Is Your iPhone 6 Defective In Any Way?

Even with the slight looseness/wobble, the home button has a solid up down click to it. That's why I'm thinking it's probably not worth a swap.

If you have one that's got a decent screen with no dead/stuck pixels or significant yellowing I'd hang on to it. The screen quality this time around seems to be worse than previous years. I'm returning my 3rd i6 with dead pixels. All C3 factory.

I had a really weird issue today, my vibrate stopped working... My vibrates were on, not on do not disturb and tried hard reboot and reset my phone and nothing... Then I started charging my phone and few minutes later I messed with he vibrates and I **** myself when it started vibrating :D

Far as I can see the screen is good. No yellowing. Backlight is pretty even and no dead pixels so far.

I had two from F2 factory one had dust under screen and the other one had stuck pixel.
I'm onto my third iPhone 6 too
And onto my second iPhone 6 Plus too due to dead pixels.
Seems like Apple rush these phones out.

I got one with a yellow screen, and one with a mushy home button. The home button feels like it is going to prematurely fail. There is very little clicking.

Thank god!

My 6 and 6+ both say no service every 20 min. The signal suddenly drops.
My house has always had weak AT&T coverage but I never experienced something like this with the 5S and Nexus 5

Thank god finally someone with the same problem, I've trawled the internet and you're the only other one I found! I'm in the UK on the carrier EE. My signal literally disappears and almost refreshes. Was every 5 minutes or so when I received the phone now it's ever 30 seconds. If you open the settings screen - the 'Carrier' option disappears for me whenever it drops out. Then if you try and make a call whilst it's dropped it says there is no SIM Card. And for the record I live in a 5 bar signal area (the antenna is on the building next door in fact).

I reset network settings, restored the phone, tried sim in old iPhone 5 (running ios8 so not a software issues), there was no problem. Tried a different SIM in my iPhone 6 and the problem was still there. Have contacted apple and this has been escalated to Tier 3 engineers. Waiting for a response (should be today) but I suspect it's a hardware issue that is going to require a replacement (and a 100 miles round trip to an apple store as I don't have a CC)

Disappointing but ultimately this happens with new products. Just want my nice new phone as I loved the 2 hours of fun I had with it

I am from the USA and I haven't seen or heard of any defects on the ones that my friends and clients have purchased. They all love the device.

I have had some software glitches on IOS 8, but that's to be expected. Apple has the best customer service in the business and all these issues will be taken care of, just be patient.

Mine booted straight into temperature warning, then was fine.
tried to unlock and boom: temperature warning again.
Just got it a few hours ago, gonna keep my eye on this and might return it to the store (it's a perfect unit apart from that)

I've just noticed a tiny ding in the back, about half a centimeter under the ! in a circle. There is no scratches or anything, just that. I haven't done much with the phone since Friday and have been babying it so nothing could have caused it. What are the chances that they will replace it?

Also is the power button (6 Plus) a bit loose for anyone else?

So I decided my previously mentioned backlight/shadow issue was return-worthy after a colleague showed me his iPhone which had a nice uniform backlight. Returned to the store this evening where they exchanged for a white box phone with that same issue in the top right corner, instead of all the way across the top.

I left the store with a full refund and empty handed. I am probably fussier than the average customer but in recent history i received a Retina iPad with a splodge of dirt under the screen, a MacBook Pro (Retina) with a full on dented bottom cover, and an iPhone 5S with a scratched case. I made a point of taking the refund today and would suggest others do the same. Returns and refunds and all of the hassle around that are partly what will drive Apple to improve QC.

Are you gonna wait it out?

The vibrate on my 6 feels different, and it's a bit louder, but doesn't bother me.

One issue so far is that my 6 seems to be getting really warm. But it's loading photos from iCloud, updating apps and all kinds of other stuff in the background, so I have a feeling of that is the more likely issue right now.

The vibration is different because they switched back to a linear oscillating motor for vibration (last seen in the 4s). Both the 4 and 5/5c/5s used counterweight motors for vibration. The iFixit tear down of the 6 goes into detail on that.

Mine is almost perfect... everytime I apply pressure on the back of the phone it makes a creaking noise.. Anyone got the same issue? I'm not too bothered about it though.

Is that near the edges where the screen meets the case or in the middle of the device?

Cosmetically mine is flawless. However, my WiFi has been spotty. I reset the network settings and that seems to have helped, for the time being. We'll see what happens. Hopefully I won't have any more issues with it.

Sure it wasn't just glue? I know there's been many many cases of people getting units where the glue hadn't yet finished drying. I'd say give it a couple days and see where it is at that point.

Yeah, idk. Day 3 and it's still there. Happened to be at Target today and when I compared mine with the display, I thought the display model looked a little better. Everything else works perfect though (including battery and wifi).

I have a Genius Bar appointment tomorrow night, but part of me is scared of getting one with a different problem, especially after reading some of the wifi / battery issues people are having. I wish I wasn't so particular sometimes :(

One problem

Im having vertical black lines only when I'm online and switch back and forth to landscape. Anyone else having this problem?

This phone is a mess. We can't trust apple anymore. Not only my cellular connection fails, but also my WiFi. It is extremely slow and irresponsive. It takes hours to connect and hours to load pages. It also takes a long time scanning for new networks.

My last good iPhone was the 3Gs. Since the 4, all of them had problems.

I paid $1015 for the iPhone 6 Plus 128gb. I wasn't expecting everything to be flawless but.. Hardware problems + 90% of the apps blurry... This is not the Apple I used to love.
Rush rush.. The competition pushed them.

An odd issue popped up today with my i6. Two separate phone conversations. If I put slightly more pressure on the back of the phone around the Apple logo while on a call, the volume of the call drops significantly. Release my finger a bit from the back and it goes back to normal. I am not pressing on the volume buttons while on the call. As I stated earlier in the thread I'm on my 5th iPhone 6 due to the prior ones all having dead pixels. It's a white box replacement. You folks think it's the phone or fluky network issue (Verizon)? Would you just return phone and get refund finally and wait a bit and then re-buy a new retail box?

These yellow screens - is it really obvious? Or very subtle? Not even sure if I'd know.

I have a dark uneven backlight along the top of my gold 6 (pretty noticeable on white screen). But I have played the screen lottery many many times before and only remember one perfect unit (my first 4). Going to try and live with it this time so I don't go crazy.

Return it ASAP.

Wow apple is disappointing.. Refund it and wait one or two weeks. The current batch is really faulty

I tried erasing the phone and setting up as new to see if that resolves it. Initially I set up by restoring from back up in iTunes. We'll see tomorrow I guess. Sucks because I now will have to hang on to my 5S rather than sell it, just in case Apple won't accept a return of my white box replacement (since it isn't the originally purchased phone). I don't want to exchange again, I'd rather return and re-buy later if I choose to.
