I'm amazed people aren't more pissed off about the potential lack of iPhone 2.1 software.

I'm not taking that note seriously. Maybe that just means Touch owners won't have to pay for the upgrade. I'm sure the iPhone will see 2.1 the same time the Touch will.

:]

i'm really happy about 2.1(well, we'll have to see wont we) and i think the new iTunes idea is amazing! i would really like this, i always have to scroll up and down b/c apparently i do not know the english alphabet

Pointless for me

The whole album view is pointless, especially from me. When I rip my CD's they are not recognized and do not load the tracks, artist, or album automatically.

Why? - Most of my CD's are from local artists, Music I recorded off the radio, converted cassettes, old 8-tracks, or single songs recorded from an internet stream or free download from the artist's website. Plus a few store bought ones have loaded incorrect information (ie thought it was a different artist and CD than what I had loaded, or loaded the genre as punk when it was contemporary Christian and definately not punk sounding at all). if this new update requires information from the internet, it will be useless. It better have an option to just list the text of the album, than an album cover.

My collection is only going to get more like this. Since Target sells a record player (yes the old black vynal looking things - for all you teenagers) that converts your records to CD, I am looking to buy one of those and begin to pick up some old records that are at my local goodwill/salvation army. Stuff you just can't find anymore.

Sorry, But i'm getting angry here.

For all we know the grid view may not be release, or iTunes 8 for that matter. I wish we could all leave it a suprise like the good ol' days XD

As a Windows XP user, I don't give a crap about any new features. iTunes does what it needs to do. What I would like to see in iTunes 8 is a faster, more responsive interface. I'd like things to come up WHEN I CLICK ON THEM, not after a 10 second delay. I'd like the scrolling to be smooth, like it is in every other Windows application. I'd like to be able to click on the scroll bar, and move it up and down in a normal fashion, instead of clicking on a phantom spot and having it move in a jerky manner.

For me I would Like to SEE much Larger Font Selection. My Eye sight is not what it use to be and the largest Fonts are way too small for my sorry eyes.

It's one of the major reasons I hardly use iTunes. Reading the movie description and other things kills me eyes! Cmon Apple fix this!

Im not hungary for more bloatware, that's why I left windoz! :p:eek::rolleyes:

i want a faster iTunes as well, i wish they would have started from scratch to be honest ^^ maybe they've been working on a complete new 8.0 for months or so

i cant even play my purchased videos in full screen bc it slows everything down and gets stuck and no my laptop isnt crap i can even play 720p HD files without any problems

Uh, I think you have come to the wrong forum!

Yeah i know, i dont mind the rumours at all there great, but people that try to eye up the whole, and treat it as it had already happened, and the judge-the-product-on-the-rumour thing bugs me a lil XD

Good point though. I forgot what forum i was in LOL ^^
;)

The BIG event tomorrow should be the release of an Iphone update that actually restores our iphones to a time and place when they actually worked...remember those days....

I totally agree, they need to stop with all this aesthetic fancy garbage and write a program that actually responds when you click or scroll.

And I'm hoping Rose just hasn't been fed with any iPod Touch info, hopefully it will see some sweet changes! It better! If nothing else, 64g!!

Sounds to me its pretty crap, iTunes is fine for me on my macbook, probably one of the fastest media browsers

Also, he doesn't say anything about a price drop or redesign of the iPod touch.

If he's a credible source, this worries me. But I think he doesn't have the full story.

(I hope) we should see iTunes 8 and OSS 10.5.5 today.

So they can have everything up and running working out any kinks by 9.00am tomorrow morning

He wouldn't have to have a connection to the development team.

I know someone that works for iPhone support (LOW on the Apple food chain) and he knew about the updated iTunes a few weeks ago (only mentioned that there were mainly aesthetic changes). Apple must tell their support people certain things ahead of time so they can begin supporting the new features right away.
I used to work at apple. In elk grove California I was an apple care rep that supported all consumer mac and iPods. We were never told about products ahead of time. Most of the time we would be invited to a training room. To watch the keynote via satelite feed. We knew nothing of the iPod video till Steve announced it. Then someone higher up came In to the room
and let us get some hands on with it. Then they made go take online training about the new product

I hope we see more than this.

Specifically, I hope the iPod touch gets a capacity bump along with some new hardware features. The classic should get a bump too.

A new feature or two for the iPhone would be cool also. (ALthough I highly doubt that's coming.)

Honestly, all I really want is the stuff to work again. It's been a long time since Apple just made stuff that worked well. Give me an event full of bug fixes and I'll be happy.

My whole family uses iTunes all the time and none of us have any lag at all – that’s 6 laptops running XP and one OSX. Granted most of our laptops are newer but one of them is a 5 year old Acer and it handles movies was well as my MacBook. I wonder why some are having a problem. We always max out the ram in our systems – could that be why we AREN’T having trouble? Just wondering...

Looks great, better than the album view it is supposed to be replacing. I hope the real deal is similar to the mock up.
