the top right).

I don't want to be "that guy", but it does bother me sometimes. Does this look to be the glue issue I've read about?

I have the LED ON so it will flash when receiving text messages, it works when I call comes in?

It does NOT work--On the wifes 6+ it works perfect, seems silly to take it back for that but looks like I may have to. Any one else having issue with it?

Quote myself lol :

I just figured it out---In notifications I had the show on lock OFF--It needs to be ON and it will flash.. I dont like my text alerts showing up when locked so I will live with it, glad I figured it out.

I would return that without a second thought. That's worse than the one I already DID return, which had a similar but more subtle issue (dimmer and slightly yellow top right corner).

Cosmetically mine is flawless. However, my WiFi has been spotty. I reset the network settings and that seems to have helped, for the time being. We'll see what happens. Hopefully I won't have any more issues with it.

Sure it wasn't just glue? I know there's been many many cases of people getting units where the glue hadn't yet finished drying. I'd say give it a couple days and see where it is at that point.

Silver iPhone 6 Plus 64GB.
Bought from Apple UK sim free.

Screen no yellowing
Backlight no bleed
No dead/stuck pixels
Casing no marks or dents
Glass no imperfections

And THIRD iPhone 6 64GB Space Grey - and yup - another one with a dead pixel. I give up now.

My gold iphone 6 64- right side of the screen intermittently goes dark then flickers back on...

I've gone through 5 iPhone 6's, the 1st four all had dead pixels. Genius and store manager at Apple store were so accommodating and saw them easily and swapped no problem. Really appreciated that. 5th time was a charm for me, perfect. The 1st four had serials starting with F17 and also DNF I think can't remember all. My current one is DNP. I hate dead pixels and refuse to accept them, ever.

It's not glue. It won't get better. Trust me. I've lived with multiple iphones with this problem. Return for full refund and buy again. Don't settle for a white box replacement

Dang, looks like mine has an issue. It looks like a pixel is stuck on extra bright or something and noticeable when viewing white (it doesn't shine when it's displaying black). Here's a picture I took of it. Image

Tried hard reboots and no luck.

I may go with the call to apple route rather than braving the store again.

Damn is there a way to test and see these easier?
