It works perfectly with my MBA, I don't tether much but when I do this will be helpful :D

I'm a little concerned that I dropped $15 on an app so easily.

I had the same reaction but you'll be happy you did when you need it especially since it will likely be gone by tomorrow or sooner.

Just fyi, this app does not continue to push bits while backgrounded on iOS. Must have the app open front and center.

That's cause iOS doesn't have true multitasking. Sorry to say, but that really is the truth.

IT WORKS IT WORKS IT WORKS. This is the only reason I've always jailbroken my iPhone, and than it always made my phone laggy like an android and I reformatted. Now with this app, I will NEVER jailbreak again.

GET IT NOW!!! Don't be cheap, that $15 is nothing compared what you'd pay. Even if you won't use it, once you have it, you will start using it more than you know, I literally live off of tethering.

Especially since the same app, by the same developers, for BlackBerry or Android, costs $29.99. The iOS version is half the price.

I only hope they get a Bluetooth-enabled (ESPECIALLY if it does iOS-to-iOS,) update before Apple pulls it. The only reason I have Jailbroken recently is to tether my iPad to my iPhone.

Can someone share what the settings under network preferences for this connection is? Mine won't connect and I keep getting a notification the "the application tproxy quit unexpectedly"

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Roadrunner is the ISP that was hosting the speed test app.

The ISP changes depending on what server you choose to test with.

Everybody that uses speed test reguarly should know that.

You've got it completely backwards. Everybody that uses speed test regularly should know that. Don't go around making up things if you really don't know for sure what you're talking about.

The ISP is what you're using to connect to the internet. The server is what you are connecting to. In his case, he was using Road Runner to connect to a server in Oklahoma City. When I first tried the app, I was still connected to the WIFI, and it said my ISP was Mediacom. After turning off the WIFI on my iPhone and running the test again, the ISP changed to the generic "Service Provider" which is AT&T.

Sweet!! My speeds aren't so great but.....I'm stoked. Totally worth 15 bucks

Just downloaded, however, I got a question about this:

Lets say Apple pulls this from their stores after I completed the purchase. However, I decide to buy a new Mac. Will I be able to re-download it as part of my Itunes account on the new Mac?

no if they pull it you won't be able to redownload it so keep a copy on computer and maybe backed up to a couple disks :)

I had to do it again because I wasn't believing the speed! Speedtest for the second time: Image

nah, that can't be possible. Make sure to turn off WiFi on your iPhone so you are going through your 3G connection.

Are there going to be updates (stability-wise, etc) on this app? If so, how are we supposed to get that update if Apple pulls it from the store?

Problem, cell companies? :D
Jerks. If we pay for 1GB of data per year, it shouldn't matter what device is using it.

I wonder if the Apple employees let this through because they wanted to get tethering without overpaying the greedy carriers...

Note: As a bonus, this app is willing to share your iPhone's WiFi connection, too, not just the Cellular connection. That speed is faster than the fastest iPhone 3G connection is even theoretically capable of, so it's just using your home WiFi. (The iPhone 4S is capable of, in theory, 14.4Mb/s, although the fastest I've seen anyone claim to get is about 7 Mb/s.)

Edit: This is a "bonus", because it allows you to piggyback on faster "free for iDevices" WiFi when you can, if you can't get your laptop directly on WiFi.

What, if you don't have a wifi card?
