Hmmmmmm. I'm a bit late to the party, but I have my iTunes up and did a "check for updates" and was told that 7.0.1 is the current version. I'm on a PC though, not sure if that would make a difference. From the sounds of most of these postings, maybe I should be happy that I am not updating.

The update was painless on all my machines. If you eliminate the trolls and professional complainers, there are probably few actual issues.

For everyone that was asking about checking iTunes Library thing... this was introduced in iTunes 7.0, and, as far as I can tell, merely checks the library for corruption should iTunes unexpectedly quit (or be forced to quit). It's happened to me several times before, and always when iTunes had crashed or locked up.

I thought that was for the gapless playback.

Frankly I found that it wasn't that great. The funniest part. I have Dark Side of the Moon and it sure didn't play back the same way it did for Steve....

iTunes just prompted me about a new 2G iPod Nano firmware update, version 1.1.1.

All it says is bug fixes and support for additional Nike+iPod voice packs.

Just another "Me too" to the reports of MUCH better flow in coverflow. Lol, it was quite choppy before, even with 1.5gb of RAM. Much better. Now the big test is the overall stability of the program. I got plenty of random crashes since 7.0.1 was installed so hopefully this fixed them.

Album artwork and video artwork scrolls much better in new update, rather than before it took a little while for artwork to fill in on certain covers as well as videos. I have a library of about 1850 albums and it was frustrating as I scrolled. This is now fixed! :D
You're right. That always annoyed me as well, but like you said, that is fixed now. So YAY!!! :)

Sure it does...

Slightly OT, I don't have my PB with me to check, but if i can remember rightly, I think you go in to playback prefs and disable crossfade playback and in get info for album prefs set to continuous or whatever it says, it works a treat!

One thing that I don't like about Cover Flow that still hasn't been addressed is how it has to load up all the art before it will flow without being choppy. This means I have to slowly go through and look at all the artwork, and then I can do it fast no problem.
When I quit and open iTunes again, then it all has to reload. Can't they just just cache it?

yeah my mac has the update but my pc doesn't, but that's how it was with 7.01 for me, the pc update lagged behind a bit.

Store is in French

Er, I don't know what's happening, but since updating, my iTunes store is now in French.

It appears to be the actual French store. I have access to the European version of an album I couldn't see before -- and it even includes French versions of the songs. (The album is "Steady Pull" by Jonatha Brooke.) I have options like "Voir tous les albums," "Me prevenir," and "Recommander." If I wish, I can "acheter l'album" for 11,99 euros.

I'm reasonably sure it's the French store, and not simply IN French. The top album is currently "L'eau" by Jeanne Cherhal. Maybe I'm getting really old, but I don't think that's likely for the US, since I've never heard of Jeanne Cherhal.

Has anybody else experienced this? I've restarted the app several times. iTunes itself is still in English. Only the iTunes Store is confused. How do I fix this?!

After the update the "Movies" section has disappeared for me in iTS, anybody else run into this?

Any hints how to get them back?
Your screen shot mentions ARIA awards, so you seem to have been switched over to the Australian store.

Could be worse, could be Australia.

For both of you, go the the main iTunes Store page and scroll to the bottom. There is a menu there where you can go back to your own countries.

I just had this same problem and was coming on here to post about it. Except, instead of taking me to the French store by default, it took me to the Japanese store. Weird.

Found it. For some reason -- pretty sure this wasn't there before -- there's a pull-down menu on the front page of the store to select the country for my iTunes store. Is that a bug? I changed it to US, and it's fine, but aren't the licensing issues here? Seems like a bug...

Mine appears to be Japan, too. And I haven't updated! So, apparently this bug is tweaking everyone, regardless of whether or not you've updated.

As to the copyright question, I think that you can only buy tracks from a store if the credit card you use has a mailing address that matches the location of that store. So, it's a non issue.

Cover flow runs much smoother on my Mac mini G4/1.42GHz, but now the movie trailers are nowhere to be seen in the iTunes Store (Canada).
